Bechukotai - “In My Statutes”
Leviticus 26:3-27:34
Bechukotai begins with a proclamation from YHWH that if the people of Israel live according to His statutes, ordinances and commandments, they will reap prosperity and safety. God gives the promises that, through their obedience to His ‘instructions for life’, their crops will be successful and abundant, they will fruitfully multiply as a nation and most importantly, that He will dwell with them.
However, following these promises of blessing is the warning that exile, persecution and tribulation await them if they break the covenant that God had made with them. The list of curses is formidable, but concludes with the promise of redemption for anyone who would, after falling into corruption, turn back to God, confess their sins and repent of their wickedness. Although they may be in captivity in the lands of their enemies, with a true heart for coming back to God, He will not forget His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The answer.....They forsook Me and did not keep My Torah 16:10
Why has the land become ruined? " It is because they have forseken My Law...and did not obey Me...." 9:12 Ties in beautifully with Leviticus 26.

Ezekiel 9:4 is included in the Teshuvah " 9" chapters. And its HIS MARK on our foreheads.
“Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined!
