This actually saved me a lot of time I put into an item but I will say if it’s completely bone dry you have to know how your pieces fit together because when you put them together, you only have a max of two seconds. I had to soak both ends for around three seconds. Then putting them together they completely bonded in a few seconds. I noticed when I was trying to brush the vinegar on it did turn the bone dry clay into a slurry for a split second. But I couldn’t get enough on there on both sides for it to actually work being bone dry

I’ve tried repairing bone dry clay not leather hard and come to find out it’s nearly impossible as you need pretty wet clay attaching to very dry clay which won’t really bond all that well so as soon as I notice a crack I get to work

True it doesn't work it just makes things worse - I lost two pots following this advice... crap!

Kaden Smike I actually tried this on a piece that was bone dry and it worked beautifully. I tried putting it on with a brush and it dried up too quickly what I did was dipped both pieces in two different bowls of vinegar let them soak for a few seconds and put them together and it is 100% strong yes you can see a little seam You paint over the crack or seem with the vinegar and it will blend together you have to get a lot on there because it will soak in very quickly if you don’t but when you put those pieces together you better make sure that you know exactly how they fit together because you only have like two seconds at the Max to put them together correctly or they will be messed up this saved me from wasting 60+ hours on an item
