Our Station closed due to lack of passengers in 1964 it was on the Whitchurch to Oswestry line on the English Welsh Border best wishes from Ellesmere Shropshire England
Because the TTC built this line on the cheap "(Let's build this line beside a railroad line so the stations will be isolated!"), the whole line is underutilized. Let's face it, people use it to get to Scarborough Town Centre, and that's it. It's like the Sheppard Subway ("Let's build half of it so people can't get anywhere on it!") and the Eglinton Crosstown ("Let's not build it into Etobicoke and the airport so it serves half the city!") Transit in Toronto: a joke.
I agree with you about the Scarborough and Sheppard lines, the former should have been a Bloor-Danforth extension to begin with back in the 80's (extending it west to Sherway Gardens as well) while the Sheppard line honestly was a complete waste of money, time and resources that could have been used to build a new subway line going from Downtown to Danforth to help relieve congestion on the Yonge-University line (With the TR trains and ATC). Eglinton Crosstown however I'm fine with as it is being built in 2 phases with the first being from Mount Dennis to Kennedy Station while the second phase is extending it west to Pearson Airport and east further into Scarborough.
why they didn't build a bus bay at this station is beyond me... the 95 bus route is so heavily used... but because ellesmere is in such a isolated(i use that loosely) location, people find it easier just to take the 95 straight to york mills station...
@2:39 you stopped talking about the station.but it"s good.Good video.From Mohammad Salahuddin
