Albert or BB King, one of those "Kings" lol, i forget which one was also quoted saying, "Sometimes the what's in-between the notes are more important than the notes themselves"... lol Think about that one. Genius!
Don't look now folks, but I believe we have a new guitar hero. Wow that young man is already a great player, he's also a very nice, polite, respectful southern gentleman. Please lose some weight Kingfish, we want you around for a long long time. PEACE ☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ !!!!!
*I've heard Slash from Guns and Roses. I've heard Hendrix, BB King, Van Halen, and Chuck Berry. When it's all said and done with, this kid will be mentioned in the same breath as those greats.*
Jehovah's Witnesses Testimonies And Ive seen Gary Moore, David Gilmour, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keith Richards, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower, Rick Derringer, John Lee Hooker. And this kid’s GOT the best of their stuff.
I'm spellbound by this awesome guitar playing, it brings tears of joy to my eyes. It's an explosion of sheer skillful mastery of the instrument. He's so extraordinarily good at such a young age, just imagine how he's going to be playing ten years from now.
Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Tampa Red, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and now Christone "KINGFISH" Ingram. The blues lives on and on! This young man is incredible, great music!
Jimi wasn't this good at this age, and I'm a huge Hendrix fan. He sounds like Jimi at his best! Considering he'd only been playing about 3 years when this was recorded, it's hard to imagine what he'll be doing down the road.
Imagine 5 years ago as I ran my 30th marathon at age 68 - Mississippi Blues Marathon in Jackson - come to the finish line and this amazing is performing for us - immediate revitalization after 26.2 miles!! So as soon as we cleaned up got into blues hall for dinner where he played the evening and continued to amaze - I said "next BB King " - as he matched and then blew away host of best guitarists repertoires. Then met him and his mom (then was his manager) - both warm, gracious humans!
Unbelievable talent and dedication in this young star soaring to lead the way to stardom - just plain amazing from a blues fan who worked his way through Georgia Tech undergrad playing "the chitlins circuit" around Atlanta on his way to becoming a nuclear physicist...Kingfish is a name to remember!!!
So glad I got to see him in LA. He sold the place out, then blew the place down! 09/13/19 He’s a super nice person, too. Stayed around a long time signing autographs for fans. That is how you develop a lifelong fan base, man.
Christone "Kingfish" Ingram = Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, and Albert King - combined. What a "Natural Super-Talent!" this Young Man "Kingfish" is. God Bless him.
why do you refer to dead men? this guy is better. there are thousands of current kick ass bands and musicians better than the worshipped and legendary dead.
I'm a bit odd in that I'm not a very musical person. I'll listen to a song but I've never been into buying albums or going to concerts and unless they are ultra famous like Michael Jackson or the Rolling Stones, I couldn't tell you who most musicians are. But youtube had this on their recommendations so I clicked on it and my God this is just the perfect. It's not to fast but not to slow and it's just the perfect relaxing but also motivating type of music. I'm not even sure if that makes sense but I could start listening to this regularly.
Dude has that SRV channel. Like Mayer describes. At best, most human beings can play like this for 10 minutes; but Fish has it like SRV, where it's just natural and it's always on 12.
Oh My Goodness , Sooo much feeling so much soul so much technique, I can honestly say that no other Guitarist around today moves me like this Youngman How do You become such a BLUESMASTER at such a young age. I could watch and listen to this kid for days on end. Whooo.
Although this was an amazing performance, I recently heard one of his interviews (2021)were he talked about how he used to go "all out" without having a govenor on himself or his music, I didn't actually know what he meant until I heard such a difference in his music today and back then. He's learned how to perfect his sound incredibly in these past years, you can hear it definitively in his sound, in the way he performs, and in the way he's learned how to back off from "wailing away", and has refined himself so so much, he's simply amazing.
So true! Look at some videos of Joe Bonamassa when he was a teenager. Great guitaristas, like fine wine, get better and better with age. Kingfish is an amazing vintage already, buckle up, he’ll just keep getting better!
6:00 Christone ‘s amp had to go out for a cigarette after that smoking hot solo Announcer was right....you can’t be ready for the kingfish. Love this bass player, too....reminds me of Johnny B Gayden...... my “gold standard” for bass players.
Mr Kingfish, I grew up in Taylor, and water valley Mississippi. I think about 30 minutes maybe an hour from where you grew up . Think I'm over twice your age but ever since I discovered you. Please stay healthy and live a long life so I can listen to your music for all of mine!!! I love you man!!✌️🙏☮️
This man is going to be up with them greats in ten years, for sure. He'd better started changing his surname to King, already. Not joking. And he's a superb singer, too!!
Mercy sakes ! At 23 years old and playing with so much feeling and dexterity . Kingfish did a lot of practicing and listening when he was growing UP . Someday people will be saying "I was there when I heard the Kingfish play!" ... if they aren't already.
Fast isn't everything, if it's not musical. You can hear absolutely every note, and they all fit perfectly together.
Albert or BB King, one of those "Kings" lol, i forget which one was also quoted saying, "Sometimes the what's in-between the notes are more important than the notes themselves"... lol Think about that one. Genius!
