    I dig it when Dr. Patroklos Androulakis-Korakakis introduces himself with his proper name. It's a name worth spelling out.
    Just reporting in, watching this with a sleepless night behind me, approaching evening.

    Thank you. Legit critique: Most evidence-based podcasts are too long. As a PhD student and a nerd, I struggle to watch them regularly.

    good talk. You should do a marathon episode for charity. 10 hours to start? Just an idea.

    This would get more views if you edit this down for the greatest hits of points. Love the dialogue but just the nature of the video length might turn off some of the content. Just a thought :)

    Wait, so you mean sleep isn't more powerful than steroids?!! Well there goes my plan to sleep 16 hours a day until I looked like Ronnie Coleman😭. Seriously, the stuff renaissance periodization is starting to put out at this point is embarrassing.

    Not sure if you guys or anyone in the comments has a rec for earbuds/sleep masks? I've been trying to get into one but I find them so uncomfortable. I'm like Greg where if I wear anything I find it uncomfortable.
    Also, +1 to banter heavy episodes.

      Look into Manta sleep masks, they're pricey but by far the best I've tried. For earplugs I'd recommend to buy an assortment and find a model/size that fits your ears. I've found the Howard Leight Laser Lite or 3M 1100 plugs are pretty comfy but YMMV. It also took me a while to get used to sleeping wearing them but I got used to it after a week or so

    Why is Greg depressing people? No longevity increase if you start exercise too late? Nooo.

    • @greglnuckols
      @greglnuckols 2 місяці тому +1

      The longevity benefits of most things are vastly overblown. It does still increase healthspan, which is about as good as you're going to do with most interventions

      @@greglnuckols I was just kidding. I know most of this is overblown as with most magic bullet health interventions for longevity. Resistance training does seem to maintain health better into your older years. I am in my 50s now. I am much, much stronger and more self-sufficient than other people my age who engage in some other activity. They look way worse than I do. Lifting has a very powerful ability to stave off the effects of a sedentary lifestyle while aging along with I imagine cardio and such, though cardio people don't look nearly as big and aren't nearly as strong.
