I love seeing y'all get out there and shred the motocross track!!! Giving me the motivation to get back out there on my stock 790 Adventure S as well, though I need to order some new Motoz knobbies for it first, LOL!
Thank you very much for sharing your experience! I wonder if it's feasible to use the 690 as a training bike in motocross track for a "normal" guy like me! Is it a lot more tiring than a proper cross bike? I'm new in this world, I don't jump so high because for now I have just rented a cross bike a couple times, but I like a lot the "almost zero maintenance and street legal" part in the user manual of the 690 😆 I would buy just one bike for everything, it seems like a dream! So please tell me, after some more practice renting proper bikes, would it be a suicide to start practicing with a 690? Thanks in advance for your feedback 😁 you are amazing!
@@mototrailz First time I hear this honestly. The bike should have been properly balanced by the engineers that built it, though I'll ask to the guy riding in this video and see what he says cause I'm curious about it.
@@crazyRyoga U get extra 12 kg on back of the bike plus heavy exhaust, try ride fast with almost empty tank and refuel, it kicks hard, get bogged down in sand/mud. Tank place is on the front and low.. list of problems with this bike is very long
@@kuziemskifoto3155 Rally bikes have back tanks too tho, even bigger than this one. Also, I'm pretty sure the tank sits more low than back, and it gives a lower center of gravity than a front tank for sure. Anyway, as I said, I never heard about this type of complain, so I asked the guy in the video, maybe he'll shine a light on the issue. Beside that, the only problems I heard about this bike is the clutch slave cilinder (which gets changed in warranty).
I pick up my 690 this coming wednesday, nearly everyone who is a serious dirt biker says the 690 can't go off road with any reasonable ability.......yet here we are, glad I ignored them :)
@@moritzschafer3141 Its honestly an amazing bike, I am not a high skill level off road rider, put me down as casual / out of practice, in deep ruts and heavy mud and situations you need to pick it up a lot you really feel the weight, the fact you need to turn off traction control every time you restart becomes tiring after the 5th time as well, the standard tyres are junk offroad, "ok" on road for knobbles. The bike apart from that ?? epic, I dropped one tooth up front and now the thing powers up in 4th and stands it on the back wheel on the power alone with a small bounce on the forks, its hugely fun to ride, proper grow horns, even riding the same roads back to back against my S1000XR the 690 is still tons of fun and doesn't feel lacking, can cruise at 70/80 mph all day zero effort - which means it is perfect as a dual purpose for sure. I intended from the start to buy SM wheels and Tyres to swap between them, waiting for those to arrive now, this will be epic on the twisties with some proper rubber for sure. In short I love it mate, in the right hands the 690 is very capable off road as well, I was still able to go all the places the 250's and 350's were going including steep muddy rocky hills etc....
@@moritzschafer3141 It is honestly awesome, love it to bits, I have an S1000XR as well, and even riding the same roads back to back the 690 is still fun, BMW feels like a fat pig after the 690 lol....heated grips, cruise control and some SM wheels to swap between with are my main mods so far.
The suspension upgrade is necessary when you do stuff like that Original suspensions are way too soft for fast riding The upgrade is not to make you ride faster but safer
Cool vid! What a training exercise to ride a 690 Enduro around a moto track. Can't imagine doing a 30 minute + 2 lap moto on it!
Actually Xavier ride until running out of fuel 😅

Go for it man ! Riding is medication for every sickness 🙏
xavier, which shock are you running on the 690? if stock, what mods to shock? how travel on shock and forks?
Yes, very interested to hear what suspension mods were done.
WP Xplor Pro 8946 & 7548 (6000 euro l'ensemble)
@@mototrailz Very cool 👍which suspension travel?
@@mototrailz i don't think that XPLOR PRO 8946 will fit ktm 690? what makes think that 8946 will fit?
Maybe we can see Xavier and you Gordinne next year in Africa eco race?
Man !!! It will be awesome !
Bah en mars y a une autre edition de l"AER...let's go! 👊✊
hopefully

Hello, U put fuel tank to the front of bike? The original solution is very helpful to visit hospital very often
He probably added the rade garage tank. What do you mean with the original solution making you visit the hospital?
@@crazyRyoga Because when you have all the fuel in the back you can do stunt like on the video...the weight is not balanced well.

Nice video!
I ride a 690 and I don’t care what suspension work is done to it, I could never ride like that! 🤣

me too
👍👍
Cool
the best thing for KTM , is to make 690R , as ADVENTURE .....!
I wish people wouldn't play music over the sound of the bikes.
