- Every gold rush seems to begin with stories of people up nuggets by the handful.
Hundreds of years after this happened in Western Australian desert the twin towns of Kalgoorlie and Boulder are still gold rush towns.
Rainbow's End is a nostalgic journey with Jack Absalom in the richest square mile of real estate in the world. Jack traces the 'golden rainbow' that the early that early diggers followed on their quests for the lucky strike that would set them up for life. We meet up with some of the characters that inhabit the goldfields and hear of the great gold strikes and gold swindles.
not sure how many times I've watched his shows on here, and on tele back in the good old days.... Thanks for posting them... great story telller
I still find his shows fascinating ... stories so well told.
I could have rode around all day with that old man pulling trees...ah the things he could tell and teach you.....thanks for this video from missouri
Most Knowledgeable man I have ever met a true Australian icon never tire of watching his docos I used to have a few drinks with his Brother-in-law Kevin Wills about 10 or 15 years ago! RIP Jack and ride the endless Outback Roads in the Sky now!😢🤠🚘🏜️🐪🦅🖼️🎨🖌️🇦🇺
I like to think hes cruising around the outback in his Sigma still - visiting his favorite places in these shows...
Then in the late afternoon relaxing beside his car somewhere next to a dry river bed painting away peacefully.
I first met Jack in 1988, great memories. RIP.
Rest in peace JACK
MR ABSALOM THE TRUE AUSTRALIAN LEGEND AND A GENTLEMAN
GEO K K. Mate, if those criminal politicians were like Jack Absalom, it’ll be the best world 🌍 to live in!!! And your right, the way he spoke, the way he moved, the way he done things, he was a legend and a real gentleman..
Definitely one of the best presenters on Australian TV at the time. I really miss him, but luckily we have UA-cam to revisit old times!
Rohan Gillett. Yeah, that’s how I got back into it.
Absolute gold. Thanks for posting
A great chap Jack Absalom , always looked forward to watching his adventures, and this one has my father in it at the Denver City Hotel in Coolgardie, up on the balcony.
Jack always told a great story. I spent most of my primary school years in Perth, and the history of the Goldfields was a big past of our history classes, along with Dirk Hartog and other explorers of the West.
