  • MrBro was first introduced to UA-cam in a MrBeast video titled "I Gave My Brother 24 Hours To Spend $100,000", and while CJ did a pretty reasonable job at maintaining an average monthly view count of between 1 and 4 million, however he'd post a total of only 29 full length videos before disappearing from the platform around 10 months ago. Why was this the case, and why wasn't MrBro as big of a success as his brother MrBeast on the platform? Was his attachment to MrBeast's branding a hinderance or an advantage? Did MrBro even have the initial motivation to grow his channel to the same size as MrBeast's? This will be explored throughout this video, as we cover -
Why MrBeast's Brother Didn't Succeed On UA-cam. (MrBro)

Being called an offbrand channel because of your own brother's success can be extremely demotivating I imagine.

The fact that the channel was called “MrBro” was already set for failure. That name screamed “hey look at me, I’m that one guy’s brother!” Instead of having his own identity.

I think CJ should make his channel like a behind the scenes reality tv type of channel with Jimmy. Original, but still relates directly to Mr.Beast

    • @OverRule1
      @OverRule1 Рік тому +11

Jimmy should of just told his brother to make his own videos from scratch with no help or anyone knowing he is his brother for about two years and then when CJ he gets basic understanding of what unique style he wants to create and an appreciation for content creating he could then say he is his brother. He shouldn't just open his channel as MrBeasts brother, that is doomed to fail because you are setting high expectations as a newbie.

Back in highschool my older brother was extremely popular with girls. The boys also respected him for his reputation. So I always get noticed by so many people and they know me as "his brother"
I've always hated that, I can't believe someone would actually want that "reputation" and call/describe themselves only as "I am this guy's brother".

I can relate. My older sister was known to be the troublemaker, the bad sheep of high school. When I started high school, she already graduated. However, all the teachers initially said, "Oh, your X's little brother. I hope you won't be a troublemaker like X."
In the end, by sophomore year I wasn't referred as X's little brother (passed school with honors and almost 4.0 GPA).

Saaaameee. My sister was a year older, trouble, lazy, liked to party and get around. I was known as her sister till i proved that i wasn’t like her. Shitty to be known for someone else’s reputation whether its good or bad, especially when you did nothing to earn it.

Same. In the church we attend, my brother is very popular. So whenever I get introduced to someone I never met, the people who are with me would always be like, "she's ____ brother!". Same thing with work. My brother formerly worked as a piano teacher at a tutorial center, and then years later I would voluntary teach kids to read at the same center. Everyone there was like, "Your brother is this, your brother is that". Its annoying and it just makes me jealous tbh that I cant be identified as my own person

as a man with an older brother, replicating his personality for any amount of time would get exhausting pretty quick. as that was basically what CJ was doing, i'm confident in saying that's the main reason he quit. or went on hiatus.

Karl is a great example of success through MrBeast. He was already working hard on his streaming career via Twitch, once he got himself into more and more MrBeast videos, larger audiences clung to Karl, and joining the Dream SMP made that an even larger audience. The key difference here is that Karl actually came up with his own Storyline for the Dream SMP. He always did his own things and stayed true to himself. Where as "MrBro" was just sort of thrown at the audience and was expected to be enjoyed. I feel like they should've slowly introduced him into MrBeast videos and allow us the time to get to know him. Than he could've done his own thing from that point.

Doing UA-cam professionally to that level just from the start with no prior experience on the platform besides the fact that your brother is a UA-camr is in my opinion harder when it comes to building your online presence. He probably had the best of intentions with being like his brother but his heart was probably just not in it. This shows that even small channels go through that curve.

I think CJ's main problem is he was focused on the success his brother made, and not the process that made him achieved the success. From what I understand, Jimmy provided help to his brother in terms of funding and manpower for production and marketing and advertising, but Jimmy probably never intended for his brother to literally copy him. CJ's focus went into achieving success that his brother had, instead of just making content for the sake of making content and sharing his passion. He was too focused on being MrBeast's brother, and not CJ, maybe because he was not interested on content creation, but the success that he thought that would come along with it.
I believe if CJ was passionate about content creation in the first place and not just gunning for the same success his brother had, he would have not needed to be associated to his brother's content and would not need for his brother to finance and promote his content for him.

Mr beast and his friends, especially chandler and Chris, earned our emotional connection due to their incredible chemistry with each other. Beast was in the same problem as his brother when he first started, since he didn't look and feel confident, but gradually earned the trust, and respect of the audience by learning and improving. Mr beast learned how to talk, how to come up with hilarious gags, how to engage with chandler and chris among others in a natural and entertaining way, and he also learned the perfect rhythm of how to make the beginning, middle, and end of his videos extremely enjoyable.

The success / money comes from the grind and isn't even the main reason you're doing it, bc you love it.

As someone who has a burning passion for something (sewing and creating what I feel like) completely different from UA-cam I can take one look at CJ and tell he has non of that within himself. You could argue that he possibly could redirect his channel and actually do well and maybe he’ll love it. But hearing interviews with Mr. Beast and his passion for UA-cam I understand Jimmys mindset and heart. I have the same drive within me, when he explains his mental and emotional state with UA-cam I can relate similarly with that feeling with my own sewing and seamstress adventures. Completely different passions yes, but the same drive and passion. You can tell that CJ doesn’t have that at all. Even CJ himself said he remembers Jimmy staying up super late to create videos that would only get like 100 views. Been there done that with my passion. This is such an interesting subject for me because I can relate to Jimmy in regards to how passionate he is with what he loves. In no way do I compare myself directly to him or think I’ll ever be at that level I just understand the feeling, but CJ? Was never there. It’s obvious.

The effort put in by this man is insane and he deserves where he is today 100%.
MrBro is not like that. He has only 30 uploads from the start of his channel. He got everything handed to him and was able to get a jumpstart from his brother's succes. This kind of reminds me of royal dynasties. For great reference, the first king/queen will start off rocky then go on to create something good, but when the crown passes down, the new royal is just expected to follow in sed footsteps. Therefore if not obvious enough, yes, it’s a lot of pressure to be like mr beast, especially if your related of all things.

It is so nice of mr beast to be supportive or even be the coach of his brother. Most of the people would have the “YOU DONT DESERVE UA-cam SUCCESS, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WENT THROUGH” mentality when put into a similar situation

There's a chance that CJ might've wanted to go his own seperate path, but the only way he knew was in the footsteps of his brother, and unfortunately couldn't find himself out of it.

Branding, like mentioned in the video, is a large part of your channel. If I were to brand and advertise myself as Jimmy’s nephew/niece, which I am not, it will only get me so far. Eventually, I will either have to make a new brand for myself OR roll with that brand and hope that it takes me far. A new brand is what CJ needs and he needs to take a step back and really change his editing style and content ideas. From what I see, they are both very alike, though the editing I am fine with bcos Jimmy prolly gave his brother his old editors to help him. The content and branding is what takes you very far into a channel, and original stuff is the best way to go unless you clickbait people

It's just that he was living off as mr beast's shadow and people only subbed to him because he was the brother of mr beast when i think he should've made unique content to not be given such a comparison

I started watching mr.bro after he was on mr.beasts video and I knew right away he was just trying to clone his brother, but I actually liked him and I expected him to slowly get more different than his brother but, I guess he had enough. Hope he's successful in whatever is next for him.

Wow... As a Greenville native, this is my first time hearing of his brother...somehow. Never met Jimmy but have friends who've crossed paths with him & ended up either in videos and/or getting crazy tips. I was overly critical about the launch of his Burgers, but seeing the impact he's had trying to tackle starvation on a local & broader scale...made me appreciate him & the content even more. I think if CJ had that in mind from the start, maybe it wouldn't have gathered more clicks...idk. I wish CJ a second wind! It's hard being thrown into this rapidly evolving platform. I would love to have a fraction of Mr Bro's views, most local youtubers like us don't get far as CJ did.

Jimmy and Chris are just such a homegrown dynamic charismatic duo that is impossible to duplicate.
If we look at his early videos that are just popping of that are him and Chris you can see why they were able to grow
CJ and many others just don’t have that

  • @CallytheCalicoCat

Honestly, this is very true. You have to go through the rough patches. I still sometimes get 5 or less views, but that just shows what I shouldn't do. CJ never went through that, and so he just copied MrBeast.

id also like to mention, a lot of youtubers who have been relevent for a long time and have a huge following and then recently lost a lot of their following, they continue to do their content because it shows to their still existing viewers that they will still stick around, and that still provides for constant cash flow, because that will always be better than going out and getting a job when youve spent so much time and effort on this life for yourself just to go back to rock bottom, and if you keep at it, you might find relevancy once again
