I haven't. However, I keep my tonearms at a height of 3, and there is plenty of room with these dustcovers. I think the dome looks better though. It looks more like an actual Technics cover.
Hi there Droid! I just ran across your video and I wanted to ask you a question. With the dust covers installed as you have them here, can you easily pop them completely off the turntables from the hinge assembly without unscrewing them? The reason I ask is when dj'ing we like to completely remove them for vinyl and then quickly put them back on when switching dj's in order to set Pioneer CDJ's on the top of the covers for the digital folks. Makes for a great, quick club setup.
I have these that came with hinges and mounted them in the exact same way. They look great. However, how did you attach hinges to the lid? Mine were loose so they just slip out. Are they supppsed to be glued?
@@DroidApproved mine are probably just crap then-I may glue the flaps to the lid so they are solid (they are screwed on the Technics originals) as at the moment the hinge keeps falling down the back of the unit where my turntables are if I lift off the lid.
Good vid! I ended up going ahead and getting the reloop cover for my 1200mk2 as well. When you attached yours what screws did you end up using? The 1200 screws have locked washers on them that prevents them from fitting in the reloop hinge bracket.
Do you think the RP7000 cover would fit on a technics 1200? I like the look of it more with the bubble over the tonearm, but worried the hinges won’t line up/too much overhang.
I don't know, but I agree with you about the dome over the tone arm. It looks more like a proper Technics cover. I haven't tried that one out, and I haven't seen anything about it online.
It depends on the model. If you have the mk5, you'll need self tapping screws. For the mk2, you might need to take the hinge mount off to get to the mounting bar.
Hi I just received two of these covers but I just realized the screws are too small for the holes that have my Technics on the back mounts. Did you replace them or how you did it. I’m afraid I won’t be able to attach them 👎🏽
Well I tried to ude the screws that came with the reloop covers but it didn’t fit with the original mounting plates of the Technics. Going to Home Depot now to find a different screws 🤷🏽♂️
Great video thanks for this, I've gone ahead and ordered 2 exact same one for 1200's just wondering have you thought about changing the reloop sticker on the lid? Technics sell or used to sell it i can't for life of me find it or the part number but its out there defnietly exists
Personally, I'm fine with the Reloop logo on the lid. I just want my tonearms protected from my cats. If you find the Technics logo for dust covers, I'd appreciate if you could drop the link here so other people can find them as well. Thanks for watching.
@@DroidApproved I will Droid ,going to look at couple of options if i can't source the original Technics Quartz sticker I'll see about get one made up either way I'll keep you informed, awesome set up btw 👍
@@ikeepretro www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/m1200.htm Has the Holo sticker, not sure if that's what you meant, as it's different than the little stamp that's normally on the dust cover

I have another model the SL-1700. These will not fit that. I took my original (which is cracked) to a seller of an original SL1200 dust cover and the position for the hinges were at a different position. The SL-1500 - the 70s turntable dust cover looks the same as mine. One option would be to buy a newly made dust cover on ebay with no hinges on the back and cut the holes and gaps yourself. There are people making acrylic dust covers.
I bought the same after watching your video. They fit perfectly
40$. Nice
Do the brackets come with cover I'm going to order some thanks in advance
Yes. They come with hinges and mounts.
Nice vid amigo. You can’t beat that price I have 4 1200’s that need it Thx for sharing. You did your homework 🙏
Good FYI. There are companies that do the stickon metal badge engraving, have them make a custom label for you.
FADERWAVE RADIO!
I got one thank you for sharing
Great price
Have you tried the Reloop RP7000 dust cover model? It has the snall dome for the tonearm base.
I haven't. However, I keep my tonearms at a height of 3, and there is plenty of room with these dustcovers. I think the dome looks better though. It looks more like an actual Technics cover.

Yup. They slip on and off no problem, just like regular Technics dust covers. Thanks for watching.

I don't remember for sure, but I think I used the Technics screws. I don't have washers on mine.
I know this is late but I used custom screws washers and inner bracket to fit the lower hinge. I could make a video if I get enough interest.

Are these as simple as just screwing into the back? Or do you have to open up the turntable and instal the hinges?

A dust cover that doesn't even fit? Id honestly pass and pay whatever it takes to get something that fits perfectly. Im ocd like that
yeah, an "alternative" that says Reloop on the lid. I would never hire you for DJ work with a substitute like that.
