Your video is extremely valuable & informative for anyone using these cards. Fantastic job on demo & explaining the process on how to set up, secure. & how these cards work. Awsome job!
You'll need your primary card imported. It only imports the raddress and marks it as card account. It DOES NOT import the private key from your primary card. So technically it'll be a readonly account. It's important to import primary card, as Xaman can detect your backup card as a regular key account of your primary card. That way Xaman presents you both options while signing from your primary card account. Regards, Satish
The private keys are generated inside the chip, in the card, and can't be exctracted. That's why you can link a second account (card / ...) to your XRPL account, so you can recover from account loss.
Serious question here. Wouldn't just keeping your private keys written down in multiple secure places actually be safer? I mean lose your card, lose your funds. It's pretty easy to lose a small card like that, whereas I can write down my keys and keep them in multiple secure places. What am I missing?
It only depends on the need of the person. If you can keep your private key written down at multiple places and then secure it from everyone else, then good. But if you think it's hard to secure the piece of paper and also secure that piece of paper from others, then it's good to consider cold storage options(like Xumm Tangem Card). About losing the card: there are many instances where people lose their card or even their dog chewing the card. That's exactly why we always recommend having 2 cards. One as primary card(which you put in a safe place / vault) and another signing(backup) card, which you regularly use to make the transaction on behalf of your primary card. If you lose any of these card, you always can replace it without losing the funds in it. It's also explained in last part of the video: ua-cam.com/video/ToFt-G7LXuY/v-deo.html Thank you .. Regards, Satish
1. Get a new phone. Install Xaman. 2. Import the raddress of your primary card in readonly mode(While importing do not select Tangem Card - as you don't have physical access to the primary card any more). 3. Add your backup card(while importing, import it as Tangem Card), and access the funds in your primary card using your backup card. If you are not clear with any steps mentioned above, please contact support from in-app support xApp. I hope you get access to your funds. Cheers 👍 Regards, Satish
@@XamanApp Thank you a lot! That worked! I think it MUST be included in a video. Such a situation can happen very easily. You keep your primary card in a safe at your home country. While travelling in other countries you loose your phone. You go and buy a new cheap one to finish your trip. But you need your XAMAN wallet. But you have only backup card. I was trying to recover my funds, but unsuccessfully. I was just trying to add Tangem backup card and hoped that process will be somehow easy. Everything in XAMAN works so easy and with intuition. But not this time. I knew that somehow it is possible to recover my funds with backup card. But could not find any info nor in Tangem page nor elsewhere. I spend quite a lot time thinking what the process should be step by step, but unsuccessfully. I am not pro user, but I am not a beginner also. Maybe this process should be easier (if possible). It's just an idea for you to think if it's needed to be done somehow easier under such situation. Anyways, thank you! Hope somebody will find this info useful in the future!
I'm glad that you got access to your funds. Honestly I didn't think of this scenario while making the video. Maybe we will write about it, so that others in similar situation can resolve their issue. Thank you for your feedback and I'm sure others will find it helpful. 👍 Regards, Satish
Not really. With paper wallet you cannot sign, unless you import your secret keys into a wallet or you yourself write code to sign the payload and also the secret is exposed(known - at least to you. In which case you need to safe gaurd it). With Tangem card, you can use it to sign transactions without exposing your secret key. And the secret keys are never exposed to anyone, not even to you! For setting up the new phone, do I really need the primary one or can I just use the backup?

Where are the private keys in case to move funds to another wallet???

I have lost my phone and primary card? What should I do? I only have back up card. Video does not cover my case. Thanks.

Can Xaman use with Tangem 2.0 card ?
We have not tried yet.
Then the card is like a paper wallet?
Not really.
