what's aged the best? “Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time”
When Bill and the boys are trying to tell what are the best scenes…Every scene is hilarious and smart and funny and totally rewatchable!!!
48:11 the luke wilson could be harrison ford hottest take award
Two things in the first 15 minutes.
1. This WAS Vince Vaughan come back. It saved his career and opened up all the doors for him after 2003. If he doesn’t nail this role Wedding Crashers doesn’t exist.
2. Starsky and Hutch was a funny movie and casted very well. Why was it a miss? Most people I know loved it and still do 20 years later.
I love Frank the tank get hit with the dart and falls in the pool.😂😂😅😅
Farrell in "Land of the Lost" is underrated. Movie is damn funny.
Dan Band. “I fucking need you now tonight! I fucking need you more than ever!” While Frank and Marissa are like wtf? 😂
For being a self-proclaimed big Eddie Murphy guy, Bill is forgetting fake purse ninjas and fails to mention Bowfinger often when talking 90s Eddie Murphy’s
The DVD extras are almost as good as the movie itself. Movie commentary with the entire cast as well as a mock inside the actor's studio skit that is hilarious and insane.
bro shout out Chris Ryan he sees the Luke Wilson vision, I've been on this train too.
And Swingers cannot be overrated. Impossible.
I think starsky and hutch is an amazing movie I saw it on my 13th birthday with all my friends and I didn't realize it was frowned upon by others
“They say it can puncture the skin of a rhino from 100..”
Apocalypse Now would be amazing.. the themes of that movie could be talked about and debated for 2 hours
I think the Luke Wilson hot-take has SOME merit to it. If a few years ago someone said to me that Jim from the office would make a great Jack Ryan, they'd be in clear and present danger of a slap to the face. But here we are, John Krasinski, a soon to be bona fide action STAR. Chris Pratt's trajectory from buffoon to bad ass has also been astonishing. Those two are arguably much better actors though but at this point, you might be asking yourself, "Why am I holding this 30-pound cinder block in my hands?" You might also ask yourself, "Why does this cinder block have a long piece of string tied to it?" And finally, "Why is the other end of this string tied securely to your penis?"
Underrated comment
Would love to see y'all bantering on camera sometime!
this aged the best
I love that this became a Godfather podcast 😂
Starsky and Hutch earned $170 million worldwide on a $60 million budget. Would hardly call that a bump in the road for all involved. Not a great movie, but watch it again. Its pretty damn funny.
Man Starsky and Hutch was hilarious! The Dan Band are in it as well
You're my boy, Bill!
Ryen Russillo is the easy choice to be the Craig Kilborn role
Can you guys make one about Almost Famous (Directors Cut)?? I can watch that movie on repeat for the rest of my life!
You gentlemen are too blinded by Kilbourne's awful acting to realize the brilliance of the line, "Good talk, see ya out there."
I am a movie quote aficionado and there is no movie line that I quote more often. Almost everyday.
Hey there... Has anyone had trouble downloading from Soundcloud or does the Ringer not use that medium for podcasts anymore? Love the content always!
Funny to keep hearing Wedding Crashers added to Todd Phillips filmography and for such big film guys who are fans of Phillips and Wedding Crashers, it's a pretty big detail to get wrong. David Dobkin directed Wedding Crashers, it just feels like a Phillips imitation movie, not hard to get wrong if you DON'T care that much about movies but you google these for all these podcasts so come on fellow movie nerds, shape up!
The Kilborn role would just go to a star athlete these days, I think. Someone who does commercials. I'd say the Gronk. Maybe Odell Beckham.
bryan callen is great on Schooled
LIZ KELLEY'S VOICE O_____O IS LIKE MUSIC TO MY EARS
[me, to UA-cam email notifications of Ringer video uploads]
And I need you now tonight,
And I [expletive] need you more than ever!
Missed out on so many good quotes, like "Hey Blue! How come there's no ice in my lemonade? You drop down and you give me 10!" or "What do you think Max, it's got three speeds." or "I can see Blue, he looks GLORIOUS!" or "I want to put a shout-out to the Godfather. If it wasn't for you Mitch, I'd probably be dead, face down in a drained pool somewhere." or "We can't have anyone freaking out out there! We've got to keep our composure!" (Chair banging ensues)
No offense but none of those are good.
Joel Klatt for the Kilborn role. Easily. They even look similar.
I think Clay Travis is today's Craig Kilborn
How do they not discuss the fact that this movie was a loose parody of Fight Club?
Review Swingers
All the music is from the 80’s
Hell yeah easy money!
Shout out to Bryan Callen love that guy!
That’s aged poorly
This one was funny.
Starsky and Hutch was fine.
You guys really overrate Swingers. Kilborn blows.
I miss when they used to make comedies. Movies are trash now.
Do Goodfellas please
Pan down, I want bush.
Comedy sequels dont work ? 22 jump street
Why are these guys glossing over Vince Vaughn's brilliant performance in Made?
i wish they mentioned vacancy...luke wilson in that film is really solid...its mostly a drama for a long part of it and he carries it cause the women hes with is just average and nothing else is on screen so he has to carry long heavy scenes of tension and he pulled it off...i am shocked...thats a mediocre film he makes way better...its mostly filmed in one room or area and he carries it....i was shocked that was the same person i could not take seriously in that 70's show a couple years prior and seemed like a terrible actor ...he doesn't play himself which is key he actually is a character that helped
The gay owl Callen lives on!
Luke Wilson isn't funny. No screen presence. He's just trying to keep up.
Hey! Bill, Chris and Sean. How are you guys supposed to be movie fans? The whole Luke Wilson Harrison Ford action path debate and not bring up Behind Enemy Lines? Talk about perfect half assed internet history research. Not to mention you guys are supposed Gene Hackman fans as well, and he is also in that movie. (interesting side-note: Gene Hackman also played Owen Wilsons father in Royal Tenenbaums.) Behind Enemy Lines is not a great movie but its an actual case example for the whole Luke Wilson action star debate. C'mon, you guys dropped the ball on that one. Gezzuz Fuck, talk about hitting the rim on a Slam Dunk.
it was Owen WIlson in Behind Enemy Lines, not Luke
Damn got those two mixed up, Fuck me. I missed the backboard on that one. Here I lay, a big steaming pile of Shit. Good catch @@aepr84 . My apologies to the Ringer crew. Love the podcasts keep that shit rolling. Really you guys should do an ep every week.
Old school wasn't funny. Roger was right
