i think it is coming back. the problem is in dance music most producers dont know how to work with its sound. its EXTREMELY easy to go overboard with the sax sound, but if u do it right, its prolly the best sound in dance music. i have a few tunes that have sax solos in my collection and these songs have TRULY inspired me to create good dance music with that sound, but first i gotta get tings right.
@@undeny i have a lot of synthwave on vinyl and i must disagree. there are a lot of synth pads, and sax synth pads/sounds, but raw analog sax sound, no, the opposite is true. and i agree there should definitely be more. plus i was a child in the 80s so u can never get enough of that sound. PLUS i played the alto sax many moons ago in high school. sax is awesome. specifically tenor sax. oooo yes.

I remember a more classy era when Fred Myers had a lot of light fixtures and brass looking stuff for sell when they would play Saxophone music in the early 90s. An era that kids today will be hard pressed to experience in life. I had the lucky experience of working at a dying K-mart as well that just seemed so much more well built than todays plastic veneer everything with fake prints on top of it. Even back then they still built stuff cheaply but not quite as cheaply as they do now.

To me, the saxophone is the best sounding instrument, followed by a spanish guitar when it comes to either chill music or romantic music. FYI the guy on the cover art reminds me of clarence simmons.
My god these songs are magnificent! Especially Running Out of Time by Max Cruise! I have never heard a song that makes me want to drop everything and start dancing. Sway to the beat yes, dance like mad no. pure eargasm.
I don't usually care for vocalized retrowave, but after listening to PRIZM more I have to say that I'm now a believer. They're like all the best aspects of female 80's pop rolled together; the youthful exuberance of Madonna and Paula Abdul, with the soul and vocal range of Whitney Houston. Big fan now.
I like part 1's background better. The cyberpunk vibe from the city was fitting to the synthwave music. I'm kind of surprised that there was only one song from The Midnight on part 2. Regardless, parts 1 and 2 are great!
@@RetrowaveTouch thanks for giving these lesser known artists a chance as well their music is truly brilliant, it is just not famous. I hope one day these lesser known artists also make it big.

At first I thought it was a pic of Hugo from SF, then after reading your comment and checking who is Tim Cappello, I must say the design its true to his image.

Just like the bagpipes that's a seriously underrated instrument.
Synthwave is criminally undersaxaphoned.
Thanks for this.
It so is! Such a perfect blend of sounds
Not at all, if anything sax is the most overused instrument after the synths itself in the genre

nice art portrait to Timmy Cappello, I love the movie to The Lost Boys, 1987
It's animation from the video clip of Dark All Day by Gunship (available in UA-cam)

I love how someone made an anime version of The Lost Boys Sexy Sax guy
That’s actually a real guy…. And he really plays sax. UA-cam Gunship.
Lmao I just found this today and said the same thing lol
Ahhhhh.... The Saxophone. The overlooked hero of the 80's sound. Pair it with some killer electric guitar and you've got a winning combo!
All Fleccas and Richard Ratboy fans are gonna make this video get a bunch more plays!🥲
Bro, Sax with Synth is perfection!
Tim capello, aka the sax man from the lost boys movie
Ahhh Capello
I thought that was who that was
the true answer. I still believe. funny it wasnt his song, it was The Call's. both versions are great tho.
Capello was also back then the saxophonist of Tina Turner...
'Bout time we get some sax candy!
