Your reaction to the Black Knight and the ending was the best I've seen. Most people stare at the black screen utterly bemused and disappointed but you got the "let's pull the rug out from under the audience for our own amusement" vibe. I love WTH endings. The movie Birdy had a great one where you think the title character commits suicide by jumping off the roof of a building only to reveal he's only a few feet down on the roof of an adjoining building.
@@dustywaynemusic6297 I'd question that as almost every other reaction movie has comments explaining the ending was a literal (non-spoiler) C. O. I described the ending's *SPOILER ALERT* black screen, something to which most movie's fade at the end, and *SPOILER ALERT* the filmmakers pulling the rug out from under the audience, a trait in almost all Monty Python movies and sketches. If you were joking about the vagueness being a spoiler, my apologies for responding to it as if it was a rebuttal and bravo for the early morning laugh.
Not only did you predict AND understand the ending. YOU APPRECIATED IT! That's damned near unheard of. It takes most people a while of stewing over it to really absorb it. It's a literal "cop out". Nicely done. You should consider watching Monty Pythons Flying Circus series or at least Monty Pythons Life of Brian.
As a first-time viewer, "shut the fuck up" is the most handy response to every passing moment. Monty Python did everything in their power to be silly. And it worked.

35:45 They added the music for home release in case people thought there was a fault with their copy. In the cinema, the lights would come up, or they’d switch to a different film.
Funny thing is "killer rabbit" is a recurring character in Medieval artwork; sometimes posing as a lancer in human armor, and other times sniping fools with a longbow. Between that and the Frenchman's period-accurate trash-talking, this film is more historically rooted than it lets on
Love the Breakfast Club shirt JL. Sadly, I missed the premiere due to your copyright issues and timing but it was as great as all your reactions. My hats off to both you JL and Blank for bringing this masterpiece to us through your eyes!! Nothing but love and respect!!
The French called him "Arthur, King" and then called the knights (he pronounced it funny, treating the "K" like a separate syllable, which the French often do, and then did something similar with the multiple consonants at the end, so Knights came out like) "Ken-Nig-its". It took me YEARS to realize what he was saying. I didn't see anyone else mention this, so I will ... they ran out of ideas so, the end of the movie is a literal "cop-out".

In real life, of course, it was so tragic and could've turned out so much better if they haden't been more interested in making money than making passengers safe. .... Also, really enjoyed your loving dogs. Whare are their names?. I also have a dog, a girl named Ace, that loves to go under the covers on my bed but when it gets too warm....out she comes. lol I also love your little brown dog....the reaction to try to make you smile with his or her antics was so loving and caring. But, they were both so concerned when you cried. Now I'm about to watch your reaction to Holy Grail. I love this movie....I'm 73 and have watched it when it came out and many times since. My favorite scene is the fight in the forest. Always makes me laugh like crazy. I'll continue to watch your reactions. :)
"Are elderberries bad?" Interestingly, in medieval times, elderberry was one of the cheapest and most readily available ingredients for making alcohol, making this the equivalent of "Your dad overcooks meth" as a burn.
I have probably watched this movie fifty times and it never gets old. It has got to be one of the funniest movies of all time. I really enjoyed your reaction and I am glad you liked it. I can recite some of the scenes word for word.
the latin chant you hear the monks doing, and Arthur's clergymen do during the reveal of the Holy Hand Grenade is an excerpt from the Dies Irae which goes "Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem" which pretty much translates to "Dear Lord Jesus, please give us a break", which fits the purpose.
Fun fact: it used to be very common to have the credits at the start of the film. It wasn't until the late 60s that they started putting them at the end. It was a way to make sure everyone was acknowledged for their effort, not just the stars, the director, and producers. As film making became more advanced and complicated they needed larger crews (making the credits longer), so now it just makes to have them always put to the end because otherwise it would be too time consuming for audiences. When this film was made, credits at the beginning was still normal.
Oh I’m sooo glad you loved this movie. Always happy to find another Monty Python fan. Now on to Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life followed closely by Flying Circus. Enjoy!
I loved the "coconut" conversation(s), the "song of Sir Robin", the Black Night scene and the "Bridge of Death" scene the most. Now, I want to tell you to not feel bad about the "going on the cart" scene ... EVERY reactor seems to have not learned about that part of history in school, or don't pick up on it when they see the scene but, there was a plague all over Europe back then (it really happened between 1346 and 1351, NOT in 932.AD) called, The Black Plague. FYI, when it hit, so many people were dying all at once that the only way to dispose of the bodies is to put them on carts, haul them away and burn them, en masse. Unfortunately, it's what really made the plague worse, because the germs were NOT killed by fire and just became airborne, making it even worse than it already was. Anyway, THAT is what that scene was referring to.
I've seen a bunch of reactions to this great film, but I think yours might be the best one ever. I don't think you could give the Pythons a better reward for their absolutely silly comedy than that giant smile on your face as the movie was coming up to the end. Simply beautiful. Well done!
The trivia on this movie is just UNBELIEVABLE! There’s just too much of it.; from the actual historical references to the reasons they filmed the way they did. I’ll just drop the one: the screamed “Run away” because it’s set before the French conquered England. The French word “retreat” hadn’t entered the language yet.
Fun fact: Eric Idle when playing the guy who's picking up dead people is asked by John Cleese's character as Arthur is "galloping" along, "Who's that then?" Idle's response "Don't know, must be a king." Cleese asks "Why"? Idle's response, "Cause he hasn't got shit all over him." That was completely ad libbed
These boys were geniuses. Before this movie they had the TV Show, Monty Python's Flying Circus. As they were planning out the final season and trying to work on a fallow up movie idea, they suddenly noticed the returning final season bit of Arthur and the Holy Grail would actually play better as the movie. So as the final episodes were going out, the boys were looking up locations, and finding out despite having a higher budget, they still needed to cut things, in the end gave up on hiring horses for the film, making locations for a couple of decent sized castles possible to film at. Did so well, they made at least 2 more films before also going into solo film careers in the mid 80's, and time and again having some fun cameo work with each other. They lost a few members over the years, but were always up for a reunion run when it came up, and always kept in touch.
The French knights were pronouncing "knights" as "k-nig-hts" (because English makes no sense), and since Elderberries make wine (Elton John had a popular song about it before this movie), he was saying his father was a public drunk.
I quoted that part one time in high school. My classmates started to freak out because they thought I said "THE WORD," but I had to explain the shit out of how I said the word "knights," and it was from this movie.

Too many quotable lines in this film and the comedy has stood the test of time. Still cracks me up to this day. 😂❤
22:34 Best use of “Ni!” I’ve ever heard!😂
Your reaction to the Black Knight and the ending was the best I've seen. Most people stare at the black screen utterly bemused and disappointed but you got the "let's pull the rug out from under the audience for our own amusement" vibe. I love WTH endings. The movie Birdy had a great one where you think the title character commits suicide by jumping off the roof of a building only to reveal he's only a few feet down on the roof of an adjoining building.
Spoiler alert
Montey Python were both the writers and actors in this movie. They were all graduates of Cambridge and Oxford. They had a BBC series way back. Monty Python's Flying Circus.
I'm glad you laughed your arse off. These guys were masters of comedy, and they have more movies.
35:45 They added the music for home release in case people thought there was a fault with their copy. In the cinema, the lights would come up, or they’d switch to a different film.
Graham Chapman yelling “Jesus Christ” never gets old
Oh man - you get it! Now you absolutely have to watch The Life of Brian!!
From the moment it started, you had and ear to ear smile that reminded me of a kid in a candy store. You once again never fail to amaze me and make my die laughing. Never thought in my lifetime, someone would bring up R Kelly and someone smelling of old turtle balls in a Monty Python film but here we are.
I used to use that "bring out your dead" term when picking up test equipment on a cart during a graveyard shift 😂
22:33 "If you DON'T subscribe, I shall say 'NI!' to you!!"
But... but... I already subscribed!!
One of my top five movie of all time. I can’t wait for the Bunny scene.
I'll never grow tired of watching Monty Python.❤
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!
(and the jumpscares, the stfu's, and the laughs!)
Your comment on the historians death..." He was killed by a drive by swording!" 😂😂
16:12 Dog was not impressed with the singing! LMAO.
I love your flat stare into the camera whenever they do something particularly silly. XD This movie is so brilliant! 😂
I've just watched your reaction to Titanic. You have a sweet soul. The movie was amazing, I've seen it before but loved your reaction to it. :)
Living for how much fun you had with this movie.
After watching several of your movie reactions. You would a blast to sit down and watch them with you.
Keep up the great reactions.
"Are elderberries bad?" Interestingly, in medieval times, elderberry was one of the cheapest and most readily available ingredients for making alcohol, making this the equivalent of "Your dad overcooks meth" as a burn.
These geniuses had a hilarious TV show back in the 70s. Monty Python's Flying Circus. Based on the movie reaction, you might enjoy!
Please consider TIME BANDITS (1982). It stars the Monty Python cast, James Bond, Bilbo, and R2D2
I have probably watched this movie fifty times and it never gets old. It has got to be one of the funniest movies of all time. I really enjoyed your reaction and I am glad you liked it. I can recite some of the scenes word for word.
the black screen at the end is one of my fav gags (because they were sacked)
glad you enjoyed the silliness so much lol
OLD TURTLE BALLS OMG 😂
the latin chant you hear the monks doing, and Arthur's clergymen do during the reveal of the Holy Hand Grenade is an excerpt from the Dies Irae which goes "Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem" which pretty much translates to "Dear Lord Jesus, please give us a break", which fits the purpose.
You are too cute watching these movies. It reminds me of movie nights with my sister. Wonderful memories
Oh I’m sooo glad you loved this movie. Always happy to find another Monty Python fan. Now on to Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life followed closely by Flying Circus.
Enjoy!
The French soldier said,”… you so-called Arthur King”. In case you were wondering what that word was. This was a great reaction. Subscribed. 🙂
Actually he was questioning the 'Knight' part when he said 'Ni-giht' ...."you so called Kni-ght" the Frenchman said.
British humor is next level. Really happy that you could appreciate it. You would really enjoy all of Monty Python's stuff.
The absolute silliness of this movie is what make it’s absolutely fantastic!!!
Run away! Run away !!! 😂
Bridgekeeper: What is the capital of Assyria?
Me: Nineveh!
Knight: I don't know that!
Me: I do! Thanks Veggietales.
The black knight truly is invincible but Excalibur is a really good sword
My grandfather always used to wear a t shirt with the black knight and the tis but a flesh wound quote.
The look on your face when you saw the horses lmao! Or should I say the nonhorses lol!
“He must be a king. He hasn’t got sheet all over him” 👑
I've seen a bunch of reactions to this great film, but I think yours might be the best one ever. I don't think you could give the Pythons a better reward for their absolutely silly comedy than that giant smile on your face as the movie was coming up to the end. Simply beautiful. Well done!
Monty Python show is amazing, as well. The Dead Parrot, pure comedy
So happy you got that credits gag. It's such a subtle comedy but so fucking funny when remember
We can all use a little bit of this silliness in our lives.
I was waiting for that look on your face when they were about to come over the hill in the beginning🥥🐎 😂😂🤣😂
The R-Kelly stuff was funny. My shields telling me nooooo, but my sword, my sword's telling me yeah-es
I love seeing people get to the end, waiting for a post credit scene.😂
Great reaction. Most people get disoriented when first watching anything Python, but you picked it right up.
10:47 “So-called ‘Arthur King’ and your silly English K-nigg-hts!” (Knights)
That music at the end is the most savage mockery of the Arthur legend I can imagine. God bless you, you got it!
The number of times I have quoted this movie are numerous, and it's still not old 😂🫶🏻
Dude I saw this when I was like 10 yrs.
old like 40 years ago ,laughed my pants off then , now 40 years later still stands the test of time.
These guys were way ahead of their time.
But ,I hate to break it to you buddy ,no
mooses in this ,nope !
Lol, lol !
One of the foundational movies of slapstick comedy. It's not frequently recommended, but if you love this style of insane comedy, you'd love Weird Al's UHF. Keep it locked down JL. Great reaction as always.
Lancelot was setup, nobody in Arthur’s posse had a horse!!
You should have had a "shut the f*ck up" counter on screen 🤣
Def gonna try to get it sorted out.
