Interesting fact: In the Japanese dub, Vegeta explains that the Ginyu Force was scheduled to invade Yardrat after going to Namek. So that's why Goku's ship ended up there. It was already pre-programmed to go there.
I don’t think that was said in any dub or the manga, it has been a head canon of many for years though because of some other statements made in the series, vut it has not been confirmed

The better explanation, even though it may be considered a weak one, is that they are Saiyans and love to fight tougher opponents instead of just wishing the problem away like many human characters.

@@eternallyg First of all, if you have any other explanation other than plot armor or plot whole then feel free to say so. Second of all, the point that he wants to be immortal so that he can get stronger by losing and again than wishing that Frieza is destroyed makes the point for my case. But then again the dragon balls can't destroy being of certain power label also. Point is you can assume it is something the writer didn't think about or accept that this is the explanation like most people.
The genius of Goku and piccolo attacking Gohan at the same time. They know that they'll be fighting opponents who fight two against One and so they're preparing him for that.

You know what I just realized after all these years? Goku doesn't exactly react with overwhelming happiness when he sees Krillin alive again. Not that he doesn't care, but you'd assume after his best friend's death which drove him over the edge to Super Saiyan, he'd like, idk, hug him or something upon seeing him again. Just my thought on that, though I'm sure he knew Krillin was alive again after sensing his energy. Would've been nice to see though.
It's the Japanese culture. The Japanese don't really hug, even best friends. They are way less touchy than people in western culture.

I know the basic conception is instant transmission is a light speed. That's actually another dub mistranslation.
Instant transmission is.... Instant. It's essentially *teleportation.* That's why no matter how fast Goku or even his opponent gets, instant transmission will always remain relevant because nothing can outpace "instant" the only drawback is Goku's concentrated focus.

Bulma's suggestion is the most reasonable. However we have to keep in mind that Saiyan's psychology is totally different than human's. Their mindset are like athletes, very competitive and crave for challenges. In the manga, both Vegeta and Goku prefer to fight the Cyborgs rather than stopping Dr Gero prematurely, and are agreed by Tien and Piccolo with the same mindset. Krillin is going along since they need a bigger threat to keep Vegeta and Piccolo on the same team. Bulma has to give up since no one is supporting her. So this is not a plothole as many have suggested, just different psychology.
Is it psychological or more philosophical with how saiyans were brought up and born tho? Cause they don't really have that "intellectual evolution instinct" as humans does, since saiyans usually only apply their saiyan's heritage of "survival of the fittest" old ways mentality and pretty much that primal brain functions, nothing really to "adavnced" in their species compared to humans, that's why they based their livelihood on brute strength and why saiyans can live longer than humans, but humans have a better way of Evolving from their primitive mentality to more civilized sophisticated mentality, maybe that's why someone like Dr. Gero can create something like androids on planet earth while the saiyans planet don't have anything close to that type of advancement in technology like that with their premature brain functions???
No it’s a plot hole covered by the fact that Saiyans like to fight. Even Vegeta pretended to be Friezas dog cuz he knew he wasn’t powerful enough to stop him. U don’t think Goku and Vegeta would have agreed to wish that Frieza disappeared on namek rather than fighting him? And they kept saying 3 years isn’t long enough to find the balls and locate gero even tho we’ve seen them locate the dragon balls in much much much shorter time frames. And gero HAS done something wrong he literally was supposed to die when Goku first stopped red ribbon. And he’s been working on the androids since that time gero undoubtedly is working on them while they speak like trunks said. I love dbz but this is just one of those plot problems
It funny cause I been watching DBZ over and over since age 10 and just realize Bulma could have save so much time. It a huge plothole to me lol. But DBZ is about fighting. With the dragon radar they could solve the issue in a day. Even if Goku and Vegeta wanted to fight. Tien weak ass should have known better. And krillen.

3 years are just when the androids are supposed to appear doesn’t mean the good doctor wouldn’t have created the androids by that time. Truth be told I’m pretty sure he’s already created some of them by this time.
I believe at this time he is still working on them. They haven't had the first rebellion against him yet. He probably has finished #19 and has himself become #20.

Isn't it funny how King Kai is supposed to be the keeper of North Galaxy but he hardly knows anything going on there? I mean hell they didn't even need to use the dragon balls to find Dr. Gero's lab. They could have just asked King Kai.
Or Kami. In fact its a plot hole that Kami himself didn't stop Gero. Considering how well prepared Kami always like to be when he knows a threat is coming like with Piccolo Jr and the Sayians. Kami would have taken no chances and sent Mr.Popo to stomp out Gero.

I think the original translation says they all wanted to fight... as in face and challenge their destiny, and that's why they didn't want to preemptively kill Dr. Gero.
By vegeta saying it was because of the time it will take to find the dragon balls, it kinda of create some contradictions, since Trunks could just have gotten even earlier than he did, and they would had time to make their wish
Trunks didn't want to impact history more than he had to, especially history around his parents. There's no way he would change the Saiyan or Namek sagas, so Goku's return is the first good chance he had for the Android/heart virus conversation.
By that point, Gero is too far into the project to safely assassinate him. Both Vegeta's "bad plan" argument and Goku's "that's murder" argument hold up, even if they were added by the dub.

These Yardrats Introduced some legendary moves to the show without us seeing much of them.
Bulma was always right. They could have used the dragonballs to find Gero and kept tabs on him over the years until he "made" the androids and then stopped him. Or they could have used it to destroy his lab and all of his research which would have delayed his plans, he likely would have died from old age before completing his work from the ground up again. It was a great idea but the plot armor was stronger.
Or arrested Gero for his war crimes in dragon ball. Gero at this point was not an innocent man. He had already created Andriods and machines that had killed people.
I actually agree with Bulmas idea but it’s DBZ logic lmao. If the logic is Gero hasn’t done anything yet then the alternative is get his location by using the dragon balls and you can monitor Gero and just destroy the lab.
My favorite arc but has a few plot holes due to the op power of the dragon balls.
Cell is a pretty dumb arc for plot and story.
Goku's whole argument is, it would be wrong to travel back in time and kill baby Hitler.
But at this point Gero had already committed war crimes and killed people with his early androids from Dragon Ball. So Gokus argument is wrong. Gero was not innocent.

The line about finding the Dragon balls would take up too much time is dub error, which doesn’t make any sense either. If Popo was able to locate the Dragonballs for the wish to bring back the people killed by Frieza in like minutes, how come three years would be too short of a time to find them, especially when they have the dragon radar and Goku can just teleport there.
In reality in the manga, Goku and Vegeta just wanted to fight the androids and accept the challenge instead of cheaply destroying Gero. Very stupid, but very Saiyan lol

Yha sadly bulma doesn't understand a warriors heart they would never take a cheap way out to win a fight. I mean i'm not surprised she caught all of this stuff yet since she sees how warriors are like. Yes using the dragon balls to find dr gero was a good idea but at the same time do you really want to waste dragon balls like that were you have to wait a whole year to find it and this is before they upgraded their radar to.
An even bigger plot hole is why did future bulma not just send trunks to like a year before the androids showed up to tell him to find the dragon balls to find gero or at least send piccolo to namek so they could get those balls or at least give Goku the antidote so he could fight in the upcoming battle. Going three years before the androids show up to tell them to train and still having a chance that they won’t be strong enough is just the most dragon ball logic I’ve ever seen

Plus Gero did do something wrong. He was one of the masterminds behind the red ribbon army and got away. Never being punished for his war crimes. Its like if the Nazi Henrich Himmler escaped after ww2 and was never prsecuted and just continued his experiments in some cave..so they should have gone find Gero and prosecuted and put him on jail at the very least if not executed.
Yamcha and Bulma used to be a couple I think they were the first people they'd ever been with. Yamcha messed up the relationship and now he's desperately trying to get her back.

It's good seeing the Z fighters are taking their training seriously, especially Gohan since he wants to be as strong as Piccolo and his Dad. As for Yamcha saying he would train at his own pace. I kinda feel he should've trained with Krillin. He just came back from training with King Kai and beat Recomme single handily. You would think that should've gave him motivation to train alot harder than he was in the other world. What do you guys think?
If Yamcha, Krillin, and Tien all trained together they probably would have been much better off.

If Trunks says that the Androids are ruthless of any enemy they faced it should let them have a sense of urgency to train harder you know, even develop some new techniques for crying out loud.

This was a plothole for sure.. Bulma was right on this one. They could've easily found the Dragon Balls within 3 years, asked the Dragon to kill Gero/Androids or ask him Gero's location. But as you know we won't have a story if they kept solving every problem with DBs 😂

Madison was completely right about getting to Gero, 3 years is a ridiculously long time to collect the Dragon Balls and get to him. It's really a plot hole but if we want to explain it in any way I think the best one is that Saiyans relish fighting.

7:42 is this a dub error or would it really take 3 years to find the dragonballs? I seriously doubt it because they have a dragonball radar and all the Z Fighters can fly pretty quickly so they would be able to find them fast. The plot just needed a better reason for them waiting so wanting to fight the Androids regardless made it make sense.

Interesting enough the last time Chichi was around Goku when he was healthy, his PL was 900+ at his max. Two and a half years later he's over 160,000 times stronger than that. She got off easy with that slap.

The plan doesn’t make any sense because it’s a dub error. They could locate the Dragon balls in a day with Goku’s teleportation and Dragon radar, but Goku and Vegeta being saiyan’s wanted to challenge them and fight them.

Funny thing is that the androids are already made 17 and 18 are just sealed away because Dr gero wants more control but can’t fix that problem so he made 16 and 19…the most controllable androids he has…and if they found gero right away not even goku would be strong enough because he had a pretty hard time trying to handle 19 after training hard for 3 years and perfecting and honing super saiyan…death would’ve been inevitable if they acted right away…

There is nothing they can do other then train and see if what Trunks says comes true. Funny moment with Mr. Cool Krillin and another ridiculous moment with Mr. Pervert Master Roshi. Mr. Prince of all Saiyans acting like a spoiled child but he is determined to reach Supersaiyan status and reclaim what he thinks is his all given right to be the most powerful Saiyan. Mr. Adorable Yamcha thinking the baby could be his because Mr. blabber mouth Goku spilled that info. Nice start of a training session with Goku, Piccolo and Gohan. Got to love Gohan's determination.

Them knowing about all dying when fighting the androids changes history, so even though it seems like theyre walking into a trap they can actually be extra prepared to fight.
Also, Madison isn’t wrong about finding alternatives in order to find Dr. Gero. I don’t really understand the logic either but it’s to build the plot, lmao. Because the Z Fighters don’t know where he is. You can’t trace an Android because they’re not living and don’t give off power signals. But the Z Fighters can fly!
