Find out all about Tasks in Microsoft Teams, which combines Planner together with To Do: ua-cam.com/video/FJaICKh5kR8/v-deo.html
Thank you, Isaac.
Can tasks that are repeated monthly be scheduled???
is there a good way to use this but in the SharePoint environment?
My school is using Microsoft through and through. Your videos really helped me to start the Microsoft ecosystem. Thank you!
I love the way Kevin's calm and pleasant voice explains these videos - he's definitely the best tutor / tutorials I've seen. Keep up the great work Kevin :)
This was exactly what i needed! I've used both applications, but didn't know how to link the 2. Quick and easy tutorial. Great work!
Thanks for the video, Kevin. My team has been using Planner via Teams since 2020. We track our projects by year. The problem we've run into is that some of our projects (cards) have more than one asset to it. Rather than creating a separate task/card for each asset (some can be as many as 96 different social media graphics for one project), we've been using a Label called "Multiple Assets" and add the number of total assets a particular card has in its name. For example: Project A - 5 would show that this project has 5 assets to it that we want to count at the end of the year. So, when we go to the Charts tab, it will show the number of projects in that channel/tab, however it won't add up the individual assets for a card into the total number. So, if my team has completed 10 projects, the Chart tab will show that. But, if two of the cards have multiple assets (such as Project A - 5 and Project B - 5), the Chart tab won't show that we've actually completed 19 projects. I have to manually count the total number of assets for that year. Does that make sense? Is there a way to count all assets without making a separate task for each item?
Thank you very much! Didn’t know this existed & I’m a post it person. This is going to change my life, and your video is the cliffs notes. I’m exhausted in bed, it’s late and this actually inspires me to want to get up and set it up! TY TY TY!!
Really appreciate your videos! It is easy to understand and thorough enough to cover all the essential basic to let us kick start with experimenting. Thanks!
Such a great tutorial. We are trying to implement a business process with multiple phases and tasks underneath each. Thank you, Kevin.
Nice. Thanks! Didn't know this existed even though we've been on teams for a while now.
I submitted a proposal to job that I have no idea what I am getting into lol. I've worked as an Office 365 support back in 2018-19 and I think your videos can really help get up to speed.
I just subscribed to your channel and I hope that you upload more videos related to Office 365.
Seriously, you're a great teacher!
Thank you Kevin! Shout out from Redmond. Great info on Planner. I love this app. Thanks so much for sharing your brain.
Great illustration of how to organize projects in Teams!
Just wanted to quickly stop by and say thank you very much for this great video.
Thanks for the video Kevin it really helped, and I saw your reply on my last comment I just wanted to say thank you for supporting my youtube channel.
Great video. I love how all of these applications link together. One thing I would like to see in Planner is a dependency relationship where completion of one task triggers a notification to the owner of next task in line.
That struck me as a key feature that is missing. I love the Automation aspect you mention as well.
Exactly what I am looking for. Is there any other aap who can do that ?
Microsoft Project does that
@@usmctodoc Very expensive solution. Yes, it does a lot more, has many more features. We need something in between.
@@abhijeetindap81 ClickUp can do that. I’d recommend watching a few video tutorials. It’s also easy to find answers in their knowledge base or using Google. According to ClickUp: “You'll receive a notification when a task dependency is added, unlinked, or when a task becomes unblocked. If you have the Dependency Warning ClickApp enabled, ClickUp will display an incomplete warning if you attempt to close a task that is waiting on another task.”
This presentation was very helpful. And the presenter has a good voice for training.
Love to see how to use the various tools for project planning for managing high school at home. So many options and integration seems more on the backlog than current feature set.
Great video Kevin! Planner is a great tool, and I enjoy working with it. Would love the ability to see who completed subtasks when multiple people are assigned to a single task (something like the person's profile with time/date stamp). Would love the ability to use the @ symbol to message someone specifically when multiple people are assigned to a task. This would eliminate other team members from being emailed on correspondence about the task that do not directly require their attention. They can always review the dialog from the task board but not be bothered with emails. Hope Microsoft will consider this. Looking forward to more useful features within Planner. Thanks!
Thank you! Nice instruction and easy to follow. Someone just told me about MS Planner and after seeing the video, I am really excited to use it.
Thanks Kevin,
It was really very informative.... We are going up with Planner next week and this will give me a boost to prepare an SOP.
Your way of explanation is really awesome and to the point. Love your videos. Thanks for uploading.

Very well explained 🙏
Commenting for the algorithm.
Very helpful, thank you.
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial, Kevin! MS Planner is now my new best friend!
this is exactly what my team needs. Great video.
Love your concise and efficient style of presenting material....bravo!
As of May 4 2021 this is now a purple icon in Teams and it's named "Tasks by Planner and To Do".
Thanks. I was searching all over the place
Thank you.
Excellent video. I stumbled upon your video trying to find an introductory video and I found gold instead! Thanks for the excellent video content!
Thanks, Kevin! Very helpful video. One thing I didn't see you cover is how to export information from Planner.
Thank you so much for your video, it is really helpful and now I can start using this lovely tools with out any problem.
Good job Kevin! Your videos are very informative. Keep it up man!
Great as always, i was searching for a project planner. thanks
You're excellent at Microsoft Office products. Thanks for teaching the grobe
Kevin, are you looking over my shoulder? Just yesterday I needed to make a table of contents in Word and just like that there you were with a solution. Right now I'm looking into Planner, and look, there you are. You are creeping me out lol :-). Great content and presentation as ever. Thank you.
I'm currently working on it as well!
To be honest, it's annoying that we can't assign Checklist items to different team members nor give those due dates
So helpful! I have been trying to find something like this. I agree with other commenters, that I would like to see a way to link tasks also, for instance if Jon Doe needs to do X before Jane Doe can do Y successfully, there should be some sort of a "nested" task, wherein Jon Doe's "X" is the main task and Jane's "Y" is the nested task, so that once Jon marks his task as complete, Jane's shows up as needing to be completed.
ah nice video man. My company recently started using teams and right now still kinda figuring out how to use all these cool stuff. Thanks!
Great video, thank you!
Great videos Kevin we are going to use this to create our 1st project in planner :) thank you
Thanks for the video Dude, keep the good work. :)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the video
Awesome, Thank you so much!
Very well done! Thanks.
Thanks Kevin. You actually do simplify it.
Love your videos, always concise and informative
Stunning! Thank you
Great, thx! Would appreciate a video on how to use Planner across multiple teams/departments, so that I can view boards by each team/department, but then also in the aggregate, ensuring department members only view their own buckets.
Thanks for uploading this video.
Great job. Thanks! It will be helpful if you can produce a video on "MS Planner for Agile PI Planning".
Great stuff Kevin, thank so much!
Hi Kevin , Thanks for the Microsoft product videos, it is very good and useful
Hi Kevin - Two important features are missing in Paid version of Teams. Adding the schedule at a particular time slot (Such as 10 AM to 1 PM) and also the days on which task to be carried out. Such as starting from 1 Jan 2020 to 1 Feb 2020 every alternate day, or every Monday etc.
Excellent overview. With this I will get started. Thanks.
Hi Kevin, Great job explaining using different scenarios and options. Can you please show how to use MS Forms in Teams and how to have it auto-assign tasks/notifications?
Thanks a lot for this video Kevin, i think it'll help me a lot cause we are using all this apps in my company and we don't even know how they work lol
Hi, thanks for a great video ... is there a way to duplicate a bucket of tasks with different due dates for projects that recur each week?
Thanks Kevin - Nice presentation
Fantastic overview! Thanks!
thank you very much for the simpfied manner of teaching
Thx Kevin. Great video. Simple and clear.
Hi Kevin - GREAT video. thank you - quick question, can we change the name of the labels? or is that not available for that feature yet? thanks!
Good job. Keep diving into the examples.
Very helpful video. Now I’m inspired to use this in our company.
Thank You So Much!
Excellent video. Thanks so much!
In Teams the Planner icon is now a purple checklist icon... this drove me mad when I was clicking the very similar icon, the Projects icon and after two days of this... eureka!!!! I can read. Great video by the way.
Hello Kevin!
Thanks yr videos are so clear to understand and follow.
May I ask if the planner can be used as a template since e tasks are recurring mthly?
Cheers
MS Planner is already quite good. Some features have to evolve (labels, shared cards across boards, emails to board etc.) but it is on the right track.
Very informative! God Bless you for your work!!😁
Great overview, thanks so much!!
Wonder full Vedio .... Thanks a lot...
pretty much to the point. Thanks Kevin!
Hey Kevin, very interesting video, thanks a lot! Very usefull! I have an additional/personal question to this on the use of Planner in an Architecture firm which I'm in. I'm searching for a way to organize it better. So the main thing is that each time we have a new project coming up, it goes through 18 phases from the beginning till the end. And each phase has subtasks. Now I tried to organize it like: a new project = a new bucket. In each bucket you have 18 tasks (phases of the project). Each task has subtasks to complete. That's one way. I just watched your video here and came up with the idea of: Set up 18 buckets with the different phase each project goes through and then assign new projects as a new task and by completing subtasks en when time passes, move that task to the next bucket, ... I am trying to figure out which one of these methods would be more efficient to use and the best one. Do you have any advice on this? Hope to receive your reply, thank you in advance!! Kind regards, Kenny
Great presentation. Thanks
Thanks Kevin! This was super informative!
Thanks! I could not figure out how to view completed tasks until you brought up "View Progress"
Great Job and Thank You!
I really enjoyed this video - the Planner is does have some great features - very much a Kanban style of management. My only frustration at the moment is Outlook integration - with my task list. I'm trying to figure out if that currently can be done.
Strangely, it does send me an e-mail telling me I have an outstanding task due, but then I have to turn that into an actual Outlook Task.
Good work Kevin.
Excellent tutorial as usual. Thank you
Thanks Kevin, that was great to learn how to link the programs together.
Thank you for this video this good 👍
Thanks for the video. I learned a lot.
Thanks Kevin for the video. My questions : 1. Can planner exports the task list under the buckets? 2. Does planner identify tasks those are completed by late to due date?
waw your explanation is 100% good thank you
Great videos. Thank you. Is there any way that you could show how to manage individuals rather than teams using Planner. When I have a 1-on-1 I need to see all the tasks of the individual across teams but I cant seem to do that. How do you advise running similar meetings?
Thanks. Well presented.
tip: set speed 1.25x or 1.5x.
Great video btw!!
like a charm!!
This is awesome! thanks!
Hi Kevin, can we add estimated and actual hours for each task?
Great video direct and too the point.
Very helpful. Many thanks
Very nice summary
You're the BEST!
Very good way of explaining makes it very easy to understand
do you have a more in depth about the sorting and filtering? Can you sort all your tabs? I created about 14 different ones for projects but cannot find how to filter all of them. Or is it better to place the 14 different projects under 1 tab and have each project be a bucket?
Great instructional video, Kevin. Quick question -- any sense when Microsoft will fix the glitch so that Planner is available in private channels, rather than just within the Team?
Great intro, will be using with my team. I saw the export to excel feature and wondered if there is a solution to import into something like "Gantt project planner". I know it sounds silly, but I need to show project progress to the board and they prefer seeing something like that. I can write my own VB to automate this, but why reinvent the wheel.. :)
Hi Kevin, thanks for the video! It would be great if there werde the possibility to add a status for a task, like on hold, in review, with client, with third party or something similar instead of just not started, in progress, and finished. Do you know if Microsoft plans to change this or is there the possibility to change it myself? Thanks in advance.
So great. Thank you. Love your chanel
