That's not how it works, unfortunately. If Chad didn't get a good defense it could lead to even more money being wasted by putting on a second trial. I'm with you, he's insufferable, but he's putting on as good of a defense as he can and that should be enough for no appeals being granted.
Prior says "some of my experts".. he's making it sound like he has loads iof them lined up! I I think he's nearly done, and defense will rest by Friday at the latest
