      4K for a Rigol, wow that’s more than this Keysight at current prices.

    Unplug these scopes from the power socket when not in use, the power supplies on these models are notorious for burning up the main filter capacitor as they have 4 2W resistors right beneath the DC filter cap on the smps, over a period of time this cap dries out and the power supply goes up in smoke and costs over 1000 GBP. Good option is to replace the capacitor perodically say 2 years cycle.

    Well done, I bet you're over the moon

      @JohnB-2021  Рік тому

      I wouldn’t say ‘over the moon’ since I didn’t expect a firmware failure on a quality scope. I am pleased I got it fixed for free though not sure how long it will last. Thank you for your comments.

    Yeah, the high-end companies can really be dirtbags when it comes to wanting a bunch of money just to help you out with something simple. I try to stay with legacy-equipment that already has the capabilities I need.
    Wait till they discover the ‘subscriber-model’- LOL 😢

      @@JohnB-2021 another reason that they like to just deal with businesses, as they know that businesses can simply write off any expenses as a single “cost of doing business ‘; as a result, there is a lot less of a purchase barrier, than would be with a private individual. They also know, that there is less of a chance that that company will spend time dillydallying around, trying to find a solution on their own; they will simply pay the money so that they can get back online.
      Just discovered your channel you have a lot of really great videos; I’ve been getting into pic micro processors, so I am very interested to look into your catalog. So thank you for providing your channel and your videos!

      @@SpinStar1956 Wow, thank you for the additional information on commercial buying vs end user and a big thank you for the feedback on my videos.
      I do love using Pic micro-controllers, I’ve completed a few big projects including my own fast fonts, external bus interface with 1 meg of sd ram and finally the Pic32 with an Epson driver, the latter having alpha blending.
      What IDE are you using?
      Thank you again for your comments.😁

      @@supermarketsweeps At Mouser they are 45 pence each and Digikey are 50 pence each. Mouser and Digikey have min charge to get free delivery. Same with Farnell. Just look for the values you mentioned from any one. It must be some sort of current sense if it's not an amplifier etc.
