I want to install a newer radio in my avalon, i’m 55 and grew up working on cars with my dad, what you guys are doing is the only way to learn! lots have changed since the 70s, and I still working on old cars, yes i’m a girl.
Joshua Vaughn my XL from 2001 has a silver leather bench. It’s nice sometimes but sucks half the other times (like when you have crap in your console and want to move it up)
Hey bro i just put a radio in my Avalon and I have power but no sound sure it has something to do with the factory amplifier if u could help please!!!!
Nice video. I have the same car with the same steering column mounted gear shift. It makes this car the easiest I've owned in regards to installing a radio. There's nothing under the radio that you have to mess with.
Hey about to install a Pioneer single den in my wifes avalon ,should i disconnect the battery for the anti thieft system. If it trips the car wont start. I know some cars u can do that on
This video was extremely helpful because I have the same car, and system. The main problem I am having right now, is I soddered all of the other wires correctly, and the radio comes on, but there is no sound from the speakers. I would like to know where you connected the white blue, green and grey RCA cables, because I connected them to the unit, and I still cant get any sound from my speakers. I wish for those I could have had regular wires that I could have soddered just like the other ones. So I am asking if you used those rca cables, because that part wasnt in the video. Thanks alot for the video by the way.
I used the RCA cables, the RCA cables correspond to front left and right speakers and back left and right speakers, those RCA cables coming from the harness lI plugged in to the stereo in the correct places according to the manual for which one is front right, front left, back right, and back left. Also, Do you get sound on disc or Bluetooth? - Nathon @ Lawless Garage
I tried sound on radio and on bluetooth, and still no sound. I also tried calling, and I couldnt hear the person on the other line, although they could hear me.. My new stereo doesnt say front right, front left, back right, and back left like yours. It says RCA-R, Aux-R, RCA-L, & Aux-L where the red and white connectors are. I tried many combinations, but I still didnt get any sound out of the speakers.
When I change into a new touch-screen player, the original blue screen with temperature display has not any signal. How should I connect to the original blue screen that can be displayed normally? Thanks.
Did you notice a major difference in the output of the JBL system from upgrading just the head unit from the stock one? I was thinking about just getting a new amp for my Avalon and just leaving the stock head unit.

That's what I was wondering

Does this car have a jbl subwoofer?
This car does judging by the wood grain trim (meaning it's an XLS which has JBL sound system)
James Erikson correct. It also says jbl on the factory radio
Where can I buy that black dash piece that goes around the stereo? Thank you!

Could you send a picture through? You might also want to check fuses and your ground.
You may not have gotten the right harness.. Do you have the model number or info on the system / Picture of the harness.

Yeah, We never upgraded the stock JBL's in the car and it sounded amazing. Actually sounds better than the e60 this car replaced. (Sound System Wise)
Wat size is the radio ??
6.2inch?
I wanna make sure it fits
6.95 Inches.
