Fledging means different things for different nests and species. On this nest (Sydney White Bellied Sea Eagles) an eaglet is considered to have fledged when it flies to a branch that it not part of the nest tree. This was an offical fledge by eaglet SE33 as s/he made her first flight to the adjacent tree. Not long after this flight, the eaglet took off further into the forest and is not expected to return, thought it will likely be seen/heard around the area for some time.
I'm with you.Looks like a branch hopper but probably getting close to fledging. On first fledge, some go a considerable distance and let parents find them to feed them. Some like Home Nest turf---but not Necessarily confined to this Eagle or even this raptor type. Glad for the progress being made as Young Adult Eagles. Have watched since hatched chicks and happy dad and mom kept them fed, cutting down on Bonking stuff. Watched last yr also and same result then. Good Parenting all around.
Well you can stop sharing now, the eldest is injured and in medical care and the youngest was found unwell, assessed blind and has been euthanised as of November 12, 2024.
wow very nice bro
What a beautiful perfect tree surrounded but beautiful wonderful habitat for magnificent wildlife
SE33 and SE34 flies free and high 💔🦅😢🌈
Congratulations to E33 poor E34 is all alone on the live feed at least it will get more food😅

SE34 was looking around like where did my sibling just go 😂😂😂
It looked like a fledge...when they fledge it's their first flight. They still come back for meals from their parents while they learn
he/she is still out and about. 😊
I doubt the one fladge. It's a branch. Hopper. It is exploring. It cannot even eat by itself, and defend itself. I doubt a fledge happen.

@michaelhalahan they both fledged, unfortunately 34 is dead.
Was that a fledge or did s/he went on a branch?
