Two good examples: pencil sharpener and bird. I notice that the basic shapes are not erased when details are added, and that implies very light strokes to start with. Well worth watching.
I spent all day today making shapes and warping them in any direction, by the end of the day i put them together and got myself my first "real" attempt at making a human body! its very exciting! so exciting that all i see now is "hmm that is a square, thats a circle" and its currently 5.30am and i cant sleep cuz i cant stop thinking of SHAPES.

I like your videos and I feel like I’m learning from them, but I’m going to offer some constructive criticism, Fair warning!: You’re speaking slowly, but the video is sped up. It’s hard to reconcile the difference in tempo when I’m listening to you but then I look up and you’re 10 steps ahead. In the (beginners🙋♂️) shoe drawing you said to do the most shaded/dark parts first, ,but around 2:00 you make the circle, do a little shading, BUT then jump around adding details all over just to come back and darken the shade in that circle... Sorry for bitching about your wonderful tutorials, sincerely! Why not shade that circle completely before jumping around ? Also, that invisible-ish cursor is SO hard to follow it just seems like your drawings progress magically and I don’t understand the ‘stroke? The pacing during the initial box was snaillike compared to how quick you went as it got more complicated, I think inverting that relationship would be super beneficial! Andddd this is why I can’t smoke weed and go on UA-cam Thanks dude love your help i still am terrible but I kinda am learning? “Go home I’m drunk” - everyone

A great reminder about the importance of simplifying (which is important for even those of us who have been drawing for some time!)
I've been drawing my whole life and I can relate
Just decided to learn how to draw. The part about learning how to see basic shapes sounds like good advice, thanks.
how's the process coming along? i want to start aswell
@@itachi_shakur893 how's you progress? I just started a week ago. Doing pretty great now.

Agreed
@@mycelia_ow hello again :))
Basic shapes really help when you’re drawing. Thanks for making this video. ✏️
I wish while drawing on the screen you would post the actual item you are looking at for all to see. This would help.

Simplifying everything is the epitome of my learning process, I’ve gotten decent at drawing because of simplification of the thing I’m drawing
This was really good for beginners. Thank you. I'm a lil bit more advanced but I can share this with friends.
two things to take notice is
the angle of the object you're looking at
and the adjusting of the right size of elements within an object
One of the best videos to help a beginner I have ever seen thank you very much
I love the classes but I cannot find how to access the members classes . I specifically would like the watercolor workshop. Thanks, Judith
this improves my sons drawing.

Thank you! : )
Its like modeling ok
thx man
awesome
It's like wilddeling cheese
that was my problem at the beginning i focused to much on the finished product instead of the basic shapes
Nice
Am I the only one who thinks the bird is easier than the sharpener?
It's the proportions I struggle with.
Er reverse for mine
But,but I, the hardest part was the rectangle
so i followed your steps but my bird looks like it has 3 months to live
😅😂
