    Just to share experience riding this with 400cc above group. Definitely felt left out during open road. But on the twisties if u had a big ball boleh la acah acah kejar dorg.
    In terms of power, or those "kaki top speed" 250cc definitely a better buy. But for those yg nak nmpk acah² pakai serupabike tp nak jimat minyak n maintainance like a kapchai, this r15 is a good buy. Plus its fun riding slow bike fast than riding fast bike slow. Haha

    Tested my friend's R1S the other day, and all i can say is, its very sporty for its class. Ive never ridden a sub 250ccc bike, especially a single cylinder that needed revs to get going, except 2 strokes haha, and it was fun !
    It encourages you to take corners faster due to the riding position, and it makes you learn to keep the rpm boiling since its not strong at low rpm. And with the slipper clutch, you definitely not afraid to mess up a downshift or two until you nailed it perfectly. Such an amazing little sporty machine for people who wants to learn to go fast around corners.
    My only gripe with it is, it should've been a 200cc to make it competitive with KTM Rc200, and pulsar rs200. More punch from bigger cc. And since its not even a 150cc ( its 155 ), it doesnt makes sense for it not being 200cc, if im not mistaken, the roadtax bracket for 155cc is already counted as 200cc. And the price is already the same as 200cc too.

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  3 роки тому +6

      Maybe Yammy was lazy to develop a proper 200 just jack the NVX engine put it in as the heart of the R15 easier job like that.. Otherwise we could be looking at a 200cc NVX? That would be nice.. Also by doing so they are disturbing their 250 range bikes.. Just my guess..

    • @iodineclip
      @iodineclip 3 роки тому +3

      @@thesighbored agreed. Probably stuck it as 155cc to sold it internationally too, as in indonesia, where maybe the lower the cc, the lower the tax.
      But they do have the 125cc version for UK market. Oh well it is wht it is then haha
      And yeahh i think the 250cc market could use a little spice. Being stagnant for quite some time already.

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  3 роки тому +5

      ZX-25R could be the spice for 250 class.. Pricey but spicy.. Haha

    its my third bike for fun ride with friends and its actually a nice bike, i used it daily and even for long trip.
    its not really make your ass riped for long trip, just carefull with the accelaration if you first have sport bike cause you will feel like big bike on the road.
    its fun to ride but when you play with higher cc like 250 or 200 then you'll try to catch them.
    for cornering this bike is really top notch, i really like the mobility of this bike.
    ride safe guys, enjoy the bike.

    Amazing review! I really wish they sold the R15 here in the US, I’ve been in the motorcycle community for years and I just found out last night that were were smaller YZF-R bikes than the R3. aiyo unker sighbot dah review r15, I owned this bike since launch (around Feb 2019). I'm 21 now, retty good bike to rip around town and have some safe (relatively hehe) highway hooligan fun with my friends. going to class is good too since I can lane split when I wake up late and the fc is very good. 20 ringgit can last me a week and a half, only problem is takda bumbung so every time hujan kena basah. but i guess i made that decision a long time ago. so its best that prospectus owners to get a gf with a car :) Definitely looking to get something with a bit more power once i graduate uni, the new husqvarna coming in to malaysia looks like my sort of thing.

    This will be a really fun bike on a kart track. To solve the soft front suspension, you can use more viscous fork oil or change to a higher spring rate. Nice R1S. 😛

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  Рік тому

      Yup can swap in thicker/heavier fork oil to stiffen up the suspension, that is the cheaper option than swapping out springs, if the heavier oil is not enough, then can opt to change the springs..

  • @hafizgeain7702
    @hafizgeain7702 3 роки тому +5

    For newbies better go for this bike against 250, especially transitions to fairings bike from moped. You will learn a lot on what to do and what no to do before upgrading to higher CC's (cornering, rev match and etc).
    Plus side owning this wouldn't hurt your pocket at all even to use it daily. Good fuel consumption and moped-like maintenance cost.
    Of course the major down side is on the speed, which I don't think a huge problem. Just my 2 cents, better to skip 250 if all you need is better speed.

    • @thesighbored

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  Рік тому

      If you just swap out the end muffler keeping the stock pipes and headers as plug and play, normally it should be OK, but if you modified the system such as chopping the pipes or a full system.. Then it's advisable to get it dyno-ed and tuned. If you are unsure you can always get it dyno-ed first and see the result, not necessarily need to tune if you just want to dyno it.

      If it's your first time, you will probably feel some aches as your body is not conditioned yet, but after a few times you should get used to it. Even though the forward lean is not as much as sports bike but if you practice using your lower body/core then you won't feel the fatigue that much. Imo i wouldn't really recommend the R15 the position is abit aggressive for me probs cuz im relatively tall (180cm) i would recommend u make the jump up to a 250. im riding a Z250 now and it's really enjoyable the sound of the parallel twin also has a nicer note

      If you plan to be using it long term maybe a 250 since it's the biggest in B2 class before you finally go up to the next one. Choice between a naked or sport bike is up to you to decide which you prefer..

      I didn't see the original, but if there's a link or clamp on the muffler joining the pipe then yes it's possible. If there is none (welded as one piece) then you either have to chop it and join the muffler or get a full system with the muffler.

    Bro nak tanya, kalau r15 ni standard kilang bleh terus letak ekzos aftermarket ke? Kalau moped cam ysuku ni kena modified dlu baru bleh tukar exhaust. Kalau yamaha r15 ni engine x sentuh still bleh tukar trus ke ekzos akropovic tu?

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  2 роки тому +1

      Kalau slip-on yang reka khas untuk moto, selalunya tak perlu sebab brand exhaust dah buat kajian supaya boleh slip-on terus tanpa tune. Kalau full system atau kena modified system pipe seperti potong/welding sebaiknya dyno dan tune lepas buat. Ramai yang modified tanpa tune, jalan macam biasa, kalau run "rich" sikit bakar minyak lebih OK lagi, kalau run "lean" bahaya boleh rosak engine.
      Kalau beli original exhaust system lebih selamat, nak beli yang imitation ikut nasib. Lebih baik buat dyno run, check status dulu, kalau perlu, baru buat tuning.

    • @farshouko143

      @@thesighbored apa contoh brand slip on yang dh direka khas untuk r15 ni?

    • @thesighbored
      @thesighbored  2 роки тому +1

      Kalau tak silap.. Tak ada slip on sebab exhaust original memang single piece tak boleh buka/pisah.. Jadi brand exhaust akan keluarkan full system exhaust. Banyak atas jalan sekarang sama ada cari kedai exhaust untuk buat custom pipe dengan muffler atau nak jimat duit, potong pipe asal dan welding muffler. Kalau buat cara ni elok bawa pergi dyno run untuk check status. Kalau dah run abang tuner akan nasihat sama ada perlu tune atau tak. Kalau perlu tune, kena keluar duit untuk beli tuning kit & kos untuk dyno + tuning.
