@@weldonwin the kind of plasma weapons we see space marines use, sure. There are more common, less efficient patterns too, that even hive gangers can get their hands on. The main reason they don't use them is that they're logistic nightmares. They need to be regularly tunes, maintained and repaired, require costly plasma cores to reload, which deplete fairly quickly. Then there's the fact that even non-overcharged plasma weapons made by the imperium have a habit of exploding for no reason. In many guard regiments, it's seen as a punishment to be issued one. Whereas lasguns need almost no maintenance, can be used as a club and still function, and require no supply lines to keep them reloaded, you can just throw them on a fire, or leave them in the sun and that will charge them. An all plasma regiment would be cool to see though. Would he great at throwing at something like chaos space marines or necrons

After watching the movement and gunplay, it plays like DOOM with heavy RPG elements. That may be the best choice for a Warhammer 40k shooter in a long time.

Enemy AI looks rather retarded too, cant say for sure but its likely difficulty only adjusts how much damage enemies dish out. Perhaps sometime next century someone will have managed to crank out a 40k game that both looks good and plays well.

All I can see are the Adventures of Kano in a universe that finally appreciates ruthless mercenary Aussies. It's also nice to see the Lasgun look and sound so satisfying: a hotshot lasgun is about as powerful as a bolt pistol, but much more accurate, so it's really a rather dangerous weapon.
honestly if i was a hive ganger id just try to make the most power gauss weapon i could though the question is. is that legal in 40k? can some ganger just try to slap a bunch of energy coils to his weapon or does that count as devloping technology thus heresey thus death?
@@wilmagregg3131 Coilguns do exist, but they're even rarer than Bolters, and aren't usually any more dangerous barring a lucky shot against heavy armor. Even against heavy armor, plasma weapons are better, and you can get ones that don't explode on the low power setting for a bit of a premium. A standard Lasgun is more modifiable, far cheaper (and far more available besides,) and it won't raise any Admech interest: the Coilgun, by contrast, will either be tech heresy (a homebuilt modification,) an STC pattern the Admech would REALLY want to study, or worst of all, alien. So basically, Coilguns aren't worth the bother unless you're already lucky and rich.
@@wilmagregg3131 the way I understand it, it isn't so much that developing new tech is heresy as much as it's impossible. There's a reason a lot of weapons are just the same but more, as in twin-linked being 2 of the weapon or storm bolters just being 3 bolters strapped together. Or why there's 50 land raider variants but no new tanks. Since AI is banned in every way, making new tech without the Emperors guidance is next to impossible. Like if you were the worlds best nuclear engineer and I gave you all the raw materials to create a reactor. Without a computer it would be literally impossible to do - or at least to do safely. But if I gave you a blueprint, with all the calculations and everything needed then sure you could build it. You could even modify it or enhance it. But you would never be able to make a new one from scratch.

@@wilmagregg3131 Most only explode when over-charged, with the Chaos ones being an exception, since they're older. If I remember right, the master crafted ones in Necromunda don't explode at all, and Cawl also created an MK3 varient that also doesn't explode, unless deliberatly overcharged. So safe Plasma Rifles do exist, and aren't any more inherently dangerous than carrying Bolter rounds, or energy packs that can go off like a grenade if they get hit.

I just recently beat the campaign, it's not as bad as everyone is saying. The reviews had me afraid to play it, and I finally did and had zero issues. Just don't go in expecting a triple A game, I never had any crashes either

They’re so far ahead of everyone else on the cultural ladder that they actually have time to worry about their appearance instead of steadily keeping an eye on their children lest they perish due to the fickle whims of the capricious gods(also called “disease,” a thing some people even today are reluctant to admit exists).

I think this game is repeating what we saw with Terminator: Resistance. The fans of the franchise thinks it's great while everyone who isn't thinks it's either mediocre or straight trash.
I'm so glad this game turned out amazing and fun, the Necromunda sub-universe has needed a good game for a long while and has never had a game hit that itch until now. Also, not a few seconds in and Rimmy is already speedrunning to turn his dog into a full Cyber-Mastiff. Never change, Rimmy.

They finally got the make their 40K RPG game like they wanted to originally. It feels quite nice to know they blew it out of the park with the concept. The Hellsing organization is very pleased with these results.

I'm glad to see that this game seems pretty good. I was honestly expecting it to be bad or at least mediocre like (let's be honest here) a decent portion of the 40k games. There's definitely some jank I saw in the video but I can forgive it with this being the early stages of launch and the game itself just generally looking fun
Another big factor too is that while Focus is quickly becoming a fairly powerful publisher at this point they're still mostly Indy in terms of business model. So I can forgive a bit of jank for a game that only going to cost me 40 or 50 bucks.
So it's movement of Titanfall, the combat of Doom, the atmosphere of Metro set in the 40K universe?

It's also nice to see the Lasgun look and sound so satisfying: a hotshot lasgun is about as powerful as a bolt pistol, but much more accurate, so it's really a rather dangerous weapon.

@@wilmagregg3131 Coilguns do exist, but they're even rarer than Bolters, and aren't usually any more dangerous barring a lucky shot against heavy armor. Even against heavy armor, plasma weapons are better, and you can get ones that don't explode on the low power setting for a bit of a premium.
A standard Lasgun is more modifiable, far cheaper (and far more available besides,) and it won't raise any Admech interest: the Coilgun, by contrast, will either be tech heresy (a homebuilt modification,) an STC pattern the Admech would REALLY want to study, or worst of all, alien.
So basically, Coilguns aren't worth the bother unless you're already lucky and rich.
@@wilmagregg3131 the way I understand it, it isn't so much that developing new tech is heresy as much as it's impossible. There's a reason a lot of weapons are just the same but more, as in twin-linked being 2 of the weapon or storm bolters just being 3 bolters strapped together. Or why there's 50 land raider variants but no new tanks.
Since AI is banned in every way, making new tech without the Emperors guidance is next to impossible. Like if you were the worlds best nuclear engineer and I gave you all the raw materials to create a reactor. Without a computer it would be literally impossible to do - or at least to do safely. But if I gave you a blueprint, with all the calculations and everything needed then sure you could build it. You could even modify it or enhance it. But you would never be able to make a new one from scratch.

@@wilmagregg3131 Most only explode when over-charged, with the Chaos ones being an exception, since they're older. If I remember right, the master crafted ones in Necromunda don't explode at all, and Cawl also created an MK3 varient that also doesn't explode, unless deliberatly overcharged.
So safe Plasma Rifles do exist, and aren't any more inherently dangerous than carrying Bolter rounds, or energy packs that can go off like a grenade if they get hit.

I just recently beat the campaign, it's not as bad as everyone is saying. The reviews had me afraid to play it, and I finally did and had zero issues. Just don't go in expecting a triple A game, I never had any crashes either

I'm so glad this game turned out amazing and fun, the Necromunda sub-universe has needed a good game for a long while and has never had a game hit that itch until now.
Also, not a few seconds in and Rimmy is already speedrunning to turn his dog into a full Cyber-Mastiff. Never change, Rimmy.
It's just straight up midnight and I have a migraine headache, but the snippet from Keep Your Rifle by Your Side got me laughing, the timing was just too good.

This game is amazing
I'm glad to see that this game seems pretty good. I was honestly expecting it to be bad or at least mediocre like (let's be honest here) a decent portion of the 40k games. There's definitely some jank I saw in the video but I can forgive it with this being the early stages of launch and the game itself just generally looking fun
Another big factor too is that while Focus is quickly becoming a fairly powerful publisher at this point they're still mostly Indy in terms of business model. So I can forgive a bit of jank for a game that only going to cost me 40 or 50 bucks.
It DOES have 59% positive reviews on steam currently.
The framerate dips are pretty jarring and the ogryns look pretty bad.
But otherwise its good
