I've owned everything you can think of. Yes Rolexes too. I have 3 Oris watches amdnhave owned many. they are aesthetically nicer than anything I've ever owned. The way the lugs hug the wrist. The overall look, beautiful attractive bracelet. Excellent bezel action in my opinion. Again, nothing looks as good. I've never ever had an issue with the Sw200 movement either.

Had an Aquis back in 2014 and wore it everyday for 2 years. Mainly to the office but also wasn't afraid to do sporting activities like ride bikes with it on the weekend, go kayaking with it, etc. I actually used the watch. While I never had any issues with accurate timekeeping at first, I was a bit disappointed by how quickly it needed a service. After 2 years, the rotor on the sw200 stopped freely self winding. As a result, it couldn't self wind after the power reserve died. After a service, it worked fine again. There is a well known and documented issue with the SW200 rotor and it's subpar reverser wheels. Look up *sellita sw200 helicopter effect spinning rotor* on google and it should be the first thread that comes up. There's also a YT video linked outlining the issue. For a more active lifestyle, these days I stick to Seiko, Omega, Breitling, Tudor, and Rolex. I think the SW200 is a great movement for the office but for anything more active AND as a daily wear, YMMV. Some will obviously never experience this issue (or may only experience it after 5 years or so because they might not wear it everyday in an active capacity) but several have with the rotor including myself. For what ti's worth, I've never had this issue with any ETA based movements or Seiko movements (which I have even shot .50 Cals with and taken golfing) . As crazy as this sounds, Seiko might just make the toughest movement out there.

I really love Oris, as you said they are a well respected manufacturer. I know my next watch would be an Oris, but I can't decide between the Aquis and the Divers Sixty Five.

If you are looking for a pure diver then it’s the Aquis. But if you already have a good diver in your collection and you want something more vintage that looks distinguished on wrist the 65 is the way. I own a 65 and it’s very dainty, delicate but has a lovely vintage appeal…..it is NOT a rugged diver that you’re gonna want to take into the ocean with you, it is strictly for looks.

Great point about the high polish, which I always avoid because such polish is a scratch magnet. The new Oris is more appealing. Thank you for the review.

Very well done Oleg. The work around for the minute jump does not worry me at all, I always turn the minute hand beyond the time and wind it back on most of my watches anyway to take up gear slack. OK it could have been done better but that would have taken more time and cost for a smaller company to absorb, the great offset that Oris offered is the 10 year service and warranty, no that is some confidence in a brand new watch movement. I think the fit on the wrist is quite dependent on the wrist shape as well as the diameter, some people are fine with it, others not so much. I have the cal400 Aquis 41.5 and it wears like a dream on my wrist, the dial is brilliantly finished and accurate as well. I would agree that the bezel feeling is not on par with higher end brands feeling just a tad agricultural in use but it is very functional and feels sturdy in use. Thanks for sharing. I hope Mr Bond is OK as he's not popped up in this review, probably on some covert operation unearthing some buried bones.

I have this watch in the blue dial, 43.5mm with the 400 cal. movement. Using the “toolwatch” app I have been tracking the accuracy of the moment since new and the first 6 months of owning I only wore it for a maximum of 4-5 hours a day the rest of the time it was in a Watch box and it ran in the -2.5 to -3.5s per day slow. Then it became my daily watch wearing it for a minimum of 10 hours a day, this is where this movement shines! It has been/is not running at a start -1 to -1.3s a day slow. The only issue that I have been having the past few months is the bezel getting almost stuck, it isn’t that I can’t get a hold of it it just takes quite a bit of force to get the bezel to move that fist click; once it releases from that fist click that it spins beautifully. I am not 100% sure but I am thinking this might have something to do with it being winter more and maybe the cold is causing it is shrink just that tiny bit….
Has anyone elts has this issue?

Good review as always my friend.
As for the polished areas aging poorly, for a watch that will not appreciate in value with time. There is nothing wrong with getting your watch polished every couple of years.

Oris Aquis is still the best dive watch you can buy under $2000 actually the best deal is on used Oris Aquis with the Selleta can be had for between $1000 to $1500 I agree the bezel doesn’t feel the best but it is very solid feeling with no back play

@@steelsteez6118 There is more to the watch then just the movement. My BB58 has 70 hours of power reserve, which although is not 120 hours, it is good enough foe me. I prefer the size and styling of the BB58.

I have the aquis depth gauge w/bracelet and rubber straps. The quick strap change feature is great, and I actually prefer to wear it on the rubber strap (although the vanilla scent is kinda weird). The depth gauge aquis still has the sw 200 which is fine by me. My one negative is one of yours, the bezel has a bit of back play. Otherwise I like the watch and for me the depth gauge feature makes the watch because it is unusual (even though I will never use that feature). I have been considering adding a second oris, maybe a pro pilot gmt next year.

So many talk about the brushed versus polished design on watches. I understand brushed is more durable long term but I like polished cases/bracelets more. Simply saying that watch brands should stop a design due to subjective opinions is crazy. That’s like saying that colored bezels are ugly. Maybe some people think that and others love them….
I have owned several Oris and really enjoy them. The only thing I missed is a quick adjust on the bracelet and the crown got stuck a few times.

The improved movement and service interval is a plus, but the issue with the minute hand jumping, which is well documented, would just tick me off considering the increased asking price. The high polished bracelet elements would also be a no no for a tool diver IMO. I'd go for the Tudor BB58 instead.

SHOULD I WAIT??? Will Oris ever release a green Aquis at 43mm with calibre400 movement?

From Oris’ website: “Calibre 400 is an entirely new movement, independently conceived by Oris, and sets the new standard for automatic mechanical movements. It has a five-day power reserve (120 hours), is highly resistant to magnetism, and comes with 10-year recommended service intervals and a 10-year warranty.”

I completely disagree with you saying this watch is worth it, or competitive to watches in the same price category. It has a movement that you cannot precisely set. You have to hope that it will jump to the place or position you want it. To me this watch isn't worth $500 with that "in-house" movements issue. No where near Breitling or Tudor!
