@@NoirChat138 Codname Panzers came out in 2004 (OMFG...how old I am 😔) and COH was released in 2006. And yes, it’s a real jewel from my lovely Homeland ☺️🇭🇺

Just my opinion, both this game and MoW are better WW2 games than CoH. CoH is a superior RTS game, but CoH feels childish, arcade.
The most fucked up thing about this game is that in german version of the game, first missions are not in Poland, but in some un-named country with a white and blue flag :)

Ah no matter whos calling the shots in Germany it's citizens shall always be censored.
I still have the original German Version. They still called it Poland there but the flag was changed.
To those wondering why the Russian officer in the cutscene says "The Germans have taken Kaliningrad", it's because that is a mistake in the English dub.
In the original (Hungarian), the town mentioned is Kalinin, which is not far north of Moscow.
I'm sure that the fact that seven tepe has to fight against his country in almost every single game makes him sad.

They must have mistook Kalinin (Tver) with Kaliningrad near Moscow (modern day Korolev).

In the spanish version he says, correctly, "Dimitrov", a town not far away from Moskva.
@@jldldr3933 Dimitrov not even in Russia (ex-RSFSR) lol. But anyway it make sense now, Dimitrov was in occupied territory.
To correct myself, the general does indeed say Kaliningrad in the spanish version too, but then inmediately orders the player to defend Dimitrov, which is what I remembered.

I remember this game from ages ago, despite it's clunk it had a lot of interesting systems, like the building clearing, and the temperature of vehicles under fire from flamethrowers. Pretty cool game.

Well nostalgia, this is a game from my childhood.
one of the few games that got TV comercials in spain! (well, phase two, not phase one, but still)
i remember seeing the TV comercials, and out of the sudden, my mother gifted it to me as a christmas surprise, also countless hours recreating spanish civil war battles in it (if you use early germans vs early soviets) and making maps with the map editor...good memories....of course now i have all 3 in my steam library

Ah yes, one thing i remember this game for and a reason why it stands out in RTS games is that it lets you play as Germans with fully fledged campaign and not some afterthought or behind DLC.
And also that it doesnt just throw you against Soviets from get go and actually shows you the stomp that was the fight against Poles and French.
Only other RTS I remember being like this is soldiers heroes of world war 2 with their Michael Wittmann campaign
Blitzkrieg duology games made by Nival also feature a full German campaign, with all units being voiced in German
As well as American campaign with units in English and Soviet in Russian(duh)

This game its part of me, without it I wouldn't be here now
Still to this day the only RTS where I can overheat tanks with flamethrowers and take them over with my own crew. It was perfection.
Technically you could do the same in Soldiers, Faces of War and then Men of War but the cocktail/flamethrower usually led to more damage to the tank rather than its overheat
@@buak809 yeah Men of War and Faces of War also had the mechanic but I think Panzers did it better, at least made sense abandoning tanks only to capture the more advanced ones from the enemy

Damn, I remember reading some article on CODENAME Panzers: Cold War in one of those old gaming magazines. They praised the fuck out of the physics engine and how a crane falling on a building always causes different destruction
