Something I recently ran across on Home Depot's website is you can order brands they don't stock...like Jet, and Grizzly power tools, big saws, and that type of stuff that Home Depot doesn't sell, they've teamed up with other companies to provide those tools through their online purchasing option.
I tried to get a price match at the loal HD 4 years ago, the lady manager refused saying that they cannot match Amazon's online price! So I ordered it from Amazon.
I always use the courtesy cut when I buy MDF because that stuff is heavy. The bad thing is sometimes they can't find someone who is authorized to use the saw.
I have often brought with me a circle saw when I go to the stores I've been to. Some times it's just easier to do it that way if they don't have equipment to easily do those cuts on full sheets
Great information Rich. I do a lot buying from either Home Depot or Home Hardware up here in Canada. Matter of fact, the table saw that I recently purchased was an on line only purchase from Home Depot. It was a King brand and was not sold in store. I saved on the free shipping to my house. Thanks again Rich.
The only bad part about HD is they limit the yearly discount for Veterans, there is a cap for a year, however, if you go to the exchange online, they have a Home Depot store.
Great information Sir, I've been learning about some of these points in the past but you do an amazing job condensing and clarifying a lot of the information. Ike R
If its a penny they can't sell it to you, it must go off the floor. If you go thru self check out and its not seem then your lucky. Don't know what they did in the past but that's how it is now.
First of all thank you for your service. As a long term HD associate it was great listening to your video explaining the perks of shopping at Home Depot. Thank you for shopping HD and keep grabbing the great bargains. Jack # 2650
Be friendly to the people who work at the lumber section and they might hook you up w the lumber they deemed unsellable (culled). You will only get one sheet of plywood at a time by I got a full 4x8 birch plywood for free. Their selection for that plywood was low and it was slightly damaged where nobody would buy it especially at current lumber prices. So instead of chipping it, they have the ability to apply this discount to customers who they deem as loyal customers.
The stocking thing is partially Incorrect. HD recieves freight pretty much daily except weekends and have overnight stock teams. So there's no stocking taking place Sat/Sun unless they already have it in the overhead.

As always, thank you for this great video! You have become my "go to" UA-cam master craftsman for questions I have on projects!
Wow, thank you! Happy to be of help. 😄
From experience: I live in Brooklyn NY, the on floor sales workers are useless as useless can get.

Or someone who knows what they’re doing lumber or material a lot of times they don’t really know how to use their own equipment properly.

Thank you! That’s great about your King table saw and the free shipping - enjoy working with it!

Great video thus far (I just sent it to my wife and I’m still watching), and I hope you do a video all about your
Mini Split!

I appreciate that, Ike! It's always great to hear that the content is making a difference.
Thank you

Just a note, not all locations/areas offer tool or truck rentals. I live in SW Georgia, and none of the stores in my area, HD or Lowes, have rentals

Wainscoting an enclosed porch, floor to ceiling, used cast off and trim 50% price
Thank you great information!
Sure thing, happy to share what I know. :)
Good tips, thanks
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching. 😊
I prefer Lowe’s and they offer similar. But I do shop at HD occasionally. I’m also a veteran and get veterans discount at both stores.
Where in S. Texas. I live i S E Texas just north of Houston
By the way thanks for the tips

Even if you are not in the VA health system.
You can still get a veterans identification card (VIC).
Go to your local VA center and ask for one.
I beg to differ on lighting. Yes, it's cost effective, but any lighting and plumbing fixtures from any box store are complete junk. They WILL break.
To long to watch.
