Here’s my strange tip: I iron my wide leg pants and shorts the conventional way, with center creases. This helps minimize the sideways flare, moving some of the volume from side to side to front to back instead. Plus the leg crease is visually lengthening. It sounds odd, but try it, it makes a difference and looks much more polished than wrinkled pants anyway.

The general rule for petites with short legs is: The wider the pant leg >> the more fluid the fabric and the higher the heel. And a high waistline is helpful, too -- all leg lengtheners.

Great tips, I never wear crop pants dislike them a lot for myself and on most people. I wore a nice pair of wide leg pants this week to a meeting with heels felt great and got a few compliments (to my surprise). But I remember your suggestion to make sure the pants are long enough, thanks for all your great tips.

I will make a work clothes video! If you can't wear open toe, pointy toe can always elongate our legs! You CAN find comfortable ones, just make sure the leather stretches!

I am an hour glass petite with short torso. My height z 5 feet 1 inch and weight is 51 kg.. Plazzos dont look good on me, same problem with jeans.. I struggle a lot in finding right fit jeans for me. I m kind of thin only but still my upper thigh bulges out which looks bit out of proportion. Pls suggest what kind of jeans n pants n plazzos i should go for. Would be of great help :)

Hi, I love this look but don't think i could ever wear this and make it look good. I'm 5'2, large bust,hour glass shape and short waist, so tucking in or a shorter top just would make me look dreadful :(....unless someone has found away with my type of body shape??

I agree about pants being as long as possible, except that they should not drag on the floor or bunch up over the feet. This makes the legs look even shorter, like we’re little girls wearing Mom’s pants. My guideline is that they should cover at least half of the heel. Having about a 27” inseam, I have to hem all pants except cropped ones. I don’t think it works to try to wear a specific pair of pants with both flats and heels, so I hem mine shorter for very casual wear, like around the house, and another pair for wearing with my standard 2.5” “heels”, as high as I can go. If I really love a pair that work for every occasion, I might buy two pairs and hem them at different lengths.
I did that in the past with my black jeans. Worked pretty well.

I have a fuller figure, but I tuck in all my tops because of the way it improves my proportions. My whole body looks like a brick otherwise. Women at the correct BMI are supposed to have a somewhat rounded belly. Let the belly curve show, it’s part of being female!

Rounded belly is not a rule, just one look at athletes will tell you that.
I'm the one body vertical line you don't address, the 50/50. My torso and legs are the same length and I am short waisted. My bottom ribs are only about an inch off the top of my hip bone, so high rise pants are out. The waist band is across my ribs and gets folded over as I move or makes me feel "strangled". Mid rise on anyone else is waist high on me. I don't do cropped tops or tucks because it makes me out of proportion. However if I can get wide leg pants that are mid rise and fall from the hips I can do monochrome and look great. I have plenty of decolletage to play with and take the attention off my short midsection, yay 😁
