@@mojorider8455 adding yet more weight to my suspicion that there is a vast and powerful conspiracy, which seeks to make Henly into messianic like figure to lull the people into complacency. Most people, most people have no idea. Ten years time and we're all gonna be forced to bring Henly x number of newborns with which he shall fuel his undying yet perpetually decaying prison.

During a visit to Austin, TX to lend his support to a local environmental issue, Don Henley showed he has a sense of humor about himself and those who may mock him.
It all began with a number on roots rock singer-songwriter Mojo Nixon‘s 1990 album, Otis, that is titled “Don Henley Must Die.” It begins with the lines: “He’s a tortured artist/Used to be in the Eagles/Now he whines/Like a wounded beagle/Poet of despair!/Pumped up with hot air!/He’s serious, pretentious/And I just don’t care.”
It turned out that on August 2, 1992*, Nixon was also in the capital of Texas, performing on his 35th birthday with his band the Toadliquors at The Hole in the Wall, a small music club just across the street from the University of Texas campus. Much to his surprise, Henley showed up and jumped onstage, joining in on the chorus: “Don Henley must die, don’t let him get back together with Glenn Frey!”
As Nixon - now a host on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country channel - later recalled, “So I said, ‘Whaddya want? You wanna fight? You wanna debate?’ And he said, ‘I want to sing the song, especially the part about not getting together with Glenn Frey.'” He did, and the crowd went wild. “To quote my drummer, he must’ve had balls bigger than church bells to do that.”

I used a fake ID to see Mojo perform at a small bar in Ames Iowa in 1990 or 1991. I was front row soaking it all. The keyboardist grabbed my jacket and wore it through most of the set. The entire band had nonstop energy. It was a great show…and drinking $2 bottom shelf Long Island iced teas as an 18 year old added to the amazing experience.

Are you wanting to fight? And Henley said no I’d like to sing Don Henley must die with you on stage which they did and Mojo said Don Henley has balls the size of church bells.

Way back when I was in college I got turned on to the Otis album and I played it over and over. For some reason some people don't take artists that inject humor and sarcasm in their music seriously. I thought he was a very unique and talented artist who didn't fully get his due. RIP Neill.
