Just went from Seoul to Munich with A340 600, best 11 hour flight experience ever, super smooth when in the air, not to mention the extra friendly stuff, LH my favorite airline
I live in Charlotte and often watch this flight as it soars over my home. I always wondered how it would be to be on it. Thanks for putting me on board!
My trip to Germany was a heckuva lot different. In 1963, I flew on Riddle Airlines aboard a DC 4 four prop aircraft. It took forever to fly from Charleston AFB South Carolina to Shannon Airport in Ireland, where we landed. I don't recall the reason. No one got off. Then if was off again to Rhein Main AFB in Frankfurt. That trip also took forever. Instead of the picturesque views you filmed, there was snow all over the place. The trip to Bremerhaven from Frankfurt by train was a lot faster, even though we had to deal with the Soviet Sector. See how long ago that was.
Sounds interesting, but Riddle Airlines never flew DC-4s. The earliest they had in their fleets were DC-6s. The DC-6s had4 turboprop engines, so you probably flew on one of those. Except, from what I could find, Riddle Airlines never flew to Ireland, and even if the did, Charleston to Shannon is 3,600 miles, but the DC-6 could only fly 3,400 miles.
Sir - just wanted to say how much I LOVE ALL your videos. The way you have them recorded makes me feel as though I'm the passenger going on the flight. I love seeing the landings and take offs, the terminals, the activity on the tarmac. Thanks for taking time to prepare these videos and fir sharing them with everyone! I don't see how anyone could give a thumbs down on any if your vids because they're all fantastic! Great job and thanks from a commercial aviation enthusiast and arm chair traveler!!!!
10 years ago I was probably the last time in charlotte and I flew with the A340-3/4 and it's good to see that the connection between munic and charlotte still exists:)
WOW! That was an awesome sunset you got heading out! Made for some great still shots! Also a really smooth landing! I used to take my Cessna up after work years ago to about 5,000ft just to watch the incredible sunsets that you can only get with altitude. As a private pilot i love your videos and find myself guessing the altitudes with pretty good accuracy. Thank you SD for the videos and the great effort in making them.......
I remember seeing that flight the other way, I saw Lufthansa A346s a lot headed to Charlotte back in 2013 and 2014. Nice US Airways jets including the 767-200.
@@klauskinski220 Well at least Lufthansa put it back in service. I dobt they will start taking apart the 600s yet . When this pandemic is done with, these long hall Jets will come back. Lufthansa certainly won't scrap their newer 747-8!
That I think was the same gate I walked on to an a330-300 to Munich! But a thunder storm delayed the flight because the plane was in the middle of refueling. The bridge broke down after the thunder storm so we had to walk on the plane using stairs.
That banging noise on rotation at about between 7:14 and 7:18 .... Does anyone know what that is? I've heard it on LH 346's myself both on rotation and touchdown, anyone have any idea what it could be? It's very noticeable if you sit above the wing so it may be landing gear or hydraulic related
Its the landing gear that, when the plane rotates, drops down, because of the suspension. The gear is very heavy, so when it drops, it makes a noticeable noise.
I recon Lufthansa should fly to Auckland Air New Zealand and Lufthansa are both in Star Alliance so they could help each other out like if Air New Zealand is having a growth spert and they need more aircraft they could lease them some 747-8s for example .
7:16 nearly till the half of your video it is only taxing. That is kinda boring to watch and a waste of your video time. I have disliked your video hun sorry. Not sorry.

May 2012 - my trip Munich - Charlotte. Amazing.
10 years ago I was probably the last time in charlotte and I flew with the A340-3/4 and it's good to see that the connection between munic and charlotte still exists:)
This is an amazing video. This is one of those "bucket list" routes I want to do.

My video of flight LH428 to Charlotte was with very same aircraft, HM aka "Wuppertal"
Thank you for sharing!
A340-600

I coulda sworn you posted another video with this exact same flight
Of all the airbuses made, I think the 340 ‘s are my favorite, especially the 340-600
This was a wet one. Nicely done!
what a nice landing, thumbs up Lufthansa and thx for the vid :)
Love the HD footage! And the decent into Munich.
I heard Lufthansa parked the A-340-600 after the Covid 19 .
I hope they are not going to retire this beautiful aircraft?
They propably will, same with the A380 and the 747-400.
@@klauskinski220 I saw a recent photo of a A340 Lufthansa brought out of storage and put back in use.
@@philipme109 That was a A340-300, the A340-600 is officially retired now

The A340-600 is awesome! I recently flew on my first one! Nice video!
Never seen a 346 at CLT, flown out on a A330 from there.
i was on this flight!
The 340-600 is soo long...

Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you ever fly first class on some of the longer flights that you take?
Enjoy the videos! I rarely fly first class anywhere. I don't have enough miles to upgrade and I am not sure it is worth the cost.
+SDMullis Nice Video. I have Chanel to maybe some People suscribe me.
+SDMullis are you German and do you live in Germany or the united States?
What a beautiful landing
The view at 10:54... Wow! :)
Yay! Love your videos! Keep it up!
Thanks for your enthusiasm and support !
Great Video! The camara is good?

+Sascha Garcon thank you!
Good Hearing, I didn't hear shit..
I would love to fly on a Lufthansa flight.
Butterweiche Landung würde ich sagen.
Why are they driving on the right side of the road in Europe? Thought they drove on the left side
They drive on the left side only in the U.K. and not in the mainland
mojo jojo UK and Cyprus they drive opposite from Europe.
Damn look at those US Airways jets... I remember the Famous Five; Delta, American, US, United and Continental.
Now all we have is the Unholy Trinity
I recon Lufthansa should fly to Auckland Air New Zealand and Lufthansa are both in Star Alliance so they could help each other out like if Air New Zealand is having a growth spert and they need more aircraft they could lease them some 747-8s for example .
Haha, I was thinking the Same the other day;)
A 747-8 would Look awsome in the New ANZ Livery.
〰 Badekaeppi yeah but the 747-8 cost about $300+ Million which is quite expensive but they would look amazing in ANZ's new Livery .
I am flying this plane from Frankfurt to Lima soon first class
Nice!
I live in Charlotte
I have never flown in an a340 since 3 years ago
was it good?
Enigma Scientist Amazing... I remember it was an A340-600 and I walked down the whole length of the plane.
