- The name of Icecrown became infamous when Kil'jaeden hurled the Lich King back into the mortal world. Ner'zhul's prison slammed into the glacier and created the Frozen Throne. The impact was seen as far away as the Grizzly Hills. Here the Lich King remained until freed by Arthas, and the two beings merged into Arthas' body. From the Icecrown Citadel, he commands the Scourge.
Apparently, troops of the Scarlet Crusade succeeded in approaching the stronghold during a counteroffensive, but in the end, were repelled by the Scourge. Orman of Stromgarde was the highest-ranking human among the countless casualties of this failed assault.
In World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Icecrown, previously ravaged by the tremendous force unleashed when Arthas and the Lich King merged into a single being, has been heavily fortified by the Scourge. Massive walls and ramparts have been erected throughout the region and Angrathar the Wrathgate bar's entry from the bordering Dragonblight, while the reconstructed Icecrown Citadel looms overhead. The glacier itself is protected by three gates: Mord'rethar, Aldur'thar, and Corp'rethar.

I've spent a lot of time on this video, I got stubborn to film it in the old Icecrown and for the few RP scenes, I had to learn much. Not perfect though. I apologize for publishing with this frequency. I am not sure what's the best: to focus more on the quantity or to try to bring more to the experience.

I still love how this zone, uniquely, was fully designed to be complete suicide to anyone attempting to traverse on foot. It sold the atmosphere, the sense of danger and desperation, and made the every step you advanced via the questlines feel like a victory in itself.
Last time i was in this zone there where Elite creatures spawning here and there.
This zone will never loose its absolute magnifficense !

I am excited for this one
I hope you like it. The initial idea was to have a chill / monotone music in the video, make it easier to listen for 1 hour. But the "Icecrown Day / Night" theme is a bit too repetitive and I can't say it's the best to loop it.
Anyway, I've end up using more themes present here (I hope it's appropriate to even have the Argent Tournament tracks).

Those were the days, glad to see we are exploring similar elements in the Shadowlands nowadays.
Shadowlands start was brilliant because it used old (very familiar) elements of World of Warcraft players. I have a problem though! Or I am not sure if it's possible... I would've liked to have the option of revisiting the old version of Icecrown in Retail (with the Bronze Dragonflight's help ofc)
@@Meisio Good point. Also, yes, it would be great. But then again I think they would hold that back for the WOTLK Classic, as it seems we are going to that direction.

Dont know, i never really liked the design of Icecrown. The only Zone i did not finish the questline afaik, or i just dont remember. I think the Frozen Throne really should have been on the NNW Coast of Northrend and way higher geographically. It makes no sense to have 3 Gates and massive fortifications, when you are in spiting range of Dalaran in the end. Also compared to Storm Peaks, i felt Icecrown was a major let down. Storm Peaks with Ulduar on the far end, just was epic and overwhelming. Icecrown on the other hand never felt like the ultimate glacier and frozen wasteland it should have been lorewise.
How is this not flagged for dmca? Curious as it seems like everyone's been flagged recently.

Nostalgia overload. Too bad the story is retconned with the Jailer garbage.
Can't say I like / dislike the Jailer story so far. I need to see what's next. But they've added extra elements since the story kind of of stopped (naturally) after WotLK.
