- I guarantee nobody rebooks Melia Cozumel. I do not understand how this is one of the most popular and highest rated hotels in Cozumel, Mexico. Melia is an upscale and respected all-inclusive resort brand, but this property is way overpriced!

I respect your perspective, but I must disagree. Comparing a cruise experience to merely seeing one port of call is akin to judging an entire city by visiting only one neighborhood. It's like watching the opening scenes of a movie and then concluding you know how it ends.

Love you vlogs. I stayed there in the late 90's. One night it rained so hard water was flowing out of the bathroom light fixture. Didn't look exactly safe. Never went back.

Next time in Cozumel go to Occidental at The Royal Level Área (free room service)or go to Presidente Intercontinental Hotel, because almost all other hotels have a los of rocks when you get into the sea. Never ever to Secrets, Sunscape or Dreams, the beach área is terrible and getting into the Water is very complicated
We stayed at the Melia in Nassau a few years back...The resort was nice but the service was absolutely horrible. I have a video review on my channel

I've stayed at a couple Melia properties(Melia Beach Punta Cana and Paradisius Princessa Del Mar Varadero) and they were both very good and IMO good value for money and I would return to either in a heartbeat. I have never been to Cozumel because I've always thought the hotels looked a bit sketchy there, even the highest rated ones. Prices on Cozumel are a bit less than say Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Punta Cana but looks like you get what you pay for (as is usually the case) Your review confirms what I have always thought (thanks for taking one for the team!! lol) I'm really looking forward to your review of Secrets Aura to see if there is any reason to go to Cozumel. Just returned from the Riu Yucatán (across the straight Cozumel in playacar) -To each their own, but I wouldn’t have switched hotels with this place for anything! Granted some of food looked really good -but atmosphere/property wise -you would be crazy to spend double the cost!

1. The “levels” of the world don’t have the same set of rules, so they can establish their set of standards. Which are low in this part of the world.. 2. HORRIBLE BED. #done 3. The weather is definitely your prerequisite for. Planning . Get with it! 😊 luv u ! 4. Food. Yuck for the most part, but got better at the end. 😊5. Cirque-esk HELL ya! 6. Definitely stick to the ‘rules of thumb.” 7. Is the Fish House related to the Fish house in Hawaii?
I could tell by the footage you show here that this place wasn’t too extra. I have never been to a Melia/Paradisus. I agree 30 minute wait.. too long.
We stayed at the Melia is PV and lasted one night. Horrible! Checked out and went down the beach to the Marriott. NEVER AGAIN FOR PV Melia

I stayed an across day Riu palace because tequila as fully booked. because Rio tequila is where the Riu parties are held there as well as the other marquee events I spent a lot of time over there and look forward to a legitimate stay there at some point.

What percentage full was the resort while you were there? It didn’t seem that it was close to the max capacity. That might explain why the Buffet didn’t have too many options on it while you were there.
Full capacity. You can't judge occupancy based on my footage because I use certain techniques to eliminate people from the scenery shots - Not only for privacy, but for a significantly enhanced viewing experience.

Looks like a very boring resort. Was there any daytime entertainment? You don’t want to sit in your room on vacation...so...games? Dances? Tours? The evening shows looked ho-hum. It looks “Diet/Lite/Vanilla”.

At the very, very least this resort wasn't as bad as, say, Royal Palm South Beach Miami or New York New York (pre-model at least), but that's not exactly saying much, hahahahaha! 🤷♀
Here's hoping the remaining five Cozumel resorts are all superior, and at least a couple of them are legit gems that emit a lasting afterglow! 🥹
We appreciate your review of the Melia…and find that your disappointments were our pleasures. Old Mexico culture and very little American influence. The quiet peacefulness and sweetness of the employees make for a wonderful and relaxing environment.

In my opinion, Playa Del Carmen is a much, much better part of Mexico than Cozumel. The places that I've stayed at in Cozumel are average at best. I only went there for the diving.
