      I'm working on 67 mustang and the original cable fit perfectly, didn't have to use new cables. but I had to cut coil spring off old cables by caliper. the old cables have a spring wrapped around cable, I carefully cut it off and installed it (new calipers have a spring installed) the old spring gets in way ...fit perfectly just had to adjust cable to take up slack close to transmission

    It is a pity that a very important part is missing. How is the new proportional valve connected to the hard lines, which have a different length and shape and are not intended for this combination?

    Great tutorial I really appreciate as I am planning on doing this on my 66 soon. On a side note why does every automotive show have the generic blusey/roadhouse background music?

    I noticed it's been a year and there's still no e-brake video. Is it because that the random assortment of parts that come with the kit don't actually work? The instructions say: "The parking brake cables are supplied to bring you to a central point, It (sic) is the customers responsibilty (sic) to tie the cables into the system!" but I can't seem to find any combination of parts (new or old) that can connect the Eldorado single piston calipers "using the front and middle sections of the original drum cable setup". A new video would be very, very helpful.

    Are there individual part numbers for each caliper, pad, and rotor? I want to make sure I can order parts and grab them off the shelf if I'm ever on a road trip and have an issue.
    I've been avoiding Willwood/other high performance brakes because no parts store carries their pads/rotors on the shelf or in the warehouse.

    My 66 has all drums right now. Can I upgrade to these front disks and reuse the drum power booster and drum dual master cylinder? Is there any benefit in going manual with front disk brakes?

    • @Dre1966mustang
      @Dre1966mustang 3 роки тому +1

      You can keep the old master cylinder. But you will need a disc/drum proportion valve or distribution block already set up for disc to drum. If I am correct you can use at 67 master cylinder, they have the same 1inch bore. It was the first year for disc brakes for standard mustangs.

    WHOOPS I prematurely bought this kit and didn’t notice it was for a v8. I have an inline 6 1966 mustang. Will this be a problem? I read some things about the steering and spindle may need to be adjusted but I can still use this kit 🤔 someone help me please haha

    • @grivolas2144
      @grivolas2144 2 роки тому

      It shouldn't be a problem a lot of these kits are standard. Look at their web site and see if there is a different kit. I doubt it. Fortunately for me my little Lincoln came 4 wheel disc. If she ever gets wrecked I can drop everything into a nice old mustang.

    • @mobilemike8500
      @mobilemike8500 9 місяців тому

      It will definitely be a problem the six cylinder with manual brakes doesn't have enough travel on the pedal the pivot point where the master cylinder pushrod hooks up doesn't have enough throw you will only get three quarters of an inch of travel at your master cylinder and you need at least two inches the geometry for the disc brakes is completely different

    For the love of christ and all that is holy do not use this kit and especially that distribution block, you will go mad tiring to make it work, also that is not a 4 wheel disc brake master cylinder, get one if you are doing 4 wheel discs.
