What a beautiful ride and video, Nic! Thanks for sharing your adventures with the UA-cam community! 👍 I aspire to ride the "Four Rivers Ride" from Seoul to Busan in So. Korea (633km) in fall 2025 at age 67. I've already begun training for that ride! I hope everyone has many such adventures in store for themselves while they can enjoy them.
That was totally awesome! Professional camera work; great editing; and dashes of your sly sense of humor. Cinematographically, your attention to both the minute details and the sweeping vistas is really engaging and fun to watch. And that's not even to mention the fantastic adventure of the trip itself!
Congratulations on a wonderful film. I too have a Brompton cycling channel but I am very much a beginner in film making. Your work is quite the inspiration for me. Well done.
You did a terrific job both capturing and editing this, thanks for sharing. Riding around Izu has been on my radar for a while, but I get the impression that there's a lot of climbing involved with that hilly shoreline (and especially so if you want to explore the Kokudō 414...), so I'm thinking carrying camping gear would be out of the question for this delicate little prince... 😁
This is cool man, I've rodeTokyo to Hammamatsu (around Mt Fuji) and on the way back over the mountain range to Atami then back to Tokyo - all on folding bike! I rode along a coastal road that was closed due to slip and 5km along had to turn back!! (couldnt read the signs in kanji!) Japan is a very mountainous country but very good for cycling, although many ppl are wary and dont understand of gaijin doing this kind of adventure (dont you have a job?why are you doing this is a question i was asked a lot!. Fantastic video!!!!
Japan is really amazing, has a great road everywhere even in the village, Maybe japan is one of the most incredible place in the world, that has an amazing road,😍😍
Hello I really liked this video, thanks for sharing Do you have some tips or recommendations for taking this trip, in 2024 I will go to Japan but I am traveling with a wife and 4 year old daughter we will go 2 Brompton and Thule for the baby, I have not yet found routes like the Eurovelo for Japan and above all because we want camping and the whole experience do you recommend it for family Thank you and Have a nice day.
Nice video. I wish there was no super annoying 30s slapstick music though. I muted it but then I missed whenever you said anything. What about just the nice natural sounds that would be there when you shot the video? I'm going on a similar journey next month on a single speed folder along the coast of Sapporo if you/any one else wants to join.
I appreciate the input, 90% of the captured sound is wind noise, traffic noise, or no audio at all so I had to make do with a copyright-free-music montage. However, the "30s slapstick" was my favorite part 🤣, I think it conveys how wild that day felt, riding through typhoon-like weather.
3:09...u put a camera that high to take a video of yourself biking thru that road and time it when the train passing in the background? Must be a lot of work to walk all the way up there to put the camera and then go back to get the camera...I gotta give you prop for the dedication!
You are living the dream. I did a touring trip for a month around Hokkaido in 2017 and I dream about it every now and then.
Do you have a folding bike? I'm planning on getting one myself.

Thank you for a super film. It was so kind of you to take us along.
Thank you for a video that lets the views and scenery of Japan take center stage ,beautifully brilliant. Hope to see more.
Nicely done...I live in Tokyo and will do an Izu bike tour when the weather warms up.

0:28 I thought that was very risky to keep expensive bike outside, but then realized it's Japan :)
Really wonderful video. Many thanks to share it with us. Amazing experience, even at the beginning, under the storm. Regards

*I love the **Latest.Bike** I use it when going camping. It folds up so easy and isn’t heavy at all. Rides so smooth. I love my bike!*
