It's nice and all, but don't overact it. Yes, two people and their family were extremely happy and all the best for them. But he just walked to that room and said some lines, so the tv-show has something new to go viral. Calling him "an asset to the human race" is an insult to people giving everything they got everyday, financially, physically or emotionally. This took about 2 minutes of his (paid) time - probably earned more in those 2 minutes than the woman does in an hour.
I like Dwayne Johnson as well, he doesn't take himself too serious for a start. But just showing some perspective.
Being extremely amazed by what The Rock "gave" in this video, is really really a strange thing to claim.

The fact that he believes that people should work for what they have and not have a free hand out, and the fact that he loves our troops and believe in the constitution makes me like him even more.

Gotta love when military members and their families are reunited. As someone who's recently returned from a year in Korea and who's thankful that to be able to spend Christmas with his wife I have a special appreciation for what The Rock and The Tonight Show made happen for this family. Remember: regardless of if a military member is married or has kids, most of us are separated from our blood relatives and rely on the love and support of our communities. Please keep this in mind for those of you who are acquainted with members of the military. A simple invitation to a good home-cooked meal after church would make a big difference for someone serving our country.
I cried because I imagine not spending anything less than 8 months that I have to away from my family. Anything less would be a complete blessing.

Its good to see homecomings for the military hasn't died yet completely! I am glad to see vet's and active duty members are still getting some recognition for their sacrifices even if its not the "popular" thing to do.
I am overseas right now and the only channels we get are CNN, and MSNBC. We don't get to hear much about how things are back home as well as a narrative decided by producers and analysts.

I sat next to her in Iraq in 2003-4 as we worked together on Army videos for a year in Iraq and worked with Todd a bit too. Both great people.
He should have said "i want to thank you for your service" and hugged her, then said "i also want to thank your husband for his service" and then moved in looking like he was going to hug her and change it to a reaching handshake to her husband.

He did say "I wanna thank you and your husband for your service" right before asking her to turn around. And I think when he thanked the husband it was for him helping in the surprise. I know there ARE a lot of instances where women's contribution to the military service are overlooked, but I don't think this was the case.

I worked for almost 38 years in television, this has to be just about the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I bet Karina was sitting in the control room going "WTH??" when Fallon and The Rock got up and left the studio.

I Retired USN in 2007,20 years active duty. i have not seen my sons since August 6 1999. USN AND FAMILY HAS KEPT ME FROM THEM.
90% of the videos of I watch of surprise Military personnel reuniting with their families, I feel like I’m intruding when they all hug. But this one felt like I wanted to hug the screen. Rock and Jimmy ya’ll rule.
