We were in Goa in end November 2022 and had food in Ritz in Panaji , Fisherman’s Wharf etc. They ( probably Ritz hotel)charged Rs.1600/- depending on its weight for a rava ( semolina) fried pomfret only .Some restaurants in Goa are very expensive ( or should I say overcharging).
Lesley, Maria and gang, we cannot stop watching your videos!! Thanks to you guys, we're planning a trip to Goa just to EAT. In Maria's words, deva borom karo :D
I tried this restaurant today, the food is amazing. Simple eat and leave but the fish fry will keep you wanting more and more. So tasty the fish feels out of the net into the pan n into your stomach sizzling hot. I will be repeating my order nearly every day from now. It's just that good. I chose to do a take away as I stay in Khorlim nearby and can enjoy the thali at home as well as letting others eat here in peace. There is just about 6 tables here so it's best those who need to eat here get that chance. Order 3 lepo thalis, pomfret wasn't available today Chonak plate 3 pcs, prawns plate big fat prawns sizzling hot. Total 1250/- really reasonable.
Because of Your videos, i can assume the lovely life my father had in Goa as a young chef before he moved to Karachi for better prospectus during the british regime. I can only dream of a beautiful life in Goa.😢
Hi guys just came across your channel we love Goa & goan food we are planning a trip to India from Perth & will be visiting Goa got good tips from you Lesley you really have a good knowledge of the places to eat such lovely & mouth watering food ❤ thank you heaps from Australia 😅
My morning started with ur video..today..tq for choosing mapsa...we terribly missing goa... We used to visit mapsa regularly for shopping and all....its near to our place Sanquelim.. Tq Lesley..and maria..lots of love from Andhra pradesh.❤
Hi Leslie & Maria, 570 for 2 thalis? UNBELIEVABLE!!! I've not heard of 'The kitchen'. I wonder why Maria mostly settles for a veg thali. Ones choice I suppose. My grandson watched this video with me & both of our mouths started watering admiring the prawns. Love the way you both say cheers for the sol curry. 👍
Hi, she enjoys veg and is more of a seafood than fish person. So she has veg thali with prawns or crabs. Or even leppo that she likes. She doesn't like the other fish
I love your channel. Watching it from home in New Jersey! I have a back injury and that gets me out of rat race here to New York! Your videos heal on how life should be exactly! It’s just not content but the simplicity of projection that caught me. God bless keep growing but don’t loose the simplicity
Just for your info Lesley it is always said that shell fish should not be eaten during the monsoon season bcoz it is not safe. Bombil is the best fish during this season. So stay away from shell fish during the monsoons. Take care..Bye.
I will surely visit this place during my visit to Goa at such unbelievable price Thalis looks so yummy 😋😋, thanks Lesley mam for posting such videos 🙏😊

Hi Lesley and Maria :) Lots of love from Luxembourg, we just love your channel. If you ever get the chance, please do visit Kokni Kanteem in Panjim, we visited this place during our last visit and enjoyed the King Fish Thali😄
Hi Les ! Hope u and yr stickfast friend Maria are on Cloud 9. Tks once again for informing us of the eateries in South Goa which I'll visit after the monsoon season. Take care and be safe.
What a lovely spread. Delicious, king sized prawns! Lesley as I am not from Goa , the names of some typically Goan dishes are unfamiliar to me. Can you please tell me what these are ..chonak , fodi, Sal Kari, tidki -midki bhaji, chonem gravy and kismur? Thank you.
Chonak is giant sea bass, fodies are vegetables or chicken or fish dipped in semolina and fried, sal kari is a digestive drink made with the fruit of kokum tree, todki-midki is beans, chonnem is chickpeas and kismur is a cooked salad made with dried fish or dried prawns, onions, coconut etc. The veg can vary but all the others are a must on a true Goan fish thali
@@lesleyingoa So very nice of you to have taken the trouble to explain to me what exactly these Goan dishes are. I have heard you mention them each time you had a Goan thali at so many nice restaurants. Love you.
Hi, there is a nice home run goan restaurant called Sanil Bar and restaurant in Porvorim behind Baker's Street which is on chogum road just before the road goes down towards sangolda and beyond. Take the left before the grey temple after baker's street after that as the road slops down you will see a new building construction on your left the restaurant is located below that construction. You will find it in Google maps as well. I've ordered multiple takeaways from here. Their fish is really good, once I got huge lepo fish from here that day catch was good. Very fleshy meat fish unlike the slim lepo we normally get, loved it. Hope you enjoy as well.
Hi Leslie , I am writing to extend an invitation for you to come to Evening sunset (Saiba Bar and Restaurant )at Cunchelim Mapusa . We believe that your presence and unique perspective would add tremendous value and resonate well with your audience. Best regards, Jayson D’Souza
