We visited the market on May 5, 2023 to buy Goan palm jaggery, some pottery items, light summer wear, and salted mackerel pickle (parra). We also picked up some fresh drumsticks and a large hunk of Goan fruit cake from St Francis bakery.

At Mapusa Friday Market, you will get fresh produce of Goan fruit and veg like jaggery, nirponnos (breadfruit), jackfruit, tambdi bhaji (amaranthus), coconuts, teflam (triphala), maadi and much more. You will also get superb quality Goan cashewnuts of all grades, dired kingfish, mackerel, prawns, etc, Goa sausage of all sizes, Goan palm jaggery, all Goan pickles from chepnim to miscut, Goan sweets and bakery items like perada (guava cheese) and bebinca, wedding sweets like kazarache bol, artisanal toddy vinegar, samaracho pito, rechead and xacuti masalas, fresh poie - basically, the entire universe of #Goan #food is here, along with the tools and dishes for cooking and serving.
Mapusa market has sections for fresh fruit and vegetables, homemade produce like vinegars, pickles and sausages, bakery items, flower market, fish, meat, grocery, kitchen utensils, spices, linen and bed covers, bed sheets, dress material, and plants. There is a speciality wedding market for bangles, henna, etc. Clothes stalls are everywhere. There are even some antique item sellers sprinkled among the stalls. You will find everything under the Goan sun at Mapusa Friday Market.

Thanks, Antonio. This month there is the Holy Spirit feast in Margao. There will be a huge pre-monsoon bazaar where people buy provisions like dried fish for the rainy season. We will be covering that too

So the goans or outsiders will come to know about the price difference if it is there, so people can take the benefit of it. U just dont go straight like that.
