  • This week i made myself a new sanding board from Okoume 3/4" plywood. i had this Sanding board or Sanding block planned for a while and after seeing a video from Ragnbonebrown i had to make my version of his Sanding Block.

I used a sanding belt for my Sanding Board wich i cut in half. This sanding board works above all my expectations. very happy with the result and i really think i'm going to use this Sanding Block a lot.
The tools i used for this Sanding Board is my Stanley handsaw and Ryobi One+ 18v drill. I used Bison D3 Houtlijm as glue and Boiled linseed oil as finish.

That is an outstanding idea and design. FYI, turn it upside down and clamp it in the vise and you have a flat sanding block for small part sanding too. Why do you chose that size belt? are there any belt sanders in your shop?

Thank you Russ! That is a great idea. Hav'nt thought about that one. I do have a belt sander with the smaller belt size as shown at the start of this video. The reason why i wanted to make this sandingboard is because i.m.o. i have a much better feeling when i sand by hand. And i have a basic shed with only one electricity point. Wich i use most of the time for extra light. Hopefully i can build my new shop next summer. The reason why i choose this size belt is because i don't have a big one yet. I have a small sanding block. And the one i still need to make will be the middle size. And this one is the large version for bigger surfaces. This was the biggest available at my local diy store. Thanks for watching! 👌
