    What does EX and V (from previous Battle Academy) actually mean? Haven’t played in forever and kind of confused about that.

      I am not a pro, so forgive me if I don't explain it 100% clearly. The ex/V cards are more powerful cards. They have bigger HP than the regular Pokémon cards and more powerful attacks and/or very useful abilities. They take 2 price cards tho if they are knocked out. V cards are all basic, meaning if you got Charizard V for example you don't need Charmander and Charmeleon in your deck to evolve into it. The current ex cards do need the preevolutions in the deck to evolve into it, unless the Pokémon ex doesn't evolve to begin with such as Miraidon ex.
      So to conclude they are higher priced cards that are very powerful and rarer to pull from packs than your standard non V/ex Pokémon cards.

      @pokebuyer1366 Thanks, that helps a lot! I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Are V decks compatible with EX, or would EX be too powerful? I just ordered the 2022 battle academy, but I’m not sure if it’s fine to use normal V & EX decks to expand playability outside the 3 starter decks.

      They are compatible, rn one of the top decks is Lugia VSTAR. But some V cards are already rotated out. Rn cards with the regulation mark E and F are legal for tournaments. The 2022 Battle Academy contains cards from before that block if memory serves me correct. Besides Battle Academies are made to learn about the TCG so the cards inside them aren't good enough for competitive play

      But you could totally make a deck with V cards and ex cards that is legal at the moment. All they need is to have the "legal" regulation mark

      @@pokebuyer1366 Thanks! I understand it a lot better now. I bought the Battle Academy for playing at home, so I’m not too fussed about them being legal. I wasn’t sure if using V & Ex decks would be too powerful vs what’s in Academy box. I’ll do some more research into what’s currently legal though. Thanks again!

    İs there a code included in the package to play online?

    Nice. I lost all my cards from 2007 a while back so bought this and a couple pokeball tins to start playing again. Really like it.

    Jup as always the JP version is better. Not that you get more ex cards you even get cards from the upcoming set. The only thing that is better in this version is the "playmatt" if you bought this to actually play. If you just want to collect the cards than it is really bad. It is so annoying that the JP products are always better. Still nice video :)

      Yeah, and because in English we still get a handful of exclusive cards they are kinda expensive on the singles market rn. The fewer exclusive cards=the higher the price for those cards that are exclusive. But I still enjoyed opening this up. I am just wondering if the "missing" Japanese cards will be put in our special set Shrouded Fable or in some other product?

      Sorry im new to ptcg. Could you please explain whats the difference between the two versions?

    • @pokebuyer1366
      @pokebuyer1366  5 місяців тому +1

      @espadavirus the Japanese version contains more ex cards that have yet to be released in English. It contains other brand new cards as well, and our English version contains a bunch of reprinted cards from previous sets with the Battle Academy stamp. So long story short: the Japanese version is full of brand new cards and more ex cards, the English version is a bunch of reprinted cards and a few new cards and new ex cards as promos

    Always 1 ex per deck in the battle acadamy like the precious battle acadamy's. Those we're V or GX

    • @pokebuyer1366

      True, but since the Japanese battle academy had way more cards, I was hoping it would be the same product in English. But it's fine
