Pierre noire is technically not charcoal and that might explain why you like it more than regular charcoal pencils. It is made from pigment and has wax in it so it is as dark as a charcoal pencil but it is less powdery and it's easier to control.
I love these pencils too, in Australia officeworks has them for $7.95 each and they come in a variety of colours. They are the smoothest black pastel I've tried.
You can endlessly refill your “disposable” expensive Micron Pigma pens if the nibs are still good… just pull the nib with tweezers and syringe some Indian/Bombay ink in, it’s cheap and waterproof!
Great tips. Some many say you need a special brand of paper. So glad you said any smooth paper will work. Thank you. And what we really need Graphite powder for shading. ❤
The special type of paper thing is for like, watercolor and stuff cos you do need to use the right paper. Brand on the other hand matters a little, if you get random cheap ass brands, sometimes they aren't good, sometimes they are

Then you must be bloody deaf or you don't know English. Her English is perfect without any accent and I can hear every word. I'm an 86 year old Englishman. Get a hearing aid and learn English.

Ffs always put the pencils sharp side down. As an artist do you want to accidentally lose any eye as you’re bending down to pick something up
