Noob Trucker in the UK, bringing other new drivers the heads up on what its really like as a new driver. Milti drop and otherwise.I have been driving commercially for one year now and my vlogs are here to show you what driving a HGV the the UK is really like, I don't delete the bad bits its all raw and as it happens.

Reminds me so much of a local council, so many people watching while one person doing the job, but I’ll take my hat off to you jay for one doing the reverse and keeping your cool
Why didn't they move those cars? It was obvious that they were making it far more difficult to manoeuvre in there.
Most likely just laziness, couldn't be arsed as it's someone else's problem if it makes it hard to maneuver in.
In this game, they never move the cars :(

People just have no clue how difficult some reverses are, or how the unit and trailer reacts. Good job and respect to your mate there 👏

I’ve just passed my class 1 and I can’t wait to find a job but this is my single biggest fear, that exact situation… doing a hard reverse with a load of impatient “experts” watching getting snotty, I love the technical stuff when I can go at my own pace, not when someone is telling me to hurry up who doesn’t have a clue, well done for keeping it together.
well done on passing, your best watching Russell Worthing's vids as he's a very experienced driver know running low loaders in south wales and a lot of the reverses he does are impressive. lot of stuff to be learn't from watching him.
You get used to it mate. There will be days you blind side it in like a pro and others where you struggle on a simple bay reverse in an RDC, doesn't matter how much experience you have
Just be a professional.
You're in charge, it's you're responsibility, keep a smile and gently remind anyone the above and you might want help.
Even the longest driving people have days where you struggle all I can say and I’m a newbie just take it slow and don’t be afraid to get out and take a look and I found a steering wheel spinner helped me in reversing too
i passed my class 2 also very tigtht corners especly in london i tell you somthing dont give a fuck mate do in your time just switch off and focus what you doing to be safe and your equipment be intact just as i do cars drivers honking dont bother me

16:28 Did you say you were in Wembley? You were on the northern end of Scrubs Lane, NW10. I'd call that area College Park or, perhaps less accurately, either Willesden or Kensal Green. Wembley is about 3.5 miles away.
Tough reverse that Jay, bad enough with people just watching nevermind getting aggro from people who have never driven an artic. Well handled pal 👍🏼

Well done Jay for giving as good as you got, too many jumped up people out their on a power trip. Maybe next time he'll think twice about being so arsey with a truck driver doing a difficult maneuver.
There is something very captivating about that sequence of you washing the truck down, especially the side skirts, could have watched it for a lot longer, I fell into a mesmerized stooper.

When I was doing old field work in West Texas, there was always some rig worker anxious to tell me how to maneuver my truck...Funny. I never felt the need to tell him how to drill for oil

Class 1 driver for the coop. Even with a rear steer trailer that's a tight one so to pull it off without well done
the people don't realise how much space it takes to get a trailer to start turning, especially at funny angles like that reverse.

That was very impressive. None of them had a clue.
What makes it worse is the cars left in the most stupidest of places.
Bloke stuff , faffing about with the barbecue. tinkering in the shed and being let loose with a jet wash.
I would have refused those blind sides and driven straight in. Looks like it would have been easier to reverse out onto the main road when loaded. Great job under pressure Jay
How much easier might this have been if the Golf and Qashqai weren't parked next to the signs "No Parking Artic Lorries Turning" 😂😂😂😂 A decent Banksman who knows where to stand, and how a truck turns makes a huge difference!
Jay-sus! That reverse would've been a bea-atch without the cars. As soon as I clocked the number of cockwombles in pristine hi-viz [the cleaner it is, the less work they do that needs it] I realised there were more chiefs than grafters. They'd have been better employed boiling the kettle - not that you'd have seen the result of those labours.

Watching this made reminded me of the time I used to go out in the lorry with my dad, I do remember a delivery like this scenario I could see him getting agitated and no one was helping him eventually he snaps at everyone and asked me to jump out and give him a hand
Welcome to London, I usually drive a Low loading flat bed with a ramp for plant. Yes it maybe a 7.5t. But I have to tell the Banksmens to EFF OFF too a few times, As I would ground out or the ramp is not going to be level for the off load. On occasions I would pull my keys out and tell them to do my job. Sure enough they comply and become my eyes and ears. Good luck buddy.
The best video ever Jay, cars in the way are a nuisance and should of been removed prior to your arrival.
Or pick back of trailer up with telehandler or driver in reverse out on ya good side

When I used to to it I would always drive as close as I could to the most flashy car in the yard. Then tell them it was first day driving and my boss was a gangster who didnt give a shit. After that, cars and vans would disappear.

I used to visit construction sites with my previous employment and I do not miss it one bit! particularly around the London area where they seem to be populated by twonks with big gobs and no brains! By the time the deliveries reached our guys on the site most drivers were totally stressed out by the moron that they call a banksman. well done mate you have my total sympathy.
Great reversing skills there jay. The cars shouldn't even have been there. They must know that the cars are going be a problem. Kept calm under pressure

you done well on the blindside reverse, 32 yrs class1 and i still hate reversing blindside, get out and hand the keys to Mr gobby and say "there you go mate, as you have done it before, you show me how"
I did that about 40 yrs ago had an Atkinson no power steering fully loaded trying to get in a shed 1ft wider than truck after about 4 attempts guy says do you want me to do it, gave him keys he got it in first attempt, he was the shunter for the company, next time I went I got it in first go by remembering how he positioned the truck.
I hope someone in management at the company sees this.

You were good to keep your composure to be honest, having about 10 of them watching you, chiming in now and again and not being helpful. It's not nice having an audience when you're trying to do things like that. Also the fact that they could move the cars but didn't was just ridiculous, if they moved them it would have made it 10 times easier. Then when you called Daz for assistance he knew what to do straight away. 10 plus workers that didn't have a clue to then 1 that does, a complete shambles on their part. Costing themselves money and time by not being helpful.
nice 1 jay im so glad im on bulk tippers never get that problem once in a quarry i had a kid foreman telling where to put trailer that was impossable he got shirty i said right ive got paperwork 2 drive this show me your banksman paperwork ,, he walked off
I can tell you now from watching your videos for donkey years there is no way i'd last 5 minutes driving a truck lmao! never drove one myself but even i get frustrated when people give you grief as if driving a truck is like driving a Fiat 500, i have had to wait a hour for a truck to reverse into a site before, rushing them and giving grief doesn't help whatsoever.
You started the bad feeling when you told him to shut up. I never seen You get out and have a look at where they wanted you to go when you came off the road into their yard, that would have stopped you doing a 90 degree blind side corner when you could have done a more diagonal cut and straightened your route making it easier. Never put down someone who doesn't have an HGV as not knowing how to manoeuvre a truck in a yard, ask anyone who worked in Minto Avenue in Altens industrial estate Aberdeen in the 90,s, Duougie the FLT Driver could get trailers on an awkward bay quicker than most drivers, your piece of paper that says you are good is just that, a piece of paper, as evidenced by your video.
There's thousands of drivers that couldn't reverse a car down there let alone a truck and trailer, site should have been prepared before your arrival and cars shifted, great driving tho mate. Loving the vids Jay, Happy New Year Pal

I drove hire cranes for Greenham Crane Hire and would be given a site banksman to work with, 99% of em couldn't even hook up properly and giving directions was a joke.

Av got a class 1 but only drove a rigid with a trailer on and everyone is so unhelpful when reversing i think you did good gettin that trailer in there i don't think I could have lol
