Wes, I have seen a bunch of older balers for sale out here in Oregon, like the one you bought, and they were 2006 and newer with 15000 plus bales through them and the people selling them also praised them for the usage and excellence. I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy using yours for many years.
Glad to see someone is hitting the fields. The old man finally got a chance to start working down corn ground and we will be putting anhydrous on tomorrow. Hopefully the weather holds out long enough to get some seeds in the ground.
We run a 4995 with a 995 16 foot head. It’s a good machine under powered. I ran a r450 the other day man it ate. Drooling for a w260. We gave 80,000 for it new in 07 I think was the year.
+gareth smith He has/had a New Holland TR70. I don't remember of the top of my head whether or not he did get rid of the TR70 but I know they moved it out to about that spot a year or two ago beside that particular shed. His main combine would still be the NH TR96. The TR70 had something wrong with the engine if my memory serves me right.
The county contract requires you to maintain a walking path around county-owned fields they lease? Is that for the benefit of the public allowing them to go for stroll on any county-owned field as they see fit? Would any farmer want people wandering about fields with so much investment at stake (lease payment to the county on top of whatever it takes to farm the fields, etc.)?
+kglefo Not just walking paths. It's so vehicles such as the fire department can get to those places. Or other maintenance etc vehicles ofc. And at the end of the day, if this wasn't part of the contract, it would just cost him more to lease the fields anyways. The other option is... Let someone else lease the field and they would still do this very same thing.
I was wondering why only 2 rows were cut in the field up on Sydney road. You said they want you to cut 15 feet, does that mean your going to come back and cut the rest of the field at a later point?
I take delivery of my JD 6130D tomorrow. It is not new but as 187 hours. I am really looking forward to it as all I have now is a Kubota L3240 for the place.
MrFakit It is a 2014 model year. I bought it sight unseen but it should be pretty clean. About the only person that could totally destroy a tractor in 187 hours would be me.
NH be like: "Why aren't you complaining about the JD?" And my reply to NH would be: "Why aren't you fixing the issues your stuff has so you get as few complaints as JD does?"
Glad you're home without being terrorized, or someone trying to ackbar you. Wes haven't even a video of your finished woodworking on house, or anything on house you bought or the sawmill. Quit sawing for fun and profit?? I thought you had gotten pretty adept at using that mill. When are we gonna see a review on that new sweetheart? Oriental women are great. Have fun
You can make it go a little faster. There should be a spring down in the hydrostat handle where it hinges in. Take the slack out of the spring, and you will get more speed. The custom harvest crew I worked on, they do that every year, jumping from 17-18 to 20-21 mph
+Jesse Stoltzfus Are you sure about that? I have the impression that the speed of this mower is limited in software and no amount of messing with springs will change that.
+pillsnotbills unless they changed something in the software, it should be set up pretty similar. The combines were 15's and I believe the mower is a 15 as well.
I wish I was in the field making some hay (money), it has been raining everyother day here. I can't have what you call "Mulch" hay as I sell mine to horse racing people, and other enthusists (sp).
+Blake Hewitt I am very skeptical that they would just show up and start mowing a field. That makes them responsible for the cut material, any potential "incidents" that might happen, and cleaning up the equipment. That's a massive headache and a waste of time from the perspective of someone who is there just to replace a few parts.
+James Rawlings Straw is from crops like wheat, corn and barley and is dry, hay is field grass and is green and is food for the steaks and bacon makers. Straw is more a bedding item for animals.
+Wyatt Hart That's beside the point though. If it isn't dry inside the storage shed then that junk can cause all kinds of nasty things. Rust being the main one but even mold that can mess up your airways is a thing to consider.
dont feel bad about forgetting things i used to drive a mx275 and after a long winter i ould have to hop in and just sit there for about 5 to 10 min and relearn the darn thing
I do the same thing with the combine every year. Have no issues with the tractors since I'm in them all the time. When something only gets used for a month or two every year or every few months it's easy to forget a lot
The combine is the best part. Far more relaxing then something like planting or spraying. Also don't have to constantly look back to watch for plugs and such since everything is right in front of you It's a real pain when something goes wrong and combines being combines there's a higher chance of a break down so there are some down sides of course
Depends what it is really and getting yearly inspections really helps cut back on down time. If something big goes it really sucks sure but that's just part of farming. Some owners can be really hard in hired hands tho and like to try to pin the blame on them when something goes wrong so I do see where you're coming from. If the issue was obviously operator error that's another thing but really shit happens and it happens quite often with combines and all the moving parts they have
they were going to work on the....................they were going to work on the....................................................????????????????????
+Eddie Boyle On the Krone 1290 HDP brochure it states Power requirement 180 HP and on the Tractor Data it states the JD 8120 at Engine (gross) 208 HP so Wes's JD 8120 will handle the Krone baler with no problems! ww w.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/5/9/1594-john-deere-8120.html
just i remember him looking into getting the ecu changed and looking at other tractors earlier in the year, them brochures mean very little when your baling up a steep hill on a wet day
Eddie Boyle One why would anyone be baling hay on a wet day? Two a steep hill on a wet day it's not about HP it's all about traction which is the most important factor on a hill!
new holland tho is better as far as affordability and long lasting just as good if not better I'm just saying some of john deeres tractors aren't as good as what they used to be powershift probs and the other nounusual things that happen to tractors I have been raised on ford and new holland tractors and I've never been on a deere so what's that tell you if I ever buy anything green it will probably be a 4x6 big flotation tires pretty shiny john deere round baler
+oilerman9406 ye but u think that hydros dont put "stress" on engine, ofc they do..minimum 2-3min engine should idle before do ANYTHING,5-10min would be great..im not tryin be smart,i like him and dont want to see he losses time and money on repairs..btw im mechanic
I'm not saying new holland us better just because j lije them better but to me john deere is so over priced its ridiculous sometimes like there tractors with new holland your getting a good stout tractor but dosent codt 250, 000 and john deeres hay equipment us great don't see nothing wrong but to me new holland is just the better way to go I will say this tho there baler design youst to be on the rough side but was reliable and could handle havier crops and bale hay with water running through it but the speed rowers I don't know about them but the one you had was pretty much shot the day you bought it and I've got a saying you can make 10 speed rowers and 1 can be made on the same day as the rest and that one came to you wes and it was a piece of crap.
+Bristol Bishop Bishop Isn't it a matter of "You get what you pay for" though? I mean, i can buy a Chinese car brand spanking new (made out of recycled toilet rolls OFC) for half the price of another car. Does that mean i am making a good deal? Or even better yet, i can eat mass produced slop every day of my life and live. Or i can eat my own prepared dinner with everything i like as well as variation. It might cost more than mass produced pigfeed but it sure makes living just a little bit more pleasant at the end of the day.
Got to agree with Wes. Quality, reliability, and profit are the hallmarks. Not to mention that they actually have a good resale value compared to a junky red tractor.
+Timmy Cornpicker that baler was not that bad it was just outdated tech. Before it hit the market. It was originally a krone 80/80 Deere just bought the right to paint it green.
Wes, I have seen a bunch of older balers for sale out here in Oregon, like the one you bought, and they were 2006 and newer with 15000 plus bales through them and the people selling them also praised them for the usage and excellence. I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy using yours for many years.
Nicely rambled sir, can't get over how quiet that machine is.
It's good to see you back, Wes. Enjoy driving the JD!
the technology in the equipment you work with on a daily basis just blows me away. nice video.. get some rest m'friend
Can't wait for the season to start. I'm also a farm-bred child and love the fresh cut hay and the sound of the baler at night
Glad to see someone is hitting the fields. The old man finally got a chance to start working down corn ground and we will be putting anhydrous on tomorrow. Hopefully the weather holds out long enough to get some seeds in the ground.
The video of the krone baler baling at 30 mph is so impressive to watch. Can't wait to see you enjoying the hell out of yours.
Definitely a lot quieter then either as well while mowing. I'm high pitch sensitive and the hydraulic pump whine isn't bad at all.
That machine seems to have a really nice finish mow, not to mention the speed you can go is great.
Good to see you all back in the field , looking forward to seeing the krone pumping out some big bales
I'm anxious to hear about your Krone baler. I'm anxious to get my Krone cutter in the field.
That is a nice quiet cab. Just what you want for hours in the seat.
We run a 4995 with a 995 16 foot head. It’s a good machine under powered. I ran a r450 the other day man it ate. Drooling for a w260. We gave 80,000 for it new in 07 I think was the year.
The Krone equipment I've got has been awesome. I think you will really like that baler. Good luck!
we finally have some nice whether here I got to mow last night. nice machine It's unreal how fast you can mow.
Beautiful I think the Deere looks awesome!
cool...i miss farming...ty for sharing
great to see you having a good time in the field !
I wish you good luck with that machine and just hope it performs as you would wish for you with few problems.
Gonna say it's been raining in NC for a few days . wish the rain would go on somewhere so we cana start our hay season. Good luck
Nice action Wes with the John Deere right Tim 😛😂
Great video Wes have you got 2 combines when went out seen combine by side your barn and seen one inside the shed
+gareth smith He has/had a New Holland TR70. and good luck with your crops this year
Hey Wes I'm in canada but I was wondering if you use tile drainage in your fields I have been installing tile for 6 years was just curious thanks
Love your videos! Just wondering why you don't blow your machine off in the fall & wash & wax it in the spring!!
The county contract requires you to maintain a walking path around county-owned fields they lease? I was wondering why only 2 rows were cut in the field up on Sydney road. You said they want you to cut 15 feet, does that mean your going to come back and cut the rest of the field at a later point?
looking forward to them Krone videos.....
Thanks for the video .
Is rye hay used for a specific purpose or does it just give you an earlier crop? Is the rye annual rye grass or cereal rye?
I take delivery of my JD 6130D tomorrow. It is not new but as 187 hours. I am really looking forward to it as all I have now is a Kubota L3240 for the place.
+DDuffeeInc 187 hrs. is still considered new ;)
MrFakit
It is a 2014 model year. I bought it sight unseen but it should be pretty clean. About the only person that could totally destroy a tractor in 187 hours would be me.
Just tried that on our W235 it doesn't work
+Keith Jeasser You don't have a W235, and your too young to even operate a tractor. :)
NH be like: "Why aren't you complaining about the JD?"
And my reply to NH would be: "Why aren't you fixing the issues your stuff has so you get as few complaints as JD does?"

good to see you back !
I'm a little surprised that you don't have a dust bowl on the intake of the air cleaner ,weather it would pick up pollen??
Can't wait to see the Krone eating those windrows!
That W235 is quite on start up. I was waiting for you to start it & it was already running. Is it a diesel? Glad to see you're back & uploading again!
ja duh of gours its ah diesel
+jeffrey hollink All those mispelled words and you spelled diesel right. lol
+Steven Manning. ja en ik ben en nederlander die meer verstand heeft dan de gemidelde amerikaan diesel is het nederlands ook diesel
+jeffrey hollink ummm ok.
looks good seein an old farmall settin there
They are haying here in Wisconsin as well!
That poor TR sitting outside! Lol.
isn't fescue one of the 7 words you can't say on T.V. lol. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
like seing the older ewuipment u got sitting around.my how equipment has come along. ull be running it from ur cell phone soon.
It would take me a long time to get used to those backwards controls.
Glad to see in back in the field, here in Tn. my hay is ready but mother nature is not maybe next wk. jet lag my ass I know.
And you were correct about the Krone
Speaking of the Case, you going to put a video update on the new head?
gota new hat lookin snappy wes
Wes I see you have a Gehl mixer grinder I have been looking for a well taken care of one. I might be interested If you would like to sell it. Thanks
I wish I was in the field making some hay (money), it has been raining everyother day here. I can't have what you call "Mulch" hay as I sell mine to horse racing people, and other enthusists (sp).
You should get yourself a WD or WD45, subconsciously you must want one:)
Good luck this season
Hi farmer when are u coming to india (punjab)
Have sweet hay year!
Neat vid bro.
John Deere is good equipment
how fast r you mowing
Uh oh the woman is in your head.. Slap yourself.. It's not jet lag
About time
it just looks like a field here in ireland...
more from field working 😍😍
weren't you driving on the other side in the P.I.
can't believe you didn't clean the header off before it went away
+simon britcher it may have been from the john deere people testing it
+Blake Hewitt I am very skeptical that they would just show up and start mowing a field. That makes them responsible for the cut material, any potential "incidents" that might happen, and cleaning up the equipment. What is the difference between straw and hay? Different plants?
+James Rawlings Straw is from crops like wheat, corn and barley and is dry, hay is field grass and is green and is food for the steaks and bacon makers. Straw is more a bedding item for animals.
you can change your steering in your computer
You should get a good old ford tractor
You didn't clean the JD last year when you put it away? Lots of junk laying on the header.
It would of just gotten dirty again.. A few rounds would have it like it is .
+Wyatt Hart That's beside the point though. If it isn't dry inside the storage shed then that junk can cause all kinds of nasty things. Rust being the main one but even mold that can mess up your airways is a thing to consider.
It's the new hat Wes it doesn't know what the old one did
dont feel bad about forgetting things i used to drive a mx275 and after a long winter i ould have to hop in and just sit there for about 5 to 10 min and relearn the darn thing
I do the same thing with the combine every year. Have no issues with the tractors since I'm in them all the time. When something only gets used for a month or two every year or every few months it's easy to forget a lot
never did run the combine did not want that job liked running the auger carts and keeping trucks at the ready was my choice of fun
The combine is the best part. Far more relaxing then something like planting or spraying. Also don't have to constantly look back to watch for plugs and such since everything is right in front of you
It's a real pain when something goes wrong and combines being combines there's a higher chance of a break down so there are some down sides of course
most times when the combine messes up it dont take long for it to get bad fast thats what i dont like
Depends what it is really and getting yearly inspections really helps cut back on down time. If something big goes it really sucks sure but that's just part of farming.
Some owners can be really hard in hired hands tho and like to try to pin the blame on them when something goes wrong so I do see where you're coming from. If the issue was obviously operator error that's another thing but really shit happens and it happens quite often with combines and all the moving parts they have
Is your pto on
john deere = reliable
Where do you keep all the fuel to run all of you're machines?
Fuel tanks. Every farm has at least one but many have several depending on their needs
+Andy V yeah I knew about fuel tanks but who deliverers it or where does he get it from?
same place as most gas stations. You can order bulk fuel from most any of the big fuel companies and some co-ops can also supply it
I don't think that jet lag was the reason your tired. lol
What reason do you think it is ?
a new speed sensor and O-ring, re tapped 4 bolts and didn't change the fuse
+Gene Murphy Except in this case, they didn't charge him extra for it. All that is part of the purchase of the machine.
+Cadde just going for humor; i love the lonely farmer videos & he might not be so lonely in the future; "oncelonelyfarmer" new "name"
Yeah hay time in Ohio if the dang rain would stop
Does the nh combine work if so can you show us
+Logan Maclean he has made vids of it look back though his old vids
+Logan Maclean i'm sure it works fine but i'm not sure if he actually has any crops to use it on anymore so probably won't get any videos
longer vid nextime wes......
Why won't you put three mowers on your tractor instead
my typing sucks
Is the "other stuff" Timothy?
+Mark Skinner You mean sasquatch?
+Cadde Squatch grass!
Yeah it sucks to be getting old don't it
they were going to work on the....................they were going to work on the....................................................????????????????????
mm smell that grass from here.
you worried about how the 8120 will handle the krone?
no problems.....

maybe warm up engine before doin anithing?

john deere = over priced
John Deere =quality=reliability=productivity=profit=me being very happy
Got to agree with Wes. Quality, reliability, and profit are the hallmarks. Not to mention that they actually have a good resale value compared to a junky red tractor.
+onelonleyfarmer 99% of the time. Once in the while they pull a boner. Remember the 100 big square baler?
