  • @7pdude
    @7pdude 9 років тому

    in europe and especially germany we don't have almost no self-driving mowers. there are just a few big ones with three cutter bars attached to the machine. instead farmers here use attachable mowers. have you ever considered using tractor attachable mowers (conditioner) where you can get 1 in the front and 2 in the back resulting in up to 10 meters / 33 feet working width for probably just a third of what a W235 costs?
    even though i'm not a farmer myself i find your videos always very interesting and educational regarding your methods of approaching and solving problems. keep the good stuff coming! :)

    I think it was a good idea to keep the old girl and run both. If one does go down say you had a rear tire split you can still have one working and going and also I think it might just allow you to get the fields all mowed and bailed so you can start replanting quicker and not worrying about hay just laying around b/c itll be mowed, raked, rowed,bailed just that tiny bit faster so the hay hopefuly wont get caught out in rain and get all junky mush.

    With the computer having to wait. Same thing with the new fire truck. We have to wait a few seconds for the system to turn on. If not some times the lights or even the pump will not work correct.

    I know your not old enough but maybe your Dad would remember bailing hay the old fashioned way or at least that's the way we had to bail hay. My summers were spent on the farm to keep me out of my Dads hair till I was old enough to bend conduit and pull the electrical runs for different jobs. We had to lift the bails up on the hay trailer
    and then stack the stair method way till we had a full load. We had large pressure cookers filled with food; water containers and about one half full milk pail filled with hard boiled eggs when out in the fields. And yes I am older than your Pops.
    Oh yes also that was when Milk Pails were made in America and you could find real cowboy boots you could resole in stead of buying another pair of shit shoes and or boots from china.

    Great to see the new mower in action. Would have been nice to see a little bit more of the cab and controls and the field you were mowing as you were driving around.
    Not that there's anything wrong with looking at the side of your head for 5 minutes. But a little closer look at what you were doing would have been nice.
    Still a great video as always. Cheers from Aus.

    I guess i don't understand haying...would have thought they would use a square cut pattern round and round in circles...instead of back and forth...stopping.

    • @jasonkeefe2513
      @jasonkeefe2513 9 років тому

      If a square pattern is used you would have to slow down for the ruts made by tractors during headland turns on the short ends of the field, thus reducing your acreage per hour.

    Those w235s are no joke. They will move like a son of a bitch. Litterally will cut thick alfalfa at 15mph and not break a sweat. We have one. It's an animal. weve cut a lot of acres with it I would say. And I have personal cut almost all of its acres. We do about 1,000 acres of hay. We do 4 cuts a year. Cut with our w235 and a 30 foot pottinger butterfly. Way more reliable than that pottinger.

    If you see the picture on the left that's me holding the checker flag one of my many
    feature wins I also won the trophy race too. All in all I won 9 trophy races and 14 feature races that year yes I am bragging the track was bad it was flat and was gumbo mud the track had so much bite it would rip rear end to peace's break axels rip tires off bead locks rims. We even had one of the wing sprint cars come and try to put on a show but he didn't make the first hot lap before he twisted the rear end out of it, ok last post time to go to bed.

    Son that's a lot of hay fields you cut in one video then you drove back thought a bunch more but I have a stupid question can you bale now are dose it have to be rake first? Just like the adds say nothing runs like a Deer. I just wish I was a little younger because I would love to come up there and work for you I use to drive trucks and I am the best mechanic I know but cutting hay would take awhile to learn but everything else no problem. Like I posted don't worry about the haters you know they don't have a life if they are waiting for you to post a new vid what a bunch of cry babies. I still have a bunch to watch so I am good. lol
