Started some designs ideas right now but so overwhelmed with all the process and the unknowns. Did it backwards. Did allll the work in Printify then created mockups. Was just confirming how to set up the Etsy piece and glad to know I don't need to enter the SKUs because I have another group shirt to set up! 😀Thanks Cassiy!

I don't offer print on demand in my etsy store but I do make mockups that I sell. I found the photos you used to describe your listing and shop policies a very smart idea. When shoppers do not read the listing they don't know what they are purchasing some don't even bother to look beyond the first photo. Then a mistake is made on their part and they are ready to blame the seller for their own negligence.

Love this idea, but is there a reason why this strategy of not connected to printify until a design sells, is for group shirts and not for all listings, even if just a single shirt?
Connecting a single shirt takes almost no time at all, but copying and pasting all those sku's for a group listing can take a long time. So its worth it for your regular listings to be connected so they are just all set when you get sales.

Thank you! Edited to add: how can I change prices for all my listings on Printify? I’m running a 25% sale and want to adjust prices easier as opposed to going 1by1. All sizes are different prices. Not sure if it’s even possible.
Great step by step! One thing I'm unclear about...do you ever hit the publish button on Printify, or do you leave it as a draft? Will Printify still recognize the sku number even if not published? (follow up question....does Published mean it just published into your etsy shop? or does it mean it it publishes the skus?) Thanks for EVERYTHING!
Great questions, Published on printify means sent to actually show up in your etsy shop. I have you save it as a draft so it's just in Printify and then you copy over the skus. Saving it as a draft saves the sku's so no need to also publish to Etsy unless you wanted another listing for just that item to be for sale as well, then you are welcome to do that!
Thanks, Cassiy for this tutorial. I'm ready to upload a group listing and I need a video about this, and see here I found it. Actually in the last section of this video where you told about the connection of Printify to Etsy when the order came. Here I'm a little confused. But firstly I watch it out, one more time and then see if I'm cleared or not. and if I'm not then I massage you for help.

Etsy deactivated a few of my listings using the family pajamas photo because they "prohibit non-flame resistant pajamas". Is this disputable? I'm obviously just selling the t-shirt and not the pajamas set. Do I need to include that in the description? Thank you for all your help!
I have heard of them doing this as there are a lot of hoops you have to jump through to sell baby sleepwear, but I have never heard of the mockup being the issue. The issue from what I can tell is you using the word Pajamas or Pj's in your title/tags/description. You should be fine if you don't use those words at all!
Cassiy on your just recent group shirts(april 23) if i understand correctly you say in order for the orders to go through you must have the sku #'s before they order so printify can see each item and send all the items , Here in this video you say to wait adding all the options sku #'s until the first sale comes in. In THIS video would then make the order one you have to manually do and the latest group video if you predo ALL the sku's making the listing from the begining (even tho it takes time as first) the listing would be ALL done and no later manually adjusting as the first sale came in. Even tho it takes time and you dont know if it will sell at all, isn't it just less worry to just do ALL the sku's when you first make the listing? Group shirts are a bit more work anyway might as well do all the sku's while making the listing...right?
Yes you can do either option that works best for you! I like to sync things as I list them so they are out of the way and nothing gets forgotten or messed up in the future. But you are welcome to do whichever way works for you, wether that be connecting when you list them or connecting after you get the first sale. Just wanted to show the options!

Hi Cassiy, thank you kindly for the informative video. Quick question, since you recommend not connecting the listing to Printify until it actually starts selling, would we leave the "who made the order" as "I did" and not choose "another company or person" since once you choose that option, it requires that you choose a production partner? Once you have all the SKU's added, then we would change the listing to "another company or person" and then choose Printify? I think it makes more sense to just set it up with saying Printify will be the one to print it when you first make it is the best way to do it since that is who you will be using. This is something internal on Etsy's side because they just like knowing who is using a production partner.
Hi Cassiy! Thank you sharing all these great tips and tricks! Question: Is there a way to not show out of stock colors/sizes when posting a group listing? I thought you can only select that option within Printify?
Also, one last thing. You mentioned once we get a sale we have to go to Printify and get the SKU’s and then add ALL of them (how do we do that? Just exactly the way we would if starting there? Question: if we have it set on manual and do it like “personalized” items couldn’t we just fill them as they come in? I know that may not be as automated but is that a possibility? I was thinking Shawna or Jay at Foxed Point mentioned doing that or something similar.

First time watcher of your channel: Question if the listing is not connected how does this show up in the “Other Order tab”. What happens if you have other print on demand sites associated with your store such as Printful etc. Would this be the same set up as offering customized products? I haven’t offered that because I’m not sure what the steps are? Do you have a video on that process? Thank you your video is extremely clear and detailed. I’ve watched only two so far but have acquired a few tips that I hadn’t thought of.
Quick question, I had an order over the weekend in which someone ordered a tshirt and a personalized mug. I didn't have the mug connected as it is a personalized order. So when the order came through, the tshirt showed up in Printify, but the mug never did show up in the other order section. I went ahead and created an order manually and sent it to production as I had the draft ready, but I didn't ever import the order. Do you have any thoughts as to why this would happen and how to prevent it in the future?
Yes if one order is not connected to Printify but the other one is, then you just need to edit the order with the one item, and add the personalized one onto it before it goes into production! There is no better way to do it. I'd recommend trying not to create manual orders as much as possible since those will get charged sales tax.
Cassiy, I have been watching lots of your videos. They are so informative and very easy to follow. I do have a question regarding selling children's print on demand items. Since they are really manufactured and printed by someone else, do I still need to be CPSC compliant?
thank you for the helpful tips, what if I wanted to make the same color shirt with a different color design on each. For example a black shirt with orange writing and a black shirt with that same writing but in purple. Basically offering the buyer a choice of font color.
I have started to do this but then I got stuck on the shipping. Do Printify charge you full shipping for each item or as additional items? So say you sold a BC 3001, BC3001Y and a BC3001T, would you be charged $4 shipping for each item? Would you add the $4 on top of your normal shirt price of $24.99 so $28.99 etc?? TIA x
You get a discount on the shipping for the kids items as well when shipped with adult items, I just checked an order I had for family matching shirts of 3 adult shirts and 4 kids shirts and I paid $16 in shipping!
Great video but the only thing I don't understand is With the skew numbers. I know every size has a different skew number but what about the Colors? Does every color in a given size have a different skew number also? If so how would you put that Into the etsy variations?

Such a great tip to wait to put in SKU numbers! I get so bogged down putting that together. Now I know I can push out more designs faster.

Great questions, Published on printify means sent to actually show up in your etsy shop. I have you save it as a draft so it's just in Printify and then you copy over the skus. Saving it as a draft saves the sku's so no need to also publish to Etsy unless you wanted another listing for just that item to be for sale as well, then you are welcome to do that!

Etsy deactivated a few of my listings using the family pajamas photo because they "prohibit non-flame resistant pajamas". Is this disputable? I'm obviously just selling the t-shirt and not the pajamas set. Do I need to include that in the description? Thank you for all your help!
I have heard of them doing this as there are a lot of hoops you have to jump through to sell baby sleepwear, but I have never heard of the mockup being the issue. The issue from what I can tell is you using the word Pajamas or Pj's in your title/tags/description. You should be fine if you don't use those words at all!
Cassiy on your just recent group shirts(april 23) if i understand correctly you say in order for the orders to go through you must have the sku #'s before they order so printify can see each item and send all the items , Here in this video you say to wait adding all the options sku #'s until the first sale comes in. In THIS video would then make the order one you have to manually do and the latest group video if you predo ALL the sku's making the listing from the begining (even tho it takes time as first) the listing would be ALL done and no later manually adjusting as the first sale came in.
Even tho it takes time and you dont know if it will sell at all, isn't it just less worry to just do ALL the sku's when you first make the listing? Group shirts are a bit more work anyway might as well do all the sku's while making the listing...right?
Yes you can do either option that works best for you! I like to sync things as I list them so they are out of the way and nothing gets forgotten or messed up in the future. But you are welcome to do whichever way works for you, wether that be connecting when you list them or connecting after you get the first sale. Just wanted to show the options!

Hi Cassiy, thank you kindly for the informative video. Quick question, since you recommend not connecting the listing to Printify until it actually starts selling, would we leave the "who made the order" as "I did" and not choose "another company or person" since once you choose that option, it requires that you choose a production partner? Once you have all the SKU's added, then we would change the listing to "another company or person" and then choose Printify? I think it makes more sense to just set it up with saying Printify will be the one to print it when you first make it is the best way to do it since that is who you will be using. This is something internal on Etsy's side because they just like knowing who is using a production partner.

Also, one last thing. You mentioned once we get a sale we have to go to Printify and get the SKU’s and then add ALL of them (how do we do that? Just exactly the way we would if starting there? Question: if we have it set on manual and do it like “personalized” items couldn’t we just fill them as they come in? I know that may not be as automated but is that a possibility? First time watcher of your channel: Question if the listing is not connected how does this show up in the “Other Order tab”. What happens if you have other print on demand sites associated with your store such as Printful etc. Would this be the same set up as offering customized products? I haven’t offered that because I’m not sure what the steps are? Do you have a video on that process? Thank you your video is extremely clear and detailed. I’ve watched only two so far but have acquired a few tips that I hadn’t thought of.
Quick question, I had an order over the weekend in which someone ordered a tshirt and a personalized mug. I didn't have the mug connected as it is a personalized order. So when the order came through, the tshirt showed up in Printify, but the mug never did show up in the other order section. I went ahead and created an order manually and sent it to production as I had the draft ready, but I didn't ever import the order. Do you have any thoughts as to why this would happen and how to prevent it in the future?
Yes if one order is not connected to Printify but the other one is, then you just need to edit the order with the one item, and add the personalized one onto it before it goes into production! There is no better way to do it. I'd recommend trying not to create manual orders as much as possible since those will get charged sales tax.

thank you for the helpful tips, what if I wanted to make the same color shirt with a different color design on each. For example a black shirt with orange writing and a black shirt with that same writing but in purple. Basically offering the buyer a choice of font color.
I have started to do this but then I got stuck on the shipping. Do Printify charge you full shipping for each item or as additional items? So say you sold a BC 3001, BC3001Y and a BC3001T, would you be charged $4 shipping for each item? Would you add the $4 on top of your normal shirt price of $24.99 so $28.99 etc?? TIA x

You get a discount on the shipping for the kids items as well when shipped with adult items, I just checked an order I had for family matching shirts of 3 adult shirts and 4 kids shirts and I paid $16 in shipping!

Great video but the only thing I don't understand is With the skew numbers. I know every size has a different skew number but what about the Colors? Does every color in a given size have a different skew number also? If so how would you put that Into the etsy variations?
