@@MiataMoney thanks! I’m actually installing it in a 40 year old 911 that I am converting to EFI (it had K Jetronic , which apparently was designed by Robert Bosch and Rube Goldberg lol) .
Fore mine it was indeed. If you are running a standalone (MS, SpeedyEFI, Haltech) you may need to adjust it slightly as all of those are looking for a wideband sensor.
The brown wire off of the LC-2 itself will send the signal to the ms2pnp. If you skip to the end of the video there is a diagram where you can see the brown wire running to the stock ECU (I don't have MS :'( ) . The brown wire will go to whatever you are using as your ECU. At the bottom of page 3 in this link, it will explain the yellow and brown wires in more detail www.innovatemotorsports.com/support/manual/LC-2_Manual.pdf . Hope this helps!
I’m running a stereo and planning to buy a mspnp2 this week and regarding the 5amp fuse for the wideband , can I wire it in using an in line fuse connector?
Personally I wouldn't recommend it because what I have read online about the stereo is the older ones are pretty sensitive and adding anything into the wire circuit for it may be detrimental. What I would heavily consider for what you want is to use a fuse JUMPER. A fuse jumper will cost you a few dollars but should offer you the protection for your wideband and is significantly easier to install than what I did to power my wideband. Hope your install goes well!
I have never had that happen. You want to make sure you choose a 12v that is only on when they key is in and on. If the lights are are non stop you need to find a new power source (you'll drain you battery).
Hey there, thanks! This model I ordered off of Amazon - Innovate Motorsports 3795 DB BLUE Wideband Air/Fuel Gauge Kit includes LC-2 & Bosch LSU 4.9 . If you have a soldering kit or know how to put wires together you can have it installed in under an hour. How do you like your RX-7 AFM?
@@MiataMoney I got along very well with the RX7 AFM. above 5000 rpm the engine breathes much better! however my next step will be to eliminate it with an ECU .. for this reason I would like a wideband!
How wel does it work? Im am thinking of buying this to finetune my mixture, and if i am going to turbo my engine it would be great i think. Can the AEM wideband do the same or is that just for reading instead of altering the o2 signal?
Hey, So this and a version of the AEM are read only. As far as I know all widebands are read only and do not alter the o2 signal. If you're hooking it up to an ECU, the ECU can use the info to alter what the engine is doing. So far it has worked fine, there was one plug that was real tight but otherwise no issues. Hope this helps :)
Hey, mine sometimes just blinks 7.4… I bought the car recently off this guy and it was reading fine at first and now it’ll blink 7.4 from time to time. Idk what the blinking means, if someone could please tell me what that means it would help a lot !
Hey Carlos, The 7.4 blinking happened to me after a solid day of tracking my Miata. To solve it I pulled the O2 sensor out of the pipe and did the fresh air calibration and have not had an issue since. (I think it happened to me because I was running rich while in boost and it needed to be cleaned or just recalibrated). If you need a link to the instructions and how to do that let me know.
When I was on the stock ECU, I left it just like it is in the video. When I switched to a standalone (SpeedyEFI) I cut the wiring harness right before the plug on the pin for the O2 signal and soldered the wire off of the sensor into it. If I need to clarify it some more I gladly will do my best to help. Have a great day!
Thanks for posting this, about to install the LC-2 this weekend. Video and commentary are both super helpful!
You made my day. Hope the install goes well and you have a great driving of driving after :)

Do I understand that the brown wire emulates a narrowband sensor for the ecu?
Fore mine it was indeed. If you are running a standalone (MS, SpeedyEFI, Haltech) you may need to adjust it slightly as all of those are looking for a wideband sensor.
Loved the MS-paint drawing at the end, don't know what I would do with out it
Inner-Picasso, hope you're doing well sir!
so which wire goes to aftermarket ecu ms2pnp?

How is the wideband holding on after all these years...?
Great! Have yet to have any issues with it that I didn't personally cause.
Thank you for this. So you just soldered the red wire to the wire going to the cig lighter?
You're very welcome! Yep and I haven't had any issues since then.

@@MiataMoney thank you so much bro, yeah I’d rather spend more for the peace of mind, appreciate the response and good luck with the channel
Does the green light stay on all the time even when the car is off ?

excellent guide! which model of lc-2 did you buy? do you have links? i would like to buy it too

Do you have LM Programmer on ur laptop?
I do not. I have TunerStudio now because I am using the Speedyefi kit (installed wayyyy after this video. )
