Yea, I think it was rather cheap of Blizzard to make this a copy of the Arcane Mage artifact quest. I think it would have been more interesting if it was still in the hands of the Scarlet Crusade , maybe locked away within the Scarlet Hold of Stratholme, and priests would have to fight through undead to get to it. I think that would have been more interesting.
locked away by the scarlet crusade inside of a box inside of a bigger box inside of a cathedral somehow inside of a volcano inside of a mountain with a note on it that says "we fucked up. we may have fucked up before, but this is the biggest fuck up in the history of fuck ups. don't use this staff. don't touch it, don't even look at it. if you do you will explode, just like all of our priests exploded. in fact, we aren't even sure if it's the light that's bound to the staff. some of us theorize that there is another elemental plane. of explosions. maybe it was there before, maybe we created it ourselves. either way, the staff will make you explode. the naru or whatever help us all" showing the staff to any priest of the scarlet crusade will cause them to immediately soil themselves and plead "oh god i don't want to use the staff please no get it away!!" they will then cower in a corner and begin mumbling about the light and explosions until you put the fucking staff away and give them some cookies and milk. the only reason why you can use the staff is because you're so badass that you're already exploding. it's just a very slow explosion. but an explosion nonetheless, and so the staff excepts you as awesome and also an explosion and lets you use it without exploding; because you are already exploding
Aluneth, the personal weapon of the previous Guardian is shown as a fat blue elemental that likes to insult others. Yet this priest staff does not only have the same quest, but despite being seemingly way unimportant in comparison to Aluneth, is described like a portable nuclear bomb. Blizzard why you so confusing?
"hey you know that staff that makes people explode when they use it? i'm going to use it" *one explosion later "hey i found that staff that makes you explode when you use it i'm going to use it"
I think they totally missed the opportunity with this weapon. Why not have us go to a secret Scarlet Crusade location or something like that. Something that would at least give the "feel" of being a discipline priest. That would also tie together with Balnazzar in the campaign a lot better than it is.
Bro the story of this weapon did NOT deserve to be relegated to a freaking text hidden in a freaking book. Seriously, a staff that was being made by the Scarlet Crusade to rival the Ashbringer, the ritual being sabotaged by a dreadlord and leaving the weapon unstable. Multiple people, some good and bad, attempting to use it resulting in explosions and death on all sides. A Mage dedicating their life to safeguarding it at the very least only to DIE when he cast a protection spell on the staff as it EXPLODED when he did. This staff was essentially a handheld nuclear missile no one knew how to use and just shot putted it into the ground trying to get it to work. Freaking hilarious.
I'm going Discipline, since Shadow is too boring, and I'm doing a more DPS build for the spec. Yes I have a Priest too. Thank you for doing these videos too Nobbel. I gladly appreciate it.
They could have come up with a ORIGINAL idea, like that it was buried with that one scarlet crusade priestess that is one of the four horseman now and only she knows where it is or something like that, but nope.
There is a huuuge on going forum talking about the dissapointments of the priest class hall and campaign. Its called "Priest campaign: Dissapointing spoilers" if ur interested in peoples thoughts its about 20 minutes of reading
Azuregos is my favorite dragon, since Vanilla. I'm happy they bumped him here with some story. Countless times... farming that dragon for the Eskhandar's off-hand, or a dragon synew Thank you base dragon dad.
I'm assuming that Blizzard thought they wouldn't be able to make unique quest lines for each artifact, so they thought of places/concepts that would make sense for multiple artifacts to be in. They decided upon Karazhan and the Nexus, and then spread the "leftover" artifacts more or less arbitrarily.
Couldn't they have thought of a better form for Azuregos' humanoid form than just another Blood Elf? It doesn't match his voice at all. He's so old and grizzled, wouldn't something like a Dwarf or Tauren, heck even a Night Elf have worked better?
Wow, so when I was watching the mage one I kept thinking "man, this seems REALLY similar to the disc chain". And seeing this, I am actually really disappointed in blizzard for this. They are literally the same :/
Yeah. I would at least appreciate some differences, as in as example the Nexus prince is already dead (If we assume the Arcane mage artifact is lorewise happening before disc) and some other threat rised up that needs to be taken care of. Not a 1:1 copy of the questline.
Just watching as many of Nobbel's vids as I can to make sure I see them all....anyway I agree with others that copying one of the Mage order halls artifact quests ( and I do think it was priest copying mage, rather than the other way around since it makes way more sense for a mage weapon to be with the Blue Dragons than a priest weapon ). That being said I like Azuregos as a character and hope they do more with him at some point.
Shubie 8066 dude i instantly noticed Anathema, I commend you on your devotion to the game and the priest class... Seeing that the staff is still around makes me happy!
that's not all. Holy paladins, Arms Warrior, Shadow priests are the same aswell. Much like Balance druid is the same as Unholy DK's. A lot of the artifacts quest lines were recycled
Actually only the tirisfal location was used, but the timeline is sequential, the quests have different enemies and bosses, no where near as bad as disc, arcane, balance and unholy quests.
So the blue dragons just abandoned a bunch of powerful artifacts just to go do who knows what? Kalec I had like no expectations for you yet you continue to disappoint me.
Hey nobbel! I really in joy learning about the new artifact weapons but, I want to know more about the Lionheart blades that you get if you choose a rouge class. I would really appreciate that. :)
It's so weird to see the same story with light's wrath. It made way more sense with aluneth and it's kinda weird to see light's wrath here. They totally could've put the staff in dalaran but you have to attune to both shadow and light so you can wield it so you can really get the ''discipline'' theme.
It's a joke. Because Blizzard made the quest line the same for both weapons. Well almost. There are very slight differences in the questline, but overall it's the same.
i think it's more about the weapon itself and the story takes place to the Nexus.Since it has power more like fire(see Ragnaros the Lightlord) uncontrollable powers . More ideas:The Sunwalkers and the bloodelve priests that drew power of the Sunwell.
heey nobbel, i want to create a new character but i want to have the best experience out of my leveling, im running alliance and i want to know some really nice questing zones for me to feel the most satisfaction once im done leveling, any ideas?
Another thing, malygos was never woking with the etherals ,malygos wasnt a bad guy his whole goal was to shoot the magic they were stealing out into the great dark beyond, not all of it but a lot of it, so it could not be used again right?
I'm kinda disappointed in the story-line since it is (as you said) a copy-paste of the arcane artifact.... I wonder which other Artifacts are like that
Erik shadow priest also gets their weapon from the same place as the arms warrior, didn't know the holy paladin but I don't play it. The shadow priest story is slightly different though
Played through many and looked into all but the hunter class campaigns. Priests got the poopy end of the stick. Cut and paste artifact quests, empty order hall, dissapointing snd boring quests and no npc interaction. Honestly priest got the worst of all of them. All others have class campaigns that are almost perfectly themed, lively class halls with lots of npc interaction, quests that require you to use your uniqe abilities etc
I was thinking this sounded familiar. Copy+pasting isn't okay, blizz. I'm with other players that sending us to the scarlet crusade outpost in northrend would have been better. Maybe actually utilizing those scarlet members in New Dalaran to get an update on why they're here.
What I don't get about the copy paste is... why the hell couldnt the priest just be the mage dude that was hunting for it instead? Except without the dying part.
Checked if Darin had voiced Azuregos and it seems he has a handful of other roles as well! Not just minor, either: Vindicator Boros; Trade Prince Gallywix; Battlelord Gaardoun just to name a few. ~#TheMoreYouKnow
hahaha as a blood elf priest I didn't wait long enough for him to say to mind control that flame elemental, I just used my racial to interrupt. Who needs mechanics
I think actually the Arcane mage line was copy pasted from this one My biggest argue point is the dialogue in the Arcane mage line, not only is some of it missing (I.E they don't say mage, but they say priest) And Azuregos' line after being freed from those ethereans inside the Nexus has a different pitch entirely, where as this is the exact same pitch throughout. *Which is even more sad if you think about it, because that means that they thought This questline made more sense than it would have for the Arcane mage, before they decided to just make them identical to save time.
Shame they just reused the arcane mage quest for this. Didn't feel "priestly" when I did it on my main. Could have been a much cooler quest line involving tracking down the remnants of the Scarlet Crusade
Aluneth is per say Infused with Arcane Energies (The whole point of the blue dragonflight ) meanwhile Light's Wrath is infused with Holy Magic. That is why that questline doesn't fit
***** But the ethereals were trying to harness the void and a staff that is chaotic and heavily linked to the void would really be much more useful than a being of arcane
literally went to nobbel's channel to check if i saw this before, turns out no but i basically had. the mage one n this one is reallllllllllyyyyyy similar
Light is a source of magic, like fel or arcane. though it isn't always thought of as one. the blue dragonflight was tasked with controlling and moderating all magics by norgannon, not just ones mages can use. whether it's reflected as such within the game priests who pray to the light for power are just as much magic users as mages who draw energy from the leylines, and thus fall under the jurisdiction of the blues. lights wrath was a dangerous magical weapon it makes sense lore-wise for it to be contained within the nexus vault. although it was probably lazy quest design and there could have been something much better done with this, it isn't entirely baseless.
Priests getting something interesting? you kidding me?
I play a priest and I hate our artifact histories beyond the shadow priest dagger.
Priests did get a spaceship as an order hall tho
locked away by the scarlet crusade inside of a box inside of a bigger box inside of a cathedral somehow inside of a volcano inside of a mountain with a note on it that says "we fucked up. we may have fucked up before, but this is the biggest fuck up in the history of fuck ups. don't use this staff. don't touch it, don't even look at it. if you do you will explode, just like all of our priests exploded. in fact, we aren't even sure if it's the light that's bound to the staff. some of us theorize that there is another elemental plane. of explosions. maybe it was there before, maybe we created it ourselves. either way, the staff will make you explode. the naru or whatever help us all"

Piss and moan. No one is ever happy. The bane of the wow fanbase.
I need lore videos to uplift my mood, Thanks Nobbel!
Aluneth, the personal weapon of the previous Guardian is shown as a fat blue elemental that likes to insult others. Yet this priest staff does not only have the same quest, but despite being seemingly way unimportant in comparison to Aluneth, is described like a portable nuclear bomb.

I love that you did this and arcane back to back
I think they totally missed the opportunity with this weapon.
Why not have us go to a secret Scarlet Crusade location or something like that.
Something that would at least give the "feel" of being a discipline priest. That would also tie together with Balnazzar in the campaign a lot better than it is.
Have to agree. I really enjoy that they made it basically a holy nuke though.
Jesus i love the voice acting. GJ Nobbel another great vid.
really wish they didn't recycle artifact lines like this
Really wish they did not recycle vidoe's like this. De Ja Vu anyone? Feels like I just saw this.
Right! I main a disc priest and after I did arcane quest I was like thanks for the love blizz
But does'nt it kind of make sense, that powerful lore artifacts are hoarded in certain places of power?
The deja veu is strong in this one. But hey, this means that our knaifu is getting her video soon!
Ackbar Reserve Knaifu! I love that name. Fits so well i'm ashamed i didn't think about it before.
what is knaifu o.o i mean i know what Waifu means but Knaifu o.o
DKHZStudio Waifu + Priest Dagger(Knife) Artifact that shows projection of Female Gnome.
ok thanks :) my shadow priest is still Level 100 so i didnt see any female Gnom projectionen^^
I might be wrong on the projection part. But still it's what i said Waifu+Knife.
Thanks for Recammending getting the Warcraft Chronicles. I'm almost finished and it is awesome can't wait to the second.

Why couldn't they had sent Disc priests to the Scarlet Crusade place in Northrend. THAT WOULD'VE MADE SENSE
Kendrick O'Rourke damn, I have a priest I haven't started with legion on yet, now I understand the shit I will be disappointed with lol
+Block Lance oh you actially read it? Yeah my mains a priest and i was really sad :/
Kendrick O'Rourke watch legion become cata as they nerf the shit outta priests again
Voice acting takes this to a whole new level :P
Azuregos: "I hope you are prepared!"
me: **TRIGGERED** ILLIDAN????
Hey Nobbel love your videos, I watch them every night
I hope you will be doing a story on the Shadow Priest artifact weapon sometime!! Great videos as always.
its pretty much the same as the prot palidin legendary quest have to go to tyrsfall and go to his tomb
lights wrath is the lights heart's cousin with anger issues
RiversBoi xd
Lol Xe'ra is Lights Heart and that means Lights Wrath is...... idk..........
Interesting lore artifact, it basically a drug in a way still cool.
Also lights wrath looks like that staff arcane uses in darksiders 2.
the kermit voice returns at long last
Azuregos is my favorite dragon, since Vanilla.
I'm happy they bumped him here with some story.
Countless times... farming that dragon for the Eskhandar's off-hand, or a dragon synew
Thank you base dragon dad.
great video to relax and bring back memories

Definately one of the coolest looking artifacts
That picture with the light, void, fel and all others. Where did you find that? I've been looking for it for some time.
Boomer if you mean the dimension map it’s in volume 1 of the WoW chronicles I think the image is on the WoW page
Can you tell us about the arms Warrior the sword war braker
"If it's looting you desire, as your kind so often does..." -Azuregos, dragon aspect of sass.
Wow, so when I was watching the mage one I kept thinking "man, this seems REALLY similar to the disc chain". And seeing this, I am actually really disappointed in blizzard for this. They are literally the same :/

@Nobbel87 Can you add annotations to skip the recycled lines?
Just watching as many of Nobbel's vids as I can to make sure I see them all....anyway I agree with others that copying one of the Mage order halls artifact quests ( and I do think it was priest copying mage, rather than the other way around since it makes way more sense for a mage weapon to be with the Blue Dragons than a priest weapon ). THAT'S ME AT THE BEGINNING! WITH BENEDICTION!
Shubie 8066 dude i instantly noticed Anathema, I commend you on your devotion to the game and the priest class... Seeing that the staff is still around makes me happy!
nobbel87 your freaking awesome
Wow blizz, thanks for the ripoff of the arcane artifact quest line.
Mr Meme yeah FUCK you blizzard
that's not all. Holy paladins, Arms Warrior, Shadow priests are the same aswell. Much like Balance druid is the same as Unholy DK's. A lot of the artifacts quest lines were recycled

your latest alt names are becoming "random keyboard smash names"? xD what happened to nobbel+add sth behind it!!
It's so weird to see the same story with light's wrath. It made way more sense with aluneth and it's kinda weird to see light's wrath here. They totally could've put the staff in dalaran but you have to attune to both shadow and light so you can wield it so you can really get the ''discipline'' theme.
Holy shit is Azuregos Reinhardt?
Yes. Arcane mage finds McCree the magic staff with the help of Reinhardt the blue dragon in their copy of this questline
it says arcane mages in the description, I think you mean discipline priests?
or have I been playing disc wrong?
Probably because this and Arcane mage are pretty much the same quest.
It's a joke. Because Blizzard made the quest line the same for both weapons. Well almost. There are very slight differences in the questline, but overall it's the same.
Ohhh fair enough, that makes sense :p I thought it might have been a copy paste error :p
well both artifacts are in the nexus vault
i think it's more about the weapon itself and the story takes place to the Nexus.Since it has power more like fire(see Ragnaros the Lightlord) uncontrollable powers .
More ideas:The Sunwalkers and the bloodelve priests that drew power of the Sunwell.
Great video, as always, Nobbs! I have a minor question though, is it just me or is Azuregos voiced by Darin De Paul (aka Reinhardt)?
wait a min.
Are you trying to trick me?
Why is Moonclock in that picture? 5:57
I like that dragon.
Staffbringer
Theres an error in the subs at 19:00
For a second there, I thought this was the arcane Artifact questline
heey nobbel, i want to create a new character but i want to have the best experience out of my leveling, im running alliance and i want to know some really nice questing zones for me to feel the most satisfaction once im done leveling, any ideas?
Calia Menethil... in the first shot. Is she related to arthas?
Yep that's his sister who nearly got married to Deathwing
I wonder if Calia Menethil will ever retake Lordaeron?
She renounced her claim to the throne
I bet there is an alternate Azeroth where she did marry Deathwing and now she walks funny...
Acrymon How do you mean?
13:48 Kremit the Frog
*screams in arcane*
Can we get a monk artifact next?:( Preferably Windwalker! :D
Azuregos voice sounds familiar.... Is it the same voice actor as Reinhardt from Overwatch?
13:50 You started going Kermit a bit there.
Female dwarf priest? What's that?
Moira Thaurissan is a Female Dwarf Priest and one of the more lore heavy characters in terms of Dwarfs
Nah he is just a beardless dwarf.
Another thing, malygos was never woking with the etherals ,malygos wasnt a bad guy his whole goal was to shoot the magic they were stealing out into the great dark beyond, not all of it but a lot of it, so it could not be used again right?
In the discription is says arcane mage
World Of Zippetty he probably copy pasted it from the arcane Mage vid sinc they're the same questline
The joke went way over your head haha, Arcane mages quest is almost the exact same quest, that's why lol.
I'm kinda disappointed in the story-line since it is (as you said) a copy-paste of the arcane artifact.... I wonder which other Artifacts are like that
Holy paladin and arms warrior
Erik shadow priest also gets their weapon from the same place as the arms warrior, didn't know the holy paladin but I don't play it. The shadow priest story is slightly different though
Dawnstar as holy paladin you flee from some evil, which is the boss you kill as an arms warrior, I guess
Is Azuregos' voice the same as Reinhardt's?:D
This is pretty late, but I thought Azuregos' voice sounded familiar. His "human" form should have been Reinhardt!
What's Moonclucking doing in the background?
I can’t wait until my priest is level 100, I love this artifact.
Didn't you upload this video before.... :P
Where do u get all this info for the artifact weapons ?
Is the dragon the same actor as Reinhardt?
Yes
any information on how and why arthas' sister is there? lore on her? pls?
Played through many and looked into all but the hunter class campaigns. Priests got the poopy end of the stick. Cut and paste artifact quests, empty order hall, dissapointing snd boring quests and no npc interaction. Honestly priest got the worst of all of them. All others have class campaigns that are almost perfectly themed, lively class halls with lots of npc interaction, quests that require you to use your uniqe abilities etc
Kendrick O'Rourke hearthstone tho
+Ronan Primero i dont get it?....oh! U mean how priest has been in such a bad place for over a year i get haha
Kendrick O'Rourke you didn't saw the new expansion? new priest overlords coming through
+Ronan Primero really??? Ill look into it thanks for letting me know :)
Kendrick O'Rourke rise of priest is like the underdog winning
I was thinking this sounded familiar. Copy+pasting isn't okay, blizz. I'm with other players that sending us to the scarlet crusade outpost in northrend would have been better. Maybe actually utilizing those scarlet members in New Dalaran to get an update on why they're here.
do the warswords of the valajar next please
Not sure if the weapon call light wrath or note 7
When you spot your own RP character in one of Nobble's Video's at 6:17
did blizzard just copy paste big stretches of the aluneth artifact for priests?
What I don't get about the copy paste is... why the hell couldnt the priest just be the mage dude that was hunting for it instead? Except without the dying part.
Azuregos callin us out shit
Anyone know when blizzard's going to have the season sales? I could really get back into wow because of this new expansion.
does azuregos like kalec?
Priest best class :) For me of course :D
Checked if Darin had voiced Azuregos and it seems he has a handful of other roles as well! Not just minor, either: Vindicator Boros; Trade Prince Gallywix; Battlelord Gaardoun just to name a few. ~#TheMoreYouKnow
Why does this questline look identical to Aluneth's?
hahaha as a blood elf priest I didn't wait long enough for him to say to mind control that flame elemental, I just used my racial to interrupt. Who needs mechanics
Priest artifacts? Does this mean you are going to tell us the story of the priest honourhall story soon?
Apocalypse next!
There's something a little sexy about Azuregos.
Xal'atath next?! :)
I think actually the Arcane mage line was copy pasted from this one
My biggest argue point is the dialogue in the Arcane mage line, not only is some of it missing (I.E they don't say mage, but they say priest)
And Azuregos' line after being freed from those ethereans inside the Nexus has a different pitch entirely, where as this is the exact same pitch throughout.
All bow down to the mighty High Priest Arghgh!
What's an Aluneth? But really Light's Wrath fits this so much better
Why do you think? Aluneth is arcane just like blue dragons.
Is this maybe "MY" Story ? :D
literally went to nobbel's channel to check if i saw this before, turns out no but i basically had. the mage one n this one is reallllllllllyyyyyy similar
RAFAAM THE SUPREME ARCHEOLOGIST!
do you have ANY male characters? lol
did u just assume it's gender
AnimatedDisc shit dude, I forgot it was 2016. I'm sorry, don't burn me at the stake!
*triggered*
lol if ur going to play a game for hours wouldn't be better to look at somethin nice and not a man ass
You're just butt hurt since you never leave your basement so you try to chat up men with female characters ;p;/ lol
hi need lore on new kara cines thx
Femdwarf FTW
Anyone noticed arthas little sister in the class hall at the beginning ?
lol no way, I took that screenshot at 6.00
Cats hate wardrobes. That is all. xD
According to Legion:
paladins > priests
demon hunters > warlocks
