I know individuals (doctors, lawyers, other service providers) who receive gifts from clients. Many do not report these ‘gifts’ as income. Yet some think tips should be taxed. Rules for the elites and rules for others. The wealthy can dole out lavish gifts to each other - vacation homes, flights on private aircrafts, meals. A bartering system which is not taxed.

Liz Peek makes a great point in regard to simplifying the all these taxes. Yes, indeed it would be something that every tax payer would enjoy if all taxes were rolled into one leaving us with much less headaches.
The only issue i have with a flat tax is that it will damage the good, beneficial non profits, that do good work that the government fails to do.

Flat tax is a great idea, but I say no more than 10 %. The reason is that when God requires His due, he only asks for a tenth.
