- This is my motorcycle travel setup for 2023. I've tested and tried many motorcycle touring bags but I think I've finally found a bag that suits all of my motorcycle travel needs. Lets dive into all the details that makes this bag unique and how I think it will help my previous issues when it comes down to traveling by way of the motorcycle. In 2022, I traveled several miles on my Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. With that, came an education on what it takes to travel and how to pack for long motorcycle adventures. Motorcycle travel is one of the greatest experiences but it comes with the stress of packing. I hope this video helps you if you are in the market for some traveling luggage for your next motorcycle trip. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe if you enjoy the content. I love my RickRak bag.
Thanks for the info 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Love the RickRak
Nice bag, convenient
We use this exact bag! So easy to connect and disconnect! It holds a lot and love the handle and wheels for convenience! We def also recommend this Rick Rak bag. We have lots of trips planned with Daytona up next
Great video mate. I love my RickRak bag, totally stand by it. 100% agree with everything you said man, great bag! ✌️
Thanks brother. 🤙🏻
We've been looking at options for my Son's new Road Glide. A tour pack and passenger seat are the normal fixes. However, that's not the look he wants on it. Saw where Million Dollar Bogan had his bike revamped at Matt Laidlaw's Harley ( I watch both channels). He had this same RickRak installed. Watching the total abuse he does on that bike. I was considering it as an option. Your video and seal of approval solidifies this decision. Thanks for the info & safe travels
Excellent video Ryan. Thanks for the good words!
Keep in mind that the rack on your tour pack is held on by 4 screws. I like the design, but would worry about those screws breaking through the plastic tour pack lid.
Great video. and the mounting bracket is truly a great idea, But you failed to mention that even with the lock secured to the rack, it can vibrate loose and fall off or be stolen. I like the way some people will say that although not sponsored they did give you this bag for free and therefore you probably would have to give a positive review only, because at the redonkulos prices they are asking for the bag I don't think they would want to risk loosening customers if you told everyone that the bag can and may fall off or can be stolen, even with the lock securing it. So everyone save yourself about $250 and get a Nelson Rigg or the Onyx. Use the straps to secure it to the rack (for this the Nelson Rigg is the best choice) and you won't have to worry about it ever falling off. Don't worry about a lock either if someone wants your bag they are going to take it faster that you will know. best security? If you are traveling in a group and are worried about your bag. Take turns watching the bikes or park where you can keep an eye on them.
That’s interesting. I just completed 7400 miles with this bag. Through some gnarly weather and questionable terrain. Bag never fell off, rack stayed secure, and no one stole it. 🤷🏼♂️
We love RickRak. They are located about 10 miles from us, so we visit quite often. Great video.
Thanks for watching Bob. This bag definitely hits a lot of points for me. Ride safe.
Cool story Bro
Nice bag. I have a Saddlemen bag that's formed to sit over the rear seat for use on motel trips. Honestly, don't do a whole lot of those, but when I have it's held all my stuff pretty well. I like to camp a lot so I ended up getting a small cargo trailer. I was using it with my '06 Vulcan 900 Classic, but I've moved to a '15 Vulcan 1700 Vaquero. My camping gear lives in the trailer & it just takes a minute or two to hook up. Just gotta throw some clothes in a bag & food in the cooler. Gone are the days of piling $#!+ all on my bike. I'll never go back. Now I carry a huge instant tent I can stand up & get dressed in & an inflatable 16" thick twin air mattress. My comfort level has gone up so much & my trips are that much more enjoyable. It doesn't affect the way the bike rides either. No sway or bounce. I have to remind myself it's even back there.
after watching Daniel Hayes, aka Million Dollar Bogan, use a Rick Rack setup i will definitely buy one
MDB has definitely torture tested this bag. There is no doubt about the durability thanks to his experience with it. Thanks for watching Bill.
Who?
Ooooh. Where we going on our next adventure baby?
Wherever you want to baby.
Well timed video! I am looking at a new travel bag for my trips this year (strapping the standard suitcase to the bike just ain’t cutting it!). Thanks.
Glad this video came out at the right time for ya. I appreciate you watching. 🤙🏻
Great video. I used the Ric Rack system on my 3 week long trip from California to Banff Canada. It worked great and the rain cover did not blow off.
I just made my hotel reservations for Sturgis 23 road trip too. Keep up with those great videos too.
Thanks for watching Tom. Banff is definitely on my list. How was it? Ride safe.
Agree with the bag choice. I went without the wheels and just carry the bag. The addition of this bag allowed me to put tools and foul weather gear in 1 saddle bag and left the tour pack for my helmet and be locked when away from the bike. Packing is now what do I want to bring more than what do I need to bring.
Oh....I think we've seen how great this Ric Rack is ;)
Thank you for the info, was kind of looking at the RicRack bag still considering it. This year plans are heading up the Rockaway, OR for an extended weekend, and Lake Powell, AZ, both from N.Cali. In June traveling back east for Laconia Bike week, hitting Niagara Falls, then over to Boston before hitting Laconia, NH, then up to Bangor, Maine.
Thanks for watching Louis. Sounds like you have some epic trips planned this year. I too plan on being at Laconia, along with the HD 120th event. Ride safe. 🤙🏻
I run the RickRak roller bag on my 18 SGS. The rain cover is BOSS; never a leak. LOVE this bag and highly recommend it. Great review! Taking my bike with the RickRak from Ontario Ca to Washington DC for this year's RunForTheWall ride. And back. I'll be 20+ days on the road and I'm sure I'll have enough room. The roller bag / handle makes this the best. I did have the original RickRak without the roller bag feature and quickly upgraded when it became available.
Nice! 20 days will be amazing. Ride safe and thanks for watching. 🤙🏻
I want to visit west of africa coming winter time and ohh I already subscribe and i have watched couple of your very infomative video .
Hey great video as always! We are leaving from north western Ontario Canada and heading to Tennessee area and on our way back home we will attend the Harley 120th!
Nice! Hopefully we see you at the 120th. Ride safe and thanks for watching. 🤙🏻
I have the Ric Rack, but also use a water proof duffle on my King Tour Pak! Plan on the Blue Ridge Parkway this yr.
Awesome! Blue Ridge Parkway is on my bucket list. Ride safe and thanks for watching. 🤙🏻
Awesome...I have seen Bogan use one on his crazy trips and you just sold it to me, we're doing Sturgis this year for the first time and this will be perfect for my Ultra Limited....really enjoying the channel....keep it going!!!
MDB has tested this bag to the max for sure. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 🤙🏻
Also doing Sturgis for the first time!
@@efrainv3497 Nice….we’re staying in Deadwood coming from California.
@@realtorsonaharley nice, staying in Rapid City coming from Des Moines, Iowa. Lived in California for a while in the Imperial Valley.
We're going for the first time as well, staying in Keystone, coming from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
Great video, brother. I don't run a rack on my tourpak, so I have a different setup. But this is an awesome option for people
Thanks for watching brother. Yeah, without a rack, it wouldn't work. Do you use a backseat bag?
@@FullThrottleHOG yes I do... and George uses his rack!!
Looks like a solid bag, see ya at Laconia 🤙🏼
Yes! Laconia. See you there Dez.
Love it. Need it. New England woods Atlantic coast Ride 8-12-23 to 8-25-23. Upstate NY Vermont New Hampshire and all around Maine and back. Great review thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching Ray. It is a really well made bag. Safe travels. 🤙🏻
I’ve also got this bag for travel , after watching Million Dollar Bogan punish his bag for many miles in extreme conditions, I knew this was the bag for me. I met you at the Stubborn American party and maybe I catch up with you at Arizona Bike Week. Keep safe
MDB has put this bag through its paces for sure. Thanks for watching and looking forward to meeting up again during AZ bike week. 🤙🏻
We're riding to Sturgis this year from Long Island, NY. So far, It's my longest ride. Space on the bike is definitely a concern.
That will be an awesome trip! Hopefully we see you out there. Ride safe and thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video Ryan, I just checked the link for the bag, and its the same size as my Nelson Rigg so I can attest to how much you can put in this bag, what the RickRack has that the Nelson Rigg doesn't is the ability to wheel it to and from the bike AND the ability to lock it to the luggage rack, both HUGE advantages over the bag I have. The way it mounts to the luggage rack also looks to be superior to Nelson Rigg, I guess i'm going shopping for a new bag. Planning the ride to Sturgis, hope to meet you there. thanks and keep the videos coming
Thanks for watching Bill. Having the ability to roll the bag was a game changer for me. Hopefully we can meet up at some point this year. Ride safe.
How do you like the Simpson Mod Bandit Helmet
This bag looks awesome. One question….How much does it weigh with it packed? I would be a little concerned that it might overload the luggage rack on my Tour Pak.
I guess I don't understand the need for such a large bag in addition to the immense amount of space the Ultra already has. I've spent 8 days in Sturgis with my girlfriend in a tent and we only used the luggage rack for the tent and our jackets when we took them off. You are probably exceeding the recommended weight limit of the tour pack also. In summary: Save your money. Pack 3 days of clothes and hit up a laundry mat.
Hi sir. Have you been in the rain with this bag without the weather cover? I’m curious how weather proof it is.
What would be your loaded weight of the RicRack plus contents?
I’ll have to weigh it next time and see. It’s nothing more than what I’ve stacked on in the past. Thanks for watching. 🤙🏻
Do you use the Harley rain gear? Seems a little pricey
You talk to much
Thanks for watching. I hope this helped you out.
