Great clip. Just found you guys. New sub. For long trips to cut down, I wear pants twice, fresh T,socks, and draws each day. Counting the set I wear day one. 3 pants, 6 Ts etc, enough for six days. Longer trips I do laundry on day 5. Keep it movin with less packing. Maybe that'll help someone. Safe trip fellas, we're riding out from Jersey, maybe a meet up while your there.
Great to hear, Thanks Douglas! The two of us typically do the same, bringing 2-3 pairs of pants. We'll let our buddy Rob figure that part out the hard way lol..
If you see us out there, come say whats up! it's gonna be a great ride, can't wait.
@@2LaneLifeHa! I get it, somethings are best learned on ones own. I'll be on the lookout fer ya. Ride safe.
Safe travels everyone. I'll be heading out from southern California. If you see a 27 year old I'm a black wide glide with a prosthetic right leg, that'll be me 🦿 say what's up! 😁
@@thedon217 We'll keep an eye out for you! Safe Travels.
As will I!!!! Gladd I found your guys page 🤘
Great video. The only thing I pack you did not mention.
1. Mini air compressor.
2. Tire repair kit.
3. A can of fix a flat.
All good points! Thanks David👍
Guys, I'm trying to binge watch from the beginning, but you guys have such good content it's hard to go back, but I'll get it done.
Thanks Freddie Ray! We noticed a few comments and on different Vlogs today. We love it and hope you do as well! Thanks for your kind words and support!! 👍👍
The Biltwell xfill-11 tank bag rocks to put a ton of stuff in. Also don’t pack a speedo with skid marks, trust me. 🤘⚡️🤘
We'll have to check those out, thanks for the input! We usually don't rock tank bags since we have plenty of storage space, but sounds like a solid option. No speedos here lol
I packed 2-3 times the tools and not nearly as much else as you guys did for a solo 4,200 mile trip through 7 countries in Europe last October on a Dyna.
Nice man! Definitely plenty of options. Always nice to have extra tools for sure!
@@2LaneLife
Well, my bike has never broken down on the road but it does have 129,000+ miles so I'm always watching.
Nice, showed some solid looking options, a little for everyone. Appreciate it
Thanks AmericanAF!! Definitely no one-size-fits-all, but we tried to show a few different options and generalities for road trip packing. Over the years, we've learned to pack lighter for sure.
Thanks for watching 👍🇺🇸
Quickly becoming my new favorite channel.
Thanks Austin, we really appreciate the support! Ride On!
I love the saddleman 3500, I have been using it since it came out on my street glide. the only thing I can add to the packing list is a tent, air matrass and camping gear because I love to camp for my big trips. I try to do about 50/50 camp and motel
We agree! Great bag lots of room and for sure adding a Tent and gear is 👍👍!
I’m really glad I found your channel. Very informative, and very entertaining.
Thanks Two Wheel Tommy! Welcome to the family!
On trips like to Sturgis for example when you know you will be staying for a several days at the same place I have heard instead of bringing all your gear on the bike some people only pack the gear they will need to get there like rain gear tool kit and will have bulk of their luggage shipped to where know know will be staying at via FedEx or UPS or even pick up at the local post office and it will be there by the time you arrive and ship back to their home. . This is very helpful if you are riding 2 up or have a bike with limited luggage space .
Oh yea! We've done that a few times and it can certainly come in handy for longer trips. For us, we tend to wing it for our destination unless it's a trip like Sturgis, so if the route changes, we'd like to have everything on us. A great option in most cases though! Thanks for watching, Mark 👍
First time viewer... thoroughly enjoyed.
Cheers guys... like the options with the cobra sissy bar and the duffel... riding my Kawi nomad, you’ve given me some more ideas.
Stay well
Steve.
Thanks for watching Steve! Tons of different options out there for packing setups. Have fun out there 🤘🏼
Saddlemen products are the best. If I'm riding solo on a long trip like Sturgis, I run the Saddlemen BR4100 tactical. It's the back seat mounted bag that seconds as an actual backrest. Best bag I've ever used. Room to spare in that thing. Allows me to strictly use saddlebag and chopped tour pack space for essentials, tools, spare gas, mini-compressor, etc.
Thanks John! We love our Saddlemen luggage and seats. You’re spot on with your assessment!
This Saddleman TR3300 will be ordered asap to fit my new Tour Pack on my Road Glide.
Big Lance loves his.
One of the tricks the wife and I do on trips is mail our dirty clothes and whatever we buy back every couple days. 7 day trip we will mail 2 boxes back. So last 3 days we have plenty of room.
Nice! Not a bad idea if you're short on space 🤘👍
I line my storage bags with a waterproof bag or garage bag, that way I don't have to worry about my stuff getting wet when I get caught in the rain.
Nice! Gotta keep the essentials dry for sure! Thanks for the input 👍🏼
Pants take up alot of room. Cut them to a minimum. And, always carry bungy net for stuff that can be strapped to the outside. Then, mail stuff home when heading back.
Thanks Dennis
Everyone forgets Bungie for old lady when she falls asleep🤔
Haha you can't forget that one! 😂🤘
Bad ass video. Good tips for a long haul. 💪🏽 🇺🇸 have fun on the trip. Y’all rock dudes
Thanks Carlos! Packing right definitely makes the ride run smooth. Thank for watching! 🇺🇸
Little trick I got is to put the latex gloves into the yellow shell in which the toy from a kinder surprise egg sits.
1. you will be able to find them more easy with the bright yellow colour of the plastic shell (especially if you use black gloves)
2. the gloves stay together
3. the gloves stay dry no matter where you put them
(I don’t know if kinder surprise eggs are still illegal in America tho)
If you can find some, try it out, it’s a bit tough to get them in at first but the preparation time is worth it.
Also when you got multiple you can just throw one in each bag.
You are Guaranteed to find one In any situation no matter if first aid, repair or rain.
Thank you for the feedback. All good comments!
2LaneLife love your Video’s btw, really inspiring to just go out and travel on a motorcycle.
I live in Japan and touring on a highway/expressway is a big no go for me here since the tolls are so expensive.
(700miles can cost up to 200$)
That’s why I mostly travel on back country roads, one gets such a good feeling of the country, the beautiful nature and on stops you can support small local businesses
(I would guess it is the same for America too)
Every time you guys talk about all the American Flags you saw while travelling, one can really see all the love for the country in your eyes, which is just awesome.
Everyone should love their home country and every other country they’re travelling through for that matter.
With that said 🤘stay safe and keep having a good time.
@@A_Ride_To Awesome comment, thanks for the kind words! Very true, it is important to love the country you are from, and just as important to love all other countries, especially when traveling. Those tolls sound expensive! That would definitely add up. The back country roads are better anyway, and you're right, it's better to support the small businesses back there anyway. Thanks again, we're glad to have inspired you. Every time we get a comment like that, it makes us want to get out and do it more, and it inspires us as well 🤘🏼
I learned from being in the Army if you roll all of your clothes they pack much better and do not get wrinkled
Thanks Matt! We'll have to start doing that. Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Great stuff guys! I’m running the saddlemen 3400. Thing is super sweet!
Might see you guys out towards sturgis. Ride safe!
They're rad! plenty of room inside and they keep things organized forsure! Catch ya out there!
Nice Video!! The products shown look well made an durable for the intended purpose. Thanks for sharing. Ride Safe!!
You bet! Thanks for watching and commenting.
This really helps! I don’t usually carry tools but I should. Can you do a video on the tools you pack? Thanks
Join us on our 3:30 Live Instagram on Mondays. We will put this on our list to cover on a Monday and look for a chance to Vlog it too. Thanks for the watch and feedback.
I really like these videos! I use to live near Toprock in Canoga Park. I'm in Nashville now-LOTS of great places to ride here!!!!!
Thanks B! We appreciate that you enjoy our stuff! Welcome to our family!
Thanks for the tips, Where do you put your Sleeping Bags?
Sometimes motels are full and ya have to camp, or maybe Camping on the trip was part of the trip.
My son and I were going to go to sturgis, But we changed our plans to go to Glacier National park , and the the Northern west Montana to Sandpoint, west to The Coast hwy 101 Washington to Californy, Camping the whole trip.
Man that sounds like an epic trip Paul! We usually have a house to rent/stay at in Sturgis Proper so we don't bring tents. Luckily at the moment because of the current situation, many hotels have plenty of open rooms on our journey out there as well. If we were to bring a tent/sleeping stuff, we'd probably use a larger rack and just strap it down. Suitcase could go on the front of the sissy bar, and camping gear behind the sissy bar on the rack. Plenty of options to choose from.
Hope you guys have a great trip, stay safe out there!
Super informative. Nice work
Thanks Michael!
Rob's bike is FIRE..!
It sure is!
Nice video. Be safe in all your travels guys.
Thank you! Will do! Thanks for watching!
I love the saddleman gear.
We do too. As you can see we run different variations of the gear. We also run their seats and love them too! Thanks for the comment and support!
Bungee cord is #1 thing...! Lol you can be strapped on the back of a bike for safety🙂
haha right?!
Great video guys!
Thanks guys!! Can't wait for the updated version for Sturgis 2021!
@@2LaneLife You know it!
Heading to Yellowstone tomorrow, then sturgess. Enjoy the ride. Time flies. I can’t believe it’s August already. Anyhow , thanks for the vid. Just found the channel. First time going , is there anything you guys suggest we see when we get there. Thanks again
Just be careful. Lot's of riders and not all are so skilled. You have to try the Boars Nest for their Burger and beer. Take the Roads around Rushmore, Spearfish Canyon, and Go out to Devils Tower. Enjoy Yellowstone it's Awesome! Ride Safe!
2LaneLife thank you 🙏 take care
@@2LaneLife Don't forget The Needles and Cody National Monument while in the Black Hills. Also Chief Crazy Horse! Rapid City HD might also be worth a visit, down the road from Sturgis, as well as The Badlands.
Now I know how and what to pack. HOW MUCH money will I need for a trip such as yours.
It depends on how many days and if your traveling solo or not, hotels vs camping etc. But average $40 a day in gas, $40 a day in food, $150 a day in lodging?
Hello, I’m a big fan of your videos, can you do a video on the cameras y’all use and how you mount them
Thank you
We’re happy to discuss.
hey Everyone, while in Sturgis, try to stop by the Ponderosa Cafe and Bar in Hewlett WY for their Rally in the Alley. Be sure to tell the owner Dean that Joe O. sent you. He will treat you like family. Ride safe!
Solid, thanks Joe! We'll have to check it out if we roll through the area. Thanks for the recommendation! Stay safe out there🤘🏼
@@2LaneLife I think they still have " no panty Wednesday!"
I’m assuming being in Sturgis, you all will be buying apparel Sturgis shirts and such like, therefore i would assume you could cut down on the shirts ?
Lots of options and thats one of them. Thanks for the comment!
When I take long road trips and buy a lot of shirts I go to the post office and mail them home
Lucky Rob, that was cool ✊
👍👍 Rob is Lucky!!
thanks for the tutorial I've attached everything you but some key components missing light air compressor flat utv 2 gallon gas can riding to Alaska from Wisconsin safe travels also passport going up through Canada
Glad you liked it and yes a compact air compressor is good too.
Awesome video, thank you!
Thanks for tuning in!
Orale 6 pair of pants and 10 shirts? I gotta try that next time but wearing the same pair of pants for 3weeks straight did keep people away from me thanks to this pandemic, and only one extra shirt kept the mosquitoes away..lol cool video..
Haha that's one way to keep them away! We brought 3 pairs of paints and a shirt for every day to Sturgis, this was more for a general guide on long trips with no access to washers. With all the heat, we're glad we had a little extra for sure! Thanks for watching Johnny!
Well I'm trying to figure out how to pack for a 14,722 mile run lighthouse to lighthouse around the entire United States 🇺🇸. Lots of logistics to conquer. Film crews so involved I'm still lost! But I have professionals figuring out how to science this run.
Lots of logistics!! You'll figure it out. As long as you've got clothes, gear, and some basic tools👍
I'm just deciding now on buying the Rik Rak system, thanks for posting this, i was going to buy just the hardware and attach it to the Harley tour pack bag, it's dimensions are bigger, and seems better quality, it's disappointing to see such a fail though, if there were a few more out there having this problem? it would be a big issue, at first I'm thinking it wasn't tightened enough, or checked every gas stop? Maybe eliminate those rubber grommets, and adhere something to the metal rack itself , like electrical tape, and tighten it metal to metal, nobody sees the scratches if any and the rack comes right off when your done using it, i hate those damn straps and bungee cords 😂thanks again✌️🇺🇲
Glad we could help out. Each has its ups and downs for sure. We don't have any personal experience with the Rick Rack system, but we've heard good things
great vid!!
thank you!!
What tool bag/pouch do you guys run and what brand of tools ?
We have a few, but the tool roll is from Thrashin which is on out site, and usually Craftsman Tools.
6 pairs of pants for 10 days? what? wtf. why? The blue and white paint scheme is awesome.
We usually bring 2 pairs for a trip like that, we were just showing how a first timer might pack if they have the room. The blue and white scheme is rad for sure! Thanks for watching, Rob👍
Man i only bring 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants 4 pairs of socks and 4 boxers everytime i head outta town. And that's for like 2 weeks, i guess i ride dirty xD
Run what you run!!👍👍🤘🤘
Nice gear!!
Thanks Samuel!!👍👍
Galen needs to bungee a good Pony Keg of IPA on his sissy bar. Something that drinks good when warm.
Haha you know it!!
Great Video! I own one of those Saddleman bags. Worn out! lol Its has some miles on it! Do you guys have a video of the pelican case with the camera gear and how thats attached? different pelican cases have the roller handle spaced different i think. Theres no pelican store around and im looking for a model where it can easily attach to the Harley two up mount and the pull out handle not be in the way of the bolts. Thank you
Thanks for tuning in! Josh has videos on the story highlights on his instagram @2lane.jay
With the Pelican im2620 case, the bolt holes for the Cobra 2-up tour pack rack just barely cleared the housing for the roller handle
@@2LaneLife Thank you for responding! I’m going to check that out! See ya down the road! 😁👍
What was the 2-3 day smaller Saddleman you placed on the rack. You didn’t mention the model. Not the roll you put on top of the 3400.
R1300LXE maybe?

Thanks Scott! A must see, gotta make it out at least once!
are you going to br set up anywhere in Sturgis?? I leave Friday heading that way!!!
We got a house in Sturgis Proper, and we'll be hangin' at a few booths! Won't be set up at our own booth this year
Hey guys, this was an awesome video for me. My wife and I are headed to the Thunder Beach Rally in Panama City. We’re making it a 14 day trip. I need some advice on which bags to carry. I’m running with a tour pack and I guess I need to stack a couple of the bags Lance straps to his. I think u said it was a Saddleman 3300. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Not to mention I’ll buy them from you.
Saddlemen TRD 3300 is what we recommend. They are currently in stock but have been out for over a month. I would get now if you want one. Also, you can give a few of our packing videos a look and or give us a call if needed. 1-818-207-7084 have a great ride!
@@2LaneLife I’m sorry to keep bugging you but are the 3300’s set up so I could stack one on top of another. Especially, since my back seat is occupied. I’ve seen some pretty interesting Dry Bags, but I’m thinking the 3300’s would work providing I can stack them securely. You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for your time.
I learned to not overpack. Take only what you need...or what you can't buy if needed. Less is more. 10 days...You can get away with 4 pair of jeans....double up. You can buy cheap shirts...I wear underamour.....they pack very easy. And don't forget your debit card.
Yup, that's the way to do it. Personally, we pack a bit less than how we showed our buddy Rob in this video for his first big trip. Typically 2-3 jeans, socks/shirts/skivvies for every day, etc...
Great tip on the under armour.
Thanks for watching, Jon! We'll be making an updated video this year before Sturgis
just found your channel I have a 19 roadglide ultra ,what seats do you ride . thaks
Thanks for the watch and support. We both run Saddlemen Slims LS you can see on our site at 2LaneLife.com along with the gear we run on our bikes. Ride On!
What knife do you have on?
Lance's knife is a Custom by Half Face Blades
www.halffaceblades.com/
So were do you put the tent and sleeping bag,
That’s next! 😂😂👍👍🤘🤘
You could dump at least half of that for a 4 week trip.
There's always one.
Where do you put the kitchen sink? 😂
In with the bathtub. To each there own. Our Dude wanted to take what he wanted to take. 👍👍🤘🤘
Don’t gentleman use tank bags?
We'll probably try some out soon👍
On trips I throw away underwear n socks n buy new at walmart as needed. Some stuff is hassle to wash.
That's definitely an option!
Where do you keep your guns and extra ammo?
In the saddlebags.
@@2LaneLife with the essentials! Great channel....see ya on the road. North Carolina.
I have ridden hundreds of thousands of miles and NEVER brought a gun !!! Is this a lame biker thing ??? What the hell kind of event are you going to ??
I have also rode hundreds of thousands of miles and always carry my gun. Not in my saddlebag though, I wear it on my side. Extra ammo on my off side.
Important item you forgot, FLIP FLOPS for showers!
Right on! Thanks for the comment!
Wet shoes are a better choice .. $20 bucks .. any sports shop
What about camping gear?
Not on this one but for sure we can do a camping packing vid!👍👍
Do you sale the straps ?? and bungie straps ??
Not at the moment but hopefully soon! Any bungees work, you can find them at a local home depot/hardware store. Maybe a couple foot long ones and a 16inch or two 👍🏼
I use rok straps
Bin the bungees,Rok straps are 10 times better.
👍
WTH extra quart of oil? They still leak come on Harley
Not for the leaking but long trips in high heat you can burn a little oil.
Why 6 pair of pants for a 10 day drive?
That’s how he wanted to pack.
Personally I think that's way way too
much stuff
There's definitely a lot of ways to do it. We had Rob pack quite a bit extra than we normally would, to use as a general guideline for packing on long trips. Our actual setup was a bit lighter than pictured. Thanks for the comment!
Don't forget your spare saddlebags that you stuffed full of money...
You have to as Deadwood Casinos are great!
You have to take the hat.
We do. 🤘🤘
6 pairs of jeans seems like overkill.
Indeed it is. We usually just bring one or two pairs but we were just showing how a newbie might pack for their first trip. I don't even think I own 6 pairs of jeans😂
Pro tip: if you have not watched this episode yet grab yourself a bottle of whiskey or tequila and take a shot every time they say run/runnin. No mortal will make it through the whole 13 minutes.
Hahaha that's just not gonna end well😂
Way to much clothes.2 jeans, 4 pr socks & underwear. 2 short sleeve, 2 long sleeve sun shirts. That’s all u need , you will buy a few shirts , plus learn to do laundry. Riding gear :leather and light wt jackets , rain gear , extra gloves and glasses and a helmet. Good to go 4 days or a month.
Thanks for the comment. This was mostly for a general guideline for longer trips, especially those where we may not have easy access to washing machines. We usually stick to 2-3 pairs of pants, then socks, draws, and shirts for every day. With the 110 degree days throughout, we actually ran through most of our clothing before even getting to Sturgis, but luckily we had a washer at the house. For a 2 week trip, no harm in having a few extras 👍🏼
I can appreciate that. I made a run to Sturgis several times myself from Ohio. Have ridden in 110° /115° several times on trips out west ,throughout my career. The nice thing about son shirts and Duluth underwear and socks they’re all quick drying I think at night or with a hose in the on your way in the morning.
@@rickhodapp9402 That quick-dry definitely comes in handy! We'll have to try those out
You pack way too much stuff.
Right! All we need is an Ice Cream Maker and we're good!
@@2LaneLife dont forget the wine rack.
@@theone2be33 😂👌🏼
Just turn your underwear and socks inside out and you have doubled your capacity.
😂😂
Men of Sturgis:
Underwear and socks
We get it!
Unbelievable that not only did they not cancel the rally, but that people are still going. WTF is wrong with Americans? This is so pathetic, the bikers are not known for their healthy lifestyle, many are old, fat, unfit, obese and have underlying health issues because of their lifestyle. Sturgis will be a breading ground for COVID is its pathetic the SD Governor has allowed it to proceed.
People will get COVID, then take home to their spouse, children, elderly parents, so pathetic and i bet minimal masks.
We appreciate the input
Well this didn’t age well.
Y’all travel heavy.
Like we said, just options for a beginner. Usually for a 1 week trips it's 1 pair of boots, 1-2 jeans, and shirts/socks/draws for each day. Thanks for tuning in
Cringe old man conversation 😅
Love the positivity and valuable input to the comments section
Why should I go to Sturgis and support motorcycle club drug dealers? Naw I'll pass and give this video a solid thumbs down.
Sorry you feel this way. This video is intended to show people how to pack regardless of the destination. Make it a great day!
