He warned you he used to be a salesman 😂
The old man played you like one of his instruments.
Got to give him props.
A real battle between buyer/seller
This time,the seller won
😂😂😂
1000$?.....No, give u a 100
The banjo is potentially worth thousands. At a minimum, $500
@@timcarter817how do you figure ?
You need to hire Jay as a salesman in the store. I think he can sell anything you have.
He is no joke he will make you just gove your money up
Lol Is this the Asian Fella talking like he brought in the ancient secret grails of music?
he probably has them up on craigslist
Heck na , the dude is Hella annoying
And a few things you don’t!
I think Pete has met his match with this instrument salesman, this guy is talking circles around him!
He's certainly talking in circles .
I like Jay, he's delightful! I hope he comes back in with more things to sell. I'd love to be friends with him and and I would enjoy his stories. I buy old instruments too, but the ones I don't keep I donate to schoolchildren. I still have my clarinet my parents bought me when I was eight, never learned to play it well, but I can honk out a passable "When I'm 64". I better start practicing that song, as I'll be 64 in a year and some change.
I looked up my old clarinet online, and was touched when I found it's a top quality horn for a student, made in France of ebony wood, not plastic. My parents paid good money to get me a quality instrument, but it's not worth much now because brass and woodwind student horns are so ubiquitous. I loaned it to a friend's daughter who played it in marching band and she returned it in good condition with all new pads 3 years later. I'm glad I was able to give her the opportunity and so proud of her!
My 31 year old son would love that 12 string. He plays guitar, but no longer has one and I haven't found him a replacement that I can afford yet. My son has schizophrenia, and playing music really helps him focus his mind. I think he would love to meet Jay. Too bad we are so far away.
I don't think Jay was trying to rip Pete off. When you look at these well made older instruments it's hard to believe they don't sell for much, but that's the market. I could help him list things on eBay, I used to get good prices for junk. I sold a stuffed vintage Dino the dinosaur toy I paid a quarter for, it sold by auction for $67! I felt a little guilty about that, but the buyer was thrilled as it completed his set of 1964 Flintstones toys. I've sold some weird stuff in the past, always amazed at what people would pay for things, like old used concert t-shirts.
You always wait for them to say a price, and then you have to always say a lower price, spread some love, these people are bringing in the things for you to buy ,and then for you to sale to make money, you poor mouth everything, until you buy it ,and then it's the best thing since sliced bread,
The man selling the banjo did the same thing you do when you're buying the stuff he turned it back around on you,
Those who arrive at the battle field early will be prime and ready for battle and those who arrive late will be exhausted - Sun Tzu ; He knew how to market every instrument he had - Pete should have looked it up tho, Petes fault
I don't know why this channel showed up on my feed, but i'm glad it did. Great content.
Sending power and blessings from Melbourne, Australia
Same here mate. Same here!
Nice to see another Aussie enjoying this content :D
This guy with the instruments, you can tell he was a former salesman 😂
I just found this show two weeks ago but I wish I had found it years ago. This puts Pawn Stars to shame. It’s not as flashy or high dollar, but it’s so much more authentic feeling. It actually took me watching 6 or 7 videos before I realized they were staged - that’s how well it is produced. Love it!
That music guy was a mad salesman. He could sell ice to the artic.
Oh I love that old cassette boom box! That was a great time to grow up, living the best life back then! Rock on Pete! Love the show❤
Hello Pete from a real Duranimal...I had so many 12" Extended Mixes in the 80s...I wish I kept them all and had my Ole Radio Shack turntable!!
Ok..the B side to the Reflex mix is rare..See me smile I remember taping them live on VHS and shared it with my dance crew!! I got to skip school in 1984 hours see the concert and today just had to watch it on my Playlist and it brought Fab memories...80s never dies...those old Extendo mixes are a DJ fave...Duranimal hiding in Oklahoma here!! 😊
That old man with the instruments was pretty talented.
If knowing a couple notes and chords is talent then I am a God.
Yeah, he could play every instrument badly.
What about the caaar - I got a 1990 Mercedes Benz
He was playing scales
omg when he pulled out the shoe polisher. This guy needs his own show.
I wish everyone would buy those old film reels, digitise them and then upload to the internet archive. This is footage we can’t get back once it degrades and may have historic value hidden in there.
A website must exist for such a thing
Found this channel last week totally hooked, just love how real you are love from the uk
Find mine ☺
It's not funayyyyyyyyyy😅
I found him randomly in my feed a few months back. The shop is about 10 mins from my place. I was able to visit and look around, its a super cool shop
@@dankkotathats cool! I am quite far away. Would love to visit some day!!!! I wanna pet dat kitty!
That instrument guy was definitely a salesman…..Rick met his match.
Rick ?
Who the hell is this Rick you speak of.....
😂😂😂
Wait… is that funny? That might be funny 😂
You guys were talking about generators like they can only be used for one power outage lol. Maybe you guys in the city don't loose power very often but living out in the woods, happens enough to 100% be worth it.
I live off-grid on solar/wind/battery/inverter system. I have a backup generator I haven't needed to use in years, so it's not working right now. I have a smaller generator that I use just for power tools. I don't like putting a sudden heavy load on my power system, and I have 20 acres so it's better to have a portable generator for my electric chainsaw.
They are also good for powering tools when doing work out in the field
Get that guy jay behind the counter! He could sell most of your stock in a day the amount he can talk, bless him😂
You’ve picked the perfect career for yourself, your are a very likeable guy. Your honesty shines through all of the negotiations even with the scammers. Sidebar, Honey is a gem and could be the twin to my Princess Ashley (passed 2023) 😔
Your patience is admirable. You might have a little old man for a friend.😊
Asian fella had a really cool collection. A collection like that tells a lot about the guy and i respect it. Seems like a legend
32:23 Yes, while Pete and the old guy were talking I was looking up the banjo on Ebay completed items and they're going for under $200 for 1920's models
Nice to see Duran Duran stuff in the beginning of a video 😍 shout out to all the fellow Duranies out there!
That instrument guy was giving you a good deal.
😂😂😂
Cheers Pete! Long life and love to Honey🥰
Really dropped the ball on the Flugelhorn. Thanks for the share.
PeeTarr needs to listen to moar Chuck Mangione!!! 😂
Yes, that Flugelhorn was most likely worth more than the banjo, I looked it up and that brand is quality instrument. They actually have sold for more than $1000. I think Pete will at least break even on the banjo, but the real value is in this video! I enjoyed "meeting" Jay and I hope he comes back soon! He's a delightful man. I was really hoping he'd play that banjo, though. He's talented and I'd love to hear him talk about his life experiences. I wonder how many instruments he can play?
I really don't think he was being dishonest. Those were pretty good quality instruments he had, it's just that student band instruments are so ubiquitous that they can be bought for cheap.
I wish I lived closer, I'd like to be friends with Jay.
@@LazyIRanch Good Points!!! Peter needs to increase his knowledge breadth of things!!! I'd suggest he make friends with "Clifton Hicks"!!!
My GMA used to work at the Elkhart Bundy plant yrs ago and actually made my clarinet for me there! Vincent Bach(not sure on spelling) was the plant that made the brass instruments across the street!
This is the most humble man in the business I’ve ever met I buy shoes from this guys business allot and video games hands down these guys are second to none in the business.
Father's Day last year, we had to use a generator for a week. Power was out all over the city.
I love your videos man! Just a suggestion, a top down camera angle would be insane above the counter! We could see things so great that way! Keep doing you though man!
It would be cool if you had a portion of your show showcasing all of your great buys and how much you sold it for kinda like a storage wars but for your store that would be cool
I can tell that Asian Guy was a salesman cause he’s really trying to work You Pete. Pete is just playing it cool and says I think I’ll pass….Lol
lol doesn't matter that 98% of the plating has rubbed off over the years, my man is selling the remaining 2% like the entire sax is made from 24k solid gold.
The banjo guy was like the salesman in that Twilight Zone episode who was selling against the clock to save his life.
Love your channel Peter and your shop and the care you show your customers from a fan in south Fremantle Western Australia buy the way the fishing is great in Australia if you’re interested 😇🙏👍
HI PETER, HEY PETER I'M in the Craigslist Hunter community NOW !
We bought a generator (open box) at a 2nd hand store for $100. It collected dust for years. Then we lost power for over 48 hours. That generator saved over $1000 of meat in our extra freezer.
Can buy dry ice lol
How do you have ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of meat. You got diamonds in the chicken?
@@EvilThunderB0lt lol. That would be nice. I have 2 chest freezers and the fridge in the house. We buy in bulk when prices are right and vacuum seal it. Plus hunting and fishing. It adds up over time.
Jay was a delight. 🤍🤍🤍🤍💕💕💕
My generator came useful ten days after moving into my house because the power company shut the power off for 22 hours and we were the only ones in the neighborhood with power and lights! It also came into use again when the power was off for four days and I put it in one of the outbuildings to deaden the noise and I ran my two story house the whole time and I barely used a gallon every ten hours! It’s a cheap, harbor freight 400 watt predator generator and it never failed me. I had to modify the petcock because the point broke off when removing the fuel line to drain it but I threaded it with a tap and crewed in a 1/4” brass fitting and it hasn’t been a problem since. I just run some fresh gas through it with the float bowl removed to flush it out and then connect it and fill with fresh gas and it started every time with the first pull. I was surprised that harbor freight had such a good generator. I usually stick to hand tools like wrenches and hammers and the like but for a power tool, recommend it. I normally don’t recommend power tools from them because they always broke down but that generator had me rubbing my head!😅
That Asian guy is really smart with music. The way he explained how he is self taught and how others can do it too by memorizing the notes in a song was brilliant
It's been a great 10 years of watching these videos. Congratulations 🎉
Jay is the man. Met a lot of sellers like him. I can't resist 😅
I have a generator that size… and I never want to move it again. I’m happy with my two baby Honda generators 🤣🤣
I'm from waukegan, I love watching you, man!! Very entertaining. This is the new pawn stars, lol. Hopefully, I'll be in to see you guys one day ❤ Blessings 🙌
Thankfully this isn't the new pawn stars this isn't fake and Pere isn't a drug addict like those guys
@@extremechimpoutthis isn’t even the new pawn stars ! IT’S not a pawn shop 🧐
The guy with the saxophone is legit! How is this not professional content?
Who says it's not?
I wonder if the banjo guy polished his shoes before coming to see you lol 😂 he did say he was a salesman.👨💼
The history behind the items is the real value
Holy Hannah!!!...That guy could talk the paint off a wall!
Right 23:57
As a fellow flugel horn player they are beautiful- mellow like a tenor or horn!
I am glad you liked my Door County lighthouse card. I don’t know how it got to Colorado
I actually sent my cards from Door County when I was up there. I hope to get up there this fall.
2 Petes !! 16:09 doppelgänger enters from the back room or Pete’s stuck in a time loop.
you should do an updated thrifting video on goodwill, savers, and some mom and pa shops. crazy how much they have changed since your last video
The banjo guy told you that he was a salesman and boy he wasn't lying.
The old man played a hypnotic tune on the instruments
“Can you sax as well?!” His response spoke should have been a genuine “I know a few notes”
Ahhhhh 80sss, My high school years...good ole dayzzz🥰🤙
That buescher alto sounds great. That banjo is only a 4 string. Very few people play those anymore
I thought he was saying Boettcher. I am glad you cleared it up. I don't know saxophones.
Told u nobody wanted them shoes dude got u they still in the case😂😂
never be ashamed tp plug your merch Pete. keep up the good hustle brother
Loving all your videos and what you’re doing in general.
I’m from Buffalo, NY but living in Japan for a bit more than 20 years now, so great, for me anyway, to see just down-to-earth folks (and the occasional clearly not touching the ground types)
If you get a good quality pro trombone with a semi-big bore
Let me know and I’ll fly over there and grab it
That instrument guy must have lived a very interesting life.
Yeah that's what I was thinking too!
to have lived & played his wonderful historical instruments in chicago at an earlier time heck yeah! wonder if he ever got to meet benny goodman or benny Golson or duke ellington?? a lot of those big jazz singers/musicians went to & from chicago through the years
A generator is a nasty necessity. Love the channel bro.
That certainly does not look like a 103-year-old banjo. The label inside is bright white and appears to be modern paper.
Hi Pete, I'm from the UK and I love your videos. Just a quick question, what happened to vicky. You have probably mentioned where she went in a video, however I can't find it. Keep the videos coming. Sending love from middlesbrough in the uk xx
Unless you live in a country, or you are a framer who needs to run tools for the day or two before the panel wall is built and the meter and single outlet is installed, buying a generators is a colossal waste. Food is not going to spoil in a couple hours. Heck, even overnight. You could leave everthing in your fridge on the counter overnight and it's not gonna spoil. And it would take nearly that long for the stuff in your freezer just to melt, much less spoil.
That grey Craigslist Hunter shirt is dope
Thanks. My Poll-Lock Con Artist.😊
The old dude sounds like an old musician thats on the pipe now😂
Who ever makes the titles to your UA-cam videos 👏👏👏😅 always so good
You should put historic videos like that on UA-cam, that stuff needs to be preserved for future generations, not rotting in a tin!
Love watching this place evolve, time is flying 🍻
always here in tacoma washington....
A Cousnon flugelhorn this age is considered the best by many players. I would pay a 1000 dollars for it.
The couesnon fluglehorn was a good buy.
Jay even wore the same shirt ! He's a thinker !
He got you bro, fair and square, hope you gonna make at least something from that banjo lol
Chuck Mangione "Feels so Good"....flugelhorn.
I love Your content Pete, (also Ruby and Honey are quite the HIT!!! I find your channel extremely entertaining, humanity is so strange it’s funny how most people think their items are worth a mint and assume You’re in business not to make any money!! I’m in Maryland I wish You were closer. Great Shop and Great Channell. I notice You don’t do loans like a pawn shop, do you just buy and sell? Are loans too much of a pain? That Cat Honey has an amazing personality. I had a similar Cat that I had to put down, only time my Wife saw me cry, she was balling her head off 😭 if you’re not a Cat person you cant understand the relationship
Pete buys, sells and trades.
He told you he was a salesman! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I would track him down and Hire him!!!
Thanks for the entertainment pete appreciate all your videos love the con
The white mouthpiece he had on that alto sax could have been worth a couple hundred bucks.
Great content , enjoyed watching Jay......
Yawning while wearing sunglasses inside is almost as bad as wearing sunglasses inside.
Phish four day sphere Vegas run going
Also walking around doing nothing but watching Pete is work makes him look even more lazy
Seriously. I hate that guy
My postcard made it!
Generac's are quality, my friends hunting cabin has a 6500 for 8yrs now, we run it 24hrs for a week, never had one issue even in minus 15degree weather
That banjo is worth about $300 tops!
if it was a 5 string lol
I was really hoping the birds would get into the mix
My parrot loves seeing those birds! Deagan, my snarky little Senegal parrot wasn't a fan of the saxophone. He screamed his beak off when Jay was playing that. Poor Deagan, probably having flashbacks of the last time he painfully endured my honking on my clarinet.
He did tell you he was a retired salesman. I think he travels around selling his instruments.
Love the teeshirts. I think u are very fair with ur offers
We need a live item camera!!!!! Something from overhead maybe? Great videos either way.
You missed a big score on the flugelhorn. That's the best most sought-after brand. It's in good condition, and all horns from this brand of that age sell for a minimum of 1000 dollars. I'm willing to bet that one was between 1750 and 2500! Have a bit more patience and look online for items you have no knowledge about. Excuse yourself to the restroom and check on your phone. You could have both made out happy.
Pete doesn’t need your advice.
Transfer those films to video and post on UA-cam...should get alot of views.
And it would preserve the film. Fantastic idea mate.
This guy sold him the smokeless ashtray and a gremlin
Also the Bathroom Buddy
Wish i still had my TV boombox. Phillips? I think it was.
Gave it away. I think mine had antennas that you could dial in to radio and tv stations.
I'd love to see some of the different things people buy at the shop as well as the things they sell.
17:54. Pause it. Pete's doppelganger walked into the store! Mad crazy how he looks just like Pete! See for yourself and tell me I'm wrong.
The guy can play many instruments and played Pete like a fiddle
you took the loss but Jay was great content for your channel , so you won in the end! we need Banjo Jay tshirts !
The instrument guy said he worked as a salesman lol. I think you got finessed a bit.
Never pull a record (LP) out of it's sleeve using the finger and thumb on the records edge. It wrecks the record by depositing grease into the starting track no matter how clean your hands are. Always nice for me to watch your content.
How are you supposed to get them out?
I found it hard to sell Generac Generators nobody has money.
13:55 Prototype. (Noun. An original, full-scale, and usually working model of a new product or new version of an existing product.)
