Every time I see this vid I think "fuck surfing at Rotto!" but well, you know, there's sharks everywhere. Chances are they don't pay any attention to us.
Snorkeler was killed by a shark at Rottnest today off Little Armstrong Bay. After seeing this footage and reports it was a 3m white pointer I'd think twice about swimming around here.
They aren't as bad as made out to be. I wouldn't be hanging around great whites or bull sharks, but they don't attack people the second they jump in the water. People who spearfish regularly swim with 3 - 4 metre sharks without incident, you just need to be aware.
