Then you're in for a treat. I'm editing a 15-20 minute video right now that's is completely about The Chain. Guaranteed you'll see something new in it!
0:00 Anticipation 0:29 Melee 1 (It also plays during Anticipation, but may as well put it here.) 1:56 Phase 1 3:27 Melee 2 5:08 Phase 2 7:05 Phase 3 9:01 Melee 3 10:29 Desperation 11:56 Phase 4 12:54 Melee 3/6.42 (Since the rest of the song is just the ending of that.)
I love both this mix and ConfusedTurtle's, but for some reason both still feel incomplete somehow, as though theres a couple places where theres a break in the music that feel unintentional. Regardless, its still absolutely exceptional to listen to. Thank you for putting this back together as much as you have!
Perhaps someday I'll give it another shot. There is at least one place where I had to make that judgement call -- there is no suitable transition. I also wanted to use all the material available, which is probably an unrealistic goal (at least with my skills and without adding custom fill-ins).
Oh, and I meant to add that the Thirteen Soundtrack source actually had too many fill-ins to make suitable transitions; I couldn't use them all! But that's why that project turned out so we'll IMO.
@@ElBromoHojo I see. Perhaps some segments were made in isolation of others, thus the lack of transitions available between every part. Unfortunate, but not much that can be done about that unless the original artists were to get involved, which can be a rather tall order for a fan project.
@@Deaven50 That is one possibility. Also, remember I'm combining the in-game soundtrack with the official soundtrack, so I'm already dealing with material that isn't perfectly compatible. The limitation I chose -- use everything, repeat nothing (with rare exception) -- worked very well for XIII but not so well here. At some point I probably will revisit this to create mixes without either of those two limitations, with the aim to just make something that sounds seamless. What points in this particular mix get your attention as lacking in that? I'd hate to do it and miss something.
@@ElBromoHojo Bear in mind that this could just be entirely in my head, of course. I think the most jarring transition is at 1:55. Following that static sound, theres a short series of fast notes that abruptly becomes a series of higher octave notes. Theres a similar moment at 4:54. I don't think I noticed anything else. Perhaps its just to those particular moments being so much higher pitched than most others?
Thank you so much for this. All this time there was this mediocre edit of the game rip version of this. You have really shown love and made this into something truly badass. Thanks again!
Nice to know that the Furi fandom is still alive! The Chain is one of my favorite guardians.
